[Trading Cards] 9/29 Bug Report - grok - 10-01-2022

Hi folks, we I messed it up again.

On September 28 as a result of some pretty shit test code on my part, the SHL development team restarted our database server. Restarting the server disables the Event Scheduler, which prevented the nightly reset from running. This downtime impacted Trading Cards operations in two ways:
  • between September 29 and October 1, subscriptions did not process
  • collectors were limited to purchasing 3 packs (inclusive of subscriptions) between 9/28 and 10/1 instead of the expected 12 packs.
The event scheduler has been enabled, resolving the issue going forward. Subscriptions will process as expected overnight and collectors who prefer to buy packs manually will be able to purchase packs as normal tomorrow. Players who had already purchased 3 packs between 9/28 and today will not be able to purchase additional packs until tomorrow.

As remediation for this three-day outage, the SHL Trading Cards team is issuing nine (9) free packs to all users registered for SHL Trading Cards. These packs will arrive in the near future (read: when i have more than 45 seconds to do SHL stuff this weekend). When the packs are issued, a representative from the Trading Cards or SHL Development team will reply to this thread with additional information
