note: i'm sorry it's taken so long for me to put out more Sophie media! I'm hoping to do better going forward.

Sophie Bordeleau was on top of the world.

Playing on a line between Rylie Versi and Petra Sabor for a strong Quebec City Citadelles side, everything seemed to be going as planned. She was taking the SMJHL by storm, racking up points as the newest rookie sensation, and becoming a star overnight. Even with the success of her play and the team, Sophie did her best to remain as down-to-earth as she could. She made trips back home when the Citadelles had long breaks, bantered with the other rookies over Twitter, and got to know her teammates. They'd have game nights sometimes, and apart from all being super talented athletes and rich, Sophie felt like any other high school senior with a group of friends. The veteran players like Aksel Fiske, Alex Kidd and Bodhi Utah, despite not being too much older than the rookies themselves, were all important pieces of the locker room and helped the class of rookies to grow up and get used to living life on the road and in the spotlight as the Citadelles became one of the SMJHL's hot young teams in the standings.

Even as Sophie was tearing up the SMJHL with her elite playmaking ability, life went on for Jamie and the rest of the people in Trois-Rivieres mostly as normal. She still went to her classes, worked on her art projects, and spent time with her friends. Despite this, to those who weren't close to her, Jamie was being seen more as something else entirely, something outside of her entirely: the girlfriend of the superstar. This was something that rather bothered her, as it seemed like people were more interested in getting to know Sophie through her than actually being friends. After one particularly difficult day, she eventually vented her frustrations on a video call with her girlfriend. "Except for the few people, they don't really wanna know me, you know? They just wanna get to you through me and it's shit. I wanna leave this town," said an exasperated Jamie while Sophie listened in from the team's hotel on a road trip. "I'm so sorry to hear that babe, I kind of get how you feel," replied Sophie with empathy. "It's been hard to come back to Trois-Rivieres sometimes. I love the city and it'll always be important to me, but it can be tough to get some privacy playing for the hometown team. I'm sorry that you have to go through that on account of me and if there's anything I can do, let me know," she continued.

Jamie smiled at this affirmation, Sophie so good with words as always. "There might be. I know this probably isn't my place to ask, but I was wondering if after the season you'd want to maybe find a place together? Then we could be together, just us, we wouldn't have to perform for anyone," inquired Jamie, burying her face into her hands in shyness. In doing so, she missed the massive smile that spread across Sophie's face. "I'd love that! You could move out to Quebec with me and we could be closer together during the season! The art scene is probably better here too in the larger city, so there'd be more opportunities for you too. I don't want you to feel like you're just following me around, I want this to be best for you too Jay," Sophie gushed. With that matter resolved, the smiling women went to bed that night with grand dreams of their future together and what was to come for the pair.

The success continued while the end of the season came around, and with that came the All-Star Game nominees. Despite her point totals, Sophie wasn't named to the team by the selection committee, with her teammates Rylie Versi, Louise St. Martin and Justin Time being named to the game along with Aksel Fiske winning a vote to get in. It was still good, as Quebec won their division for a first-round bye. Sophie finished with 19 goals and 40 assists, good for fourth on the Citadelles in points and leading all rookies in points for the season. She'd gotten better at playing physical at centre as well, putting up 51 blocks and landing 85 hits to be a strong second-line option. Her line had been on fire all year, and now they'd be tested in the most critical games of the season. The team's opponent wouldn't be known until after the first round of the playoffs, but the Citadelles kept grinding away at training anyhow. With the Nevada Battleborn easily taking out the St. Louis Scarecrows in four straight games, Sophie and Quebec City would be taking on her old team led by a player she looked up to in Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson. The first game was rough, as while Sophie scored her first playoff goal for the Citadelles the team was outplayed and lost 7-3 to the lower seeded team at home. Despite this, the team battled back and was able to tie the series at 1-1. Neither side seemed to be able to give an inch as the series shifted to Nevada, and while Sophie's line had been completely stonewalled throughout the series, the top line of Aksel Fiske, Bodhi Utah and Alex Kidd were playing incredibly well and giving the team a chance to win, while Justin Time was slamming the door in net.

Back at home for Game 5, Sophie's family and friends had made the trip out on this Thursday night game to see the pivotal Game 5 tilt between the two teams. Sophie's line with Rylie and Petra still hadn't been able to break through with only the single goal in the first game, but the depth and talent was performing admirably. Early into the game, Dave Heinrich put the Battleborn up with a power play goal, but Ben Der was able to strike back and even the score just a few minutes later. The game was a defensive battle, with Sophie in particular having a tough time against Heinrich in the faceoff dot. Despite this, the score remained 1-1 through the third period and into overtime. On a shift about five minutes into overtime, the Battleborn dumped the puck in and went for a change against the Citadelles' bottom unit on a puck that was tipped by Joe Burrow back into their own end. Kalevi Pukkala collected the puck behind his own net and waited to catch his breath, but soon spotted Tommy Thompson breaking for the opposite blueline. In one clean motion, Pukkala spun out from behind the net and fired a hard, clean pass straight up the ice right onto the tape of a streaking Thompson. One quick fake, one deke and it was all over, 2-1 Citadelles. The horn sounded and the team piled onto the ice in euphoria to mob the scorer. This gang of young players, so many of whom were first- or second-years, were one game away from going to the semifinals.
