Common answer would be yes, but then you have people who say no, water isn't wet, it makes things wet. Why complicate things that don't need complicating. Water is wet.
- What made you join the SHL?
I helped create the league. It started a long time ago, but folded. Then, years later, the original founder learned about STHS and asked if I wanted to help create a revival of the SHL. I said yes and that was the start of this current iteration of the SHL. Still going strong.
- What are your general expectations of your juniors career? Are you looking for a long and successful career as a junior player, or are you hoping to be called up to the big leagues as soon as possible?
I've always been one who wants to go to the SHL as fast as possible. Nothing against the Juniors, it's just regression comes so quick and I wanted as many seasons in the SHL as possible before that hits. However, the only thing I haven't won in this league is a 4 Star Cup so I want one. I need one.
- If you had to give a 30 minute lecture off of memory what topic would you choose?
I'd talk about the plight of the Leafs fan

Honestly, I've always been sim focused. Winning and having your player be great. Teammates and locker rooms enhance the whole social experience of the SHL, but when I think about the league, it's sim based.

Squirtle, hands down. Turtles are awesome, he's a blue turtle. The design and the water typing are just perfect.

In the summer 60+ hours are available. It's either SHL, Golfing, or laying out in sun. I'm a teacher and have the luxury of time in the summer months, however, I do tend to become a bit more low-key in the school year.

I love hockey, being a part of a community, and graphic design. I think this is the craziest intersection of those things which has been sorely missed in my life.

I want to win a 4 star. I think the desire to be another 2K player is lofty, it will depend on where I end up, but I do believe I have enough in me to dominate the J.

I'm a teacher. This is my job, except I teach Middle School so my 5 minute lecture on Ancient Mesopotamia would be met with 25 minutes of lecturing on why carving your name into the top of your desk is a stupid idea.

Low key weird question trying to bait out people... I think an inclusive space doesn't force people to conform and be socially pressured to fit in or be cut. A question like this pauses intolerance or contrarian views but doesn't dilute them. I think if the desire is true inclusion, we have to keep the door open, which also means we attract diverse and contrarian views. Being in a diverse community, sharing an LR with somebody who is LGBTQ is so much better and authentic at broadening somebody's views than a passive-aggressive question like this. Yes. I will be wearing a jersey, because I want to and not because it's the path of least resistance which many who answer this question will walk. Not tolerating intolerance is intolerance - and although I am on the side of this cause, I wouldn't want somebody who comes from a religiously conservative upbringing to feel like they will never belong here, even if the condition of their heart is genuinely good but their moral principals are tuned elsewhere.
I know this could be a controversial take, but baiting people out doesn't sit right with me.

I remember reading The Life of Pi when I was in Middle School and it broke my brain. It's my go-to for this question but recently I have enjoyed getting into Andy Weir's science fiction catalogue, as cliche as they are.

This player is going to be a more relaxed player for me after hitting 2k TPE with my last player. I will still do all the tasks/weekly training, but most likely will not be doing seasonal coaching. I have ~$50M in the bank and want to keep that going for as long as possible without having to do a lot of $ earning, jobs, media etc.

I really enjoyed A Song of Ice and Fire series until I got to the last book and got sad that GRRM is unlikely to finish the story. I actually lost interest and didn't finish the last one. I enjoyed fantasy novels as a kid (my favorite was LOTR) and these books made me feel like a kid again, but with adult content. The setting, intrigue, and characters are great.
- What do you consider the most important part of a fun league experience?
Being in a good community. Team and player success adds to the fun, but only one team gets to win it all every season and that isn't the main draw. Having a chance is fun, but it's not paramount.
- What’s your favorite Pokemon? Why?
Probably charmander because of playing the original games on game boy as a kid.

Diablo 2 (not so much anymore), Diablo 4 (tbd how long I keep going with new seasons), StarCraft II (every now and then for a quick fix), sometimes I get a Valheim itch, have played a lot of other RPGs in the past. Lately been playing Halls of Torment which is an awesome $5 indie game. I'm looking forward to StormGate coming out, which is made by the former RTS team at Blizzard.

A mutt, because I'm a mix of a few different personality types.

How many hours a week do you usually have free? (ie. 1, 3, 6+, etc.)
Varies, lot of small fragments here and there but usually have at least hour for myself each day
Is water wet? Based on personal experience I would say it very likely is
What made you join the SHL? Because I was promised in reddit that I could play it casually (which I absolutely failed)
What are your general expectations of your juniors career? Are you looking for a long and successful career as a junior player, or are you hoping to be called up to the big leagues as soon as possible? This time I plan to stay down for full 4 seasons to experince all that J has to offer
If you had to give a 30 minute a lecture off of memory what topic would you choose? If it is 30+ I'd most likely talk about my current RPG campaign
Have you ever heard about Kelowna before joining this league? No, I had not
How do you feel about walruses? The animals are fine
In honor of your team’s Pride Night, you’re being asked to wear a pride-themed warmup jersey to be auctioned off for the benefit of a local LGBTQ+ youth charity. How do you respond?
I'm in but I think any warm up jerseys are pretty stupid, they should wear them for a period at least preferably for whole game.
Any hobbies you’ve been into lately? TTRPG design and GMing
What is the best book you have read and why? (Comics included) Lotr, don't read alot but still it is a classic for a reason so it very well deserves the mention here
What do you consider the most important part of a fun league experience? Must be the community
What's your favorite Pokemon? Why? Alakzam, 1st gen games had combined special stat that made it OP and MVP of my teams.
What video games do you play?
I just bought Super Blood Hockey and Cyberpunk 2077 from steam sale so those will likely be next. But in general it varies a lot.
If you were to choose a breed of dog you would most likely be, what would it be and why?
Not really much of a dog person so can't really say which would be like me, but if I would get one I think it would be German Sheperd as my sister used to have one and it was a lovely dog.

Family and lots of projects outside of sim leagues, id say between 5-8

Nope.
- What made you join the SHL?
At first it was just something to add to the list of hobbies. Now I have some really good friends because of it and I like watching fake hockey players apparently.
- What are your general expectations of your juniors career?
None at all, Just gonna do my best and hang out with my friends.

History. I know it sounds vague, but I would always go to that subject whenever I got called out by an instructor in boot camp. They'd say "You've got 2 minutes to prepare a speech about the impact of the Industrial Revolution on society, economy, and culture during the 18th and 19th centuries." Insert random topic, that was just an example.

Huuuuuuuuuuge, I love the colors of their fur and blubber and I love to hear them growl. Very important to marine ecosystems.

I've had this big ass book of Sherlock Holmes for over thirty years, it was a huge influence on me as a kid and I still crack it open to this day.

I'll play Diablo 4 and MLB from time to time but my heavy gaming days are done and I'm fine with that.

Jack Russell! They match my energy quite nicely.
