Written, 2 TPE, Maybe next season (100 words min) Which SHL or SMJHL team was the best team to not make the finals this season and why? The best team to not make SHL finals this season for sure was Edmonton Blizzard. It dominated the Pacific division very well. Justin Time was an excellent goalie as always, right? It won the regular season with 99 points. Very rare achievement which should have been rewarded with a place in the finals but unfortunately Los Angeles showed its resilience, toughness and mental strength in the semi-finals series. My condolences to Edmonton for that. They missed once in a lifetime opportunity. It is a shame in my opinion. All in all, in my opinion Blizzard was pretty clearly the best team to not advance finals. Their D core let them down in crucial moments unfortunately. 11. Written, 3 TPE, IIHF Analysis (150 words min.) Write your predictions for this year's IIHF tournament or WJC! Tell me about your team! What are your expectations for your player? What teams are you watching out for this time around? Did last season's results surprise you? Team Finland is always a medal contender. Last season we failed to win a medal when I captained the team for the third (?) time. It was a disappointment. This time we can go all the way and not lose a bronze medal matcch. There are some youths coming up and ready to take bigger role. I will continue in a mentor role as a bottom six winger and maybe PK specialist. I grind hard and try to help the team win that way. So, I would like to guarantee that we will be a better hockey team this year but in sports in general everything can happen and puck luck has a huge role too so I can not do that. I can just promise that we will give ourselves a chance to win and hockey gods will then decide afterwards if we really win or not a medal. Smith-Carpet duo gives us a chance to beat other powerhouses every year. It is up to skaters and coaches to perform well too. When it comes to other teams, I expect big powerhouses like Canada, USA and Sweden dominate the event too year after year. The hockey culture is so deep in those countries so they should contend for medals every season. Simply no excuses. Teams like Ireland, Japan and UK should not celebrate at all in the international stage. Evil 2. ISFL Affiliate for 3 TPE 6. I think that it goes without question that the best team to not make this finals this season was THE Manhattan Rage. I know you might think I'm crazy, but they play with more heart and soul than any other team in the SHL. They now have multiple players over 1,000 TPE and despite falling off a cliff on the final quarter of the season, had shown a lot of promise in the beginning of the season. Watch out next season as the Rage continue to build around their young core of players and really make a push for the Challenge Cup! (102 words) |
