Deadline: Sunday, March 27th @ 11:59pm EST RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - blix900 - 03-22-2022 PT Pass RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - Good_Ole_Kimmy - 03-22-2022 On the Colorado Raptors hockey team of the Major Junior Simulation Hockey League Jolmi Koivu plays a very large role on the third offensive line. On this line he plays right wing, along with him are Sanjuro Tsubaki at center and Hynek Heidinger at left wing. This line has been scientifically made in a lab to be as nasty as humanly possible. In training, the team was actually worried that it would be too nasty, and it would burn out spectators eyes. It is so nasty, the Colorado Raptors front office thought that other teams would think it is over powered and inhumane to role with in a developmental junior league like the Major Junior Simulation Hockey League. The reason that the line is so dirt nasty is because it is consisted of the biggest narliest dudes you have ever seen, and on top of being big and dirty and nasty every player on the line can score at will. We went to practice and i said to my line to be open to receive passes, the space must not be very open or the other team can think ahead of us. The second thing i told them to do is to battle in the attack to the boards, the center has to roteate so the opposite team doesn’t know if they have to mark him or not. The goal here is for the puck contenders on the boards to pass to me or the other defender, who has more visual on the net shoots or fake it, then pass to the center or me. The other thing i want my team mates to take on is stickchecking, they need to be really good at that i think, you have to be positioned well, it’s very important. You can be as fast as you can but if your position is wrong or your stick is going anywhere, it’s over. RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - Waters - 03-22-2022 What role does Ben Waters Jr play in the Kelowna Knights? Well, let me tell you the answer to that. Ben Waters Jr. plays on a line with two of his best friends on the team, Sash Sharnaz and Tommy Westbrook (but this time I upd in the middle. What does he do on that line? He does the biggest job of all time, driving the offence. Sash Sharnaz is a scrub, and everyone knows Ben Waters Jr. is carrying him. Meanwhile, don't even get me started on Tommy Westbrook (but this time I upd. That guy does everything on the defensive end. He's like a hound. Bark! Bark! Bark! lol. He's always barking and everyone finds it really weird. Most of all however, Ben Waters Jr. is a huge contributor on the penalty kill, clocking in a huge 14 seconds. Everyone always says that they would have scored on the Powerplay if it weren't for those 14 seconds, and they're definitely right about that. RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - Ace - 03-22-2022 So, it looks like I am going to be on a defense pairing with fellow draftee and Anaheim Co-GM Patches III. Patches III brings a smoother skating and creative approach to defense and looks to disrupt the play quickly and turn the puck up the ice for transition. Myself, I take a bit more of a physical approach to defending. I clear the front of the net so our goalie can see the shots coming at him, and if anyone decides to be a tough customer, I do what needs to be done. My large 4’6” frame and substantial quads allow me to navigate the slot and enforce our defensive protection in our side of the ice. I will also be seeing penalty killing time as I try to prevent the opposing team’s players from generating too much with an extra skater on the ice. Thankfully my long stick (it’s like 3 feet long, super long) takes away a ton of passing lanes. RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - Ox Monkey - 03-22-2022 The Video room was empty when JoJo arrived, save for the Sturdy face of Craig Hurley, the teams video coach. While JoJo was unloading his notebook and pen from his bag, Jobin and Sung walked in to grab seats next to Larkin. Today Hurley was examining the teams breakout and zone entry, as it has been a thorn in the GMs side. Video revealed that Larkin and Sung were leaving the zone too early, often letting the opposing ‘D’ to step up and intercept the long stretch pass. Stretch passing had a place in todays game, but it did not work when BOTH wingers left in vertical lines. Hurley showed examples of how one winger stays home to accept an intermediary pass, prior to leaving the zone. The intermediary winger has the option to chip up boards, or make a direct stretch pass across ice to the leading winger. This could of course be accentuated by a cut across the ice to cut between opposing players. After everyone had signed off feeling comfortable with he few new moves, the players shuffled out to get ready for practice, where they would no doubt, put this break-out to the test. -Ox (203 Words) RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - Gwdjohnson - 03-22-2022 Going into the season for the Anchorage Armada, it was clear that Ricky Koivu was going to be partnered with his brother Paul Koivu, and together they are expected to make up an excellent defensive duo for Anchorage. Paul just won the best defensive forward award in the previous season, and Ricky is a player who's expected to lean even more defensively than Paul. Together, they are expected to shut down the top lines of teams and be very frustrating for the opposition's highest threat offensive players. Centering their line is rookie Luka Magic, who brings some offensive flair to the line so they can produce some goals alongside closing down the opponent. Playing with Paul is going to be very helpful for Ricky, as he gets to start his juniors career playing with a familiar face who can also show him the ropes of the defensive game. With Anchorage expected to struggle this season, Ricky may not wow the league right away, but he is ready to treat his first season as a learning experience. A top line of Sophie Bordeleau, Faust Faker and Portgas D. Ace will lead this team forward in the future. Faker has a score first mentality and can play either wing. A lefty being on the right side opens up a lot of shooting angles coming down the right wing. Bordeleau is a great passer and with a little more vision development will be able to distribute the puck from anywhere. Ace is another winger that wants to score, but he does it by banging bodies and opening up space. Great hands in the small areas of the ice will be where he butters his bread. Being rookies this season it will take a few seasons for them to develop into players that top the Junior league, but you can see the vision that these 3 were drafted with even now. RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - TnlAstatine - 03-22-2022 We all know that coming into the league old ace is gonna be a young stunner and gonna be popped into the first line and first line on the power play. The tactics are gonna be to muck bin for a couple weeks until he gets his skates tied properly and has the right mentality to be able to put pucks into the net. Until ace gets his head tightened he will be the net front presence just hoping the puck will bounce off him into the net or onto other players sticks so they can put it in the net. The powerplay will be a bit different where he's gonna be the 2nd D and honestly just there to keep the puck in and again pass it to other way more capable players. Eventually Ace will run the powerplay and the first line but that wont be for at least a couple weeks while he gets up and running in the new league. RE: S64 SMJHL PT#2 - Tactical Meeting - jsteele14 - 03-22-2022 Honestly asking Din Djarin on a line set up is probably not the best idea. I have just came to this planet after a long time and do not really know of any strategies, or line ups like some of these other people know about. I just saw people playing this game, thought it was fun and so I joined and I noticed that I seemed to be good at it. I mean, obviously so did the league as you see I was drafted to a team in the recent draft class and have already scored in the regular season. I leave up a lot of ideas and planning to the other people on the team and I like to just play my game and do what the general manager suggests that I do to help the team as well as my player and hope it creates opportunities so I can get assists or score more goals. I'm really good at what I do and I leave the managers to do what they are good at doing. The only tactic that I would suggest is to find a way to get me open so I can score. |
