Scouting Report: Guinness O’Bigbers, 16-year-old Left Winger

Height: 5’11”
Weight: 200 lbs

Guinness is a natural offensive force, a pure scorer, able to pass, get open, and make the offensive read with effortless speed and intelligence. He’s near-perfect screening the goalie, and his puck handling skill allows him to make the effortless plays the fans love. He’s also frighteningly quick, agile, and strong with his stick, able to isolate players on the boards and easily power his way through when his stickhandling rarely fails.

But O’Bigbers is inept on the defensive side of the puck, he has nearly no experience, and is a liability at best when asked to spend too much time in his own zone. He also takes some time getting to top speed, and has no wish to get physical in the corners, where the pucks reside. He’s a playmaker that can’t make plays from his own zone, and that’s a major problem. He’s a project, able to hold his own offensively, but needs more that usual development and training in the defensive zone, or else he’ll be nothing more than a gimmick.

Eddie Morozov signing off for now. Stay tuned for more info and more reports from my trips abroad scouting the next SHL stars!

Guinness much like his older brother hates defense.
