WPG Presser - Ace - 07-03-2022 Hello everyone, It's been a fun offseason here in Winnipeg. I'm happy to open things up for questions from the community. AMAA! @hockeyiscool Q: it is the internet so, "show feet!" A: I actually showed off my gnarly feet in the Aurora Discord yesterday. Should we start a feet pics channel? @ACapitalChicago Q: Favorite move you've made as GM? A: This is a bit of a difficult question to answer, as I've got a decent bit of time at this game. I suppose, if I looked back, it would be the Keygan for Crutch deal, where the community laughed at the trade and then Crutch proceeded to crash and burn and Edmonton got a future GM out of it. That was some highway larceny. Q: What's your big goal for the next five seasons? A: Well, we're positioned well to compete within that window. I fully expect with the commitment and drive that my squad has here that we'll be pulling in the first Challenge Cup in Aurora history. That's the goal. Q: What move as a GM has taught you the most? A: That's a good question, ACC. I'd say that it's not always wise to make a trade to improve your on-ice team, as it's easy to disrupt the chemistry you have in your locker room. You have to do your due diligence on everyone you consider bringing into a locker room. I've made some mistakes in the past of not knowing exactly what rifts could occur, and I've walked into those and done damage to my club in the past. This was back in the early NEW GMing days, so I've learned quite a bit since then. Q: Could you elaborate more on what made you want to change the WPG branding? A: So, initially, we were just going to remove the wordmark, because wordmark bad. From there, the creative juices were flowing, predominately from Tweeds. We had some team emotes made, and the polar bear theme wasn't new, it was an older alternate logo from the initial logo rebrand from the Jets. We took that one alternate logo and rolled with it and killed two birds with one stone. No more wordmark, and a bigger presence for the polar bear. @brickwall35 Q: What team(s) do you see as the biggest potential rival/roadblock to WPG and a championship? A: Well, in order to be the best, you have to beat the best. Los Angeles is still a tremendously deep team, and Chicago is still the Daddy Team in our division until we can state anything otherwise. I am not as concerned out East right now, we're predominately focusing on our path to the Final first and foremost. I'd consider Chicago to be our biggest rival right now. @sköldpaddor Q: when is deck A: I am very disappointed you would ask me such a triggering question. I wish I knew the answer to this. I have an answer that deck will be installed on 7/11/22, but this is after it's already been delayed six times. So, who knows if deck will ever happen. @luke Q: First GM job that is not NEW. When are you moving to Hartford? A: I have AGMd MAN and EDM, and I was also the Head GM of the Anaheim Outlaws. But, I hear what you're saying, as as much as I'd love to be a New England-based team, I am very pleased with the heritage and history of the WPG franchise and we will not be moving. For context, the Wolfpack were actually the Tampa Bay Hydra, and then due to the local proximity to the West Kendall Platoon, they elected to move to New England and play in Hartford as the Hartford Hydra. It wasn't until the Nando shenanigans when current Aurora @OrbitingDeathand myself took the reigns and rebranded to distance ourselves from his disgusting demeanor. So, Hartford is stinky, and no thanks. @High Stick King Q: You've officially been a member here for over a decade. How has your life changed in those 10 years since you were a young bright eyed noob? A: Oh, boy, that's a question and a half. The more my life stays the same, the more it changes. I'm still the Boston hockey loving idiot that joined in 2011/2012. Since I joined, I've gotten married, I've had my first and second children, I've had a surgery to ensure I can have no more children, I've had a few jobs, I've started my higher education journey, I've bought a home and sold it, and bought another one. I love the SHL, and despite a few periods of inactivity around job changes and major life events like when Amelia was born, I have stayed a part of this community that I love so much. I don't foresee that changing in the future. Q: You said that Chicago is our biggest rival currently. How do you see us (Winnipeg) matching up against them in this upcoming season with the new changes we've made? A: I see us matching up with them on equal footing. It will be an interesting narrative to see how Fluw experiences that, going up against his former team, especially with all the #traitor nonsense they posted on the signing thread. Personally, they should have been appreciative of having his services to begin with. Let's boogie, Syndicate. Q: What do you think Lord Farquaads will bring to the team next season when he joins? What kind of player do you think he'll be in his prime? A: Farquaads will be a child along for the ride next season, let's be real. I imagine he'll be around 800 TPE or so, and so he'll be anchoring down that bottom defense pair. By anchoring down, I definitely mean like he'll be sinking it down and will be relying on his defense partner to stay afloat. In his prime? Farquaads could have already been forced to play offense, but who knows what the future brings. If he stays on defense, he could project to be a top tier shutdown defender. Q: The contractor calls you and says they will only finish building your deck if you trade @RashfordU. What side of the deck are you putting the bar-b-q on? A: I think the North side, I know that I could probably get someone like Texas to trade me four 1sts for Rashford. RE: WPG Presser - hockeyiscool - 07-03-2022 it is the internet so, "show feet!"
