Rand al'Thor's Assorted Draft Notes - HabsFanFromOntario - 12-30-2021 So, this article doesn't have a specific narrative approach to what I want to come from it, it's mainly just my musings on the draft itself and things I'd like to share about myself, opinions or preferences. First and foremost, I haven't been adding my PT claims to my update page since the updates have locked, I plan to stupidly do it all at once, then ask Ham if I missed anything to put being a failure on his head and not my own. But the 274 number with the small trainings you see is in fact not the real number. I have done every single PT, deep dive and what have you this season. Second, my preference in a team is directly correlated to how much I'd like the locker room. If you want to invite me early to test out the fit, by all means go for it. If you don't have an active discord, I'd rather you pass on me and take somebody like Vic honestly. I'd also like a path to playing time after my time in juniors. I don't want to ride the pine or watch as others contribute to the team's success. I don't need first line minutes, but I'd ideally like to be on a powerplay unit and have a chance to fulfill the purpose of the character, score some damn goals. Third, it personally affects me not at all but I also would like to not be on a team with bigots. I just don't mesh with people who might self identify as such. Also, if you think Colin Kaepernick is, or was at any point a good quarterback, you're lying to yourself and you're trash. Fourth, the more Newfoundland players you have the better. I love this locker room and this team, they've made this entire season so incredibly fun and welcoming. Having more of these crazy, fucked up weirdos would be better for my development, guaranteed. Fifth, it's fifth right, too many numbers, if you'd like to draft me, actually talk to me and see if we're a fit please. I appreciate the conversations I've had so far, talked to some great people and helped understand how the fit might be for those teams. Sixth, I will suggest people reading Wheel of Time or playing D&D fairly frequently, so be prepared for that. Seventh, I wish all of you, players and teams well in the draft and hope things go according to your plans. Thanks for your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVE2peS0Z_Y RE: Rand al'Thor's Assorted Draft Notes - sköldpaddor - 12-30-2021 NO BIGOTS TEAM LETS GO RE: Rand al'Thor's Assorted Draft Notes - Keygan - 12-30-2021 12-30-2021, 07:06 PMHabsFanFromOntario Wrote: Also, if you think Colin Kaepernick is, or was at any point a good quarterback, you're lying to yourself and you're trash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I0cUTXwr-k&t=6s&ab_channel=SecretBase RE: Rand al'Thor's Assorted Draft Notes - HabsFanFromOntario - 12-30-2021 12-30-2021, 08:03 PMsköldpaddor Wrote: NO BIGOTS TEAM LETS GO :wewin: RE: Rand al'Thor's Assorted Draft Notes - brickwall35 - 12-30-2021 12-30-2021, 08:03 PMKeygan Wrote:"let's talk about Colin Kaepernick for a few minutes"12-30-2021, 07:06 PMHabsFanFromOntario Wrote: Also, if you think Colin Kaepernick is, or was at any point a good quarterback, you're lying to yourself and you're trash. It's ironic they used Joe Flacco as an example when his girlfriend basically ruined the contract they had agreed to with the Ravens. I will also point out that San Francisco offense heavily lends to numbers like quarterback rating and throwing low pick numbers. It's a heavy west coast style based on running and slants, with motion on both sides. It inherently makes the quarterback look fantastic. Also pretending players like Robert Griffin III wasn't forced out and had to sit out several years and worked his ass off to get back, being a back up and even a third stringer while a fantastic teammate and not pulling stunts like Kaep did is ludicrous. Focusing on points allowed rather than yards for a defense is bad because it generally means you either scored a bunch and quickly (didn't happen) or your offense was bad and gave up terrible field position leaving the other team a better chance to score. Yards allowed would be a better metric for this argument. However, by the yards metric, they were still terrible although expected points the offense, spent 10 of the 17 games in the negative column. Going through that list though, the offensive yards the team had were simply atrocious generally falling at 300 or less. That season, they were the 27th ranked offense. Using QBR as a metric to say it wasn't his fault just generally means he didn't take big shots or try to carry the team ala 2001 Peyton Manning on the list who went for deep shots consistently. I'm going to stop here because the entire argument is intellectually dishonest and cherry picking stats to prove a point that just isn't true, but if I missed something worthwhile, feel free to let me know.
