New Orleans Names Its New Captains! - JKortesi81 - 11-21-2022

The New Orleans Specters are happy to announce the newest Captains of the Spooky Squad for Season 68!

After some time without a Captain after the retirement of Lyle Odelein III, it’s quite overdue that we finally give someone the honor of having the “C” on their jersey once again!

Without further ado, here are the Captains!

First Alternate Captain: Giannis Kroustis @Air Crou

Kroustis has been nothing but a team first player since he joined the Specters in S64, when we called him up from the SMJHL. Drafted by New Orleans with the 21st pick in the S61 draft, Kroustis had his best season to date in the SHL last season, with 18 goals and 49 points. He also added 4 Shorthanded Goals while playing a very important role on the PK. Add into the help he brings with his advice/thoughts on team matters and this ‘A’ is a slam dunk.

Second Alternate Captain: Patya Perevalov @natedoeshockey

Perevalov came over to New Orleans in a huge sign and trade in Season 66. The former Minnesota Monarch proceeded to thrive in the Specters’ System, immediately setting personal bests in Goals, Assists, and Points. Last year, he shredded the competition, making “the leap” into the upper stratosphere of top players in the SHL, compiling 36 goals and 50 assists for 86 points which recently won him the Aidan Richan Trophy as the most improved player in the league. Patya is the shining example of how to train hard off the ice to improve on the ice, and as a leader, he deserves this ‘A’.

And finally, the newest Captain of the New Orleans Specters:

Atticus Hale! @the5urreal

The Second Overall pick in the S61 Draft by the Specters, Hale has been nothing short of phenomenal for New Orleans. Hale is a leader on and off the ice, always popping in for LR conversations and he earns TPE with the best of them. On the ice, Hale was called up in Season 64 and has been one of New Orleans’ better players ever since. Last season, he racked up 20 goals and 43 assists for a career high 63 points, and he’s looking to increase those personal bests this season as he skates on one of the strongest lines in the SHL with Perevalov and the newly acquired Videl Valor. A great person, and a great player, he truly earned this ‘C’.

Congratulations to the newest Captains! Let’s Get Spooky!
