S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - puolivalmiste - 04-01-2024 Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt. Written Option 1: For some fans nothing is ever good enough and they make themselves heard on (social) media. Now it is time to put end to that! Your player decides to have a friendly takeover of some media platforms connected to SHL so their followers will soon be wiggling away their beaned lobsters to any nay sayers. Will your player do this all alone or does he seek help from teammates or friends, if he does who does he recruit and what do they bring to the team? What platforms they target and most importantly what is the thing your player keeps posting to get their fanbase going? Written Option 2: While offseason is prime time for training it is also the time for rest for the players so they are ready for long season ahead of them. Should you stay at home or go to vacation, going to any public spaces has a chance to run into a fan or group of them. How does your player interact on these encounter? Do they like the attention? Do they need to reserve 3 hours and 2 pens to go to local store? Selfie with first and run from the rest? Maybe they are doing their best to be as unrecognizable? Or just do they take a car with tinted windows from door to door with few security guards making sure nobody gets to talk to them (while Chirping away at fans on their phone)? Graphic Option: Create an image showing your player interacting with or avoiding their fans. You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements. All responses are due on Sunday, April 7th at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Carpy48 - 04-01-2024 Option 1 Shaggy usually doesn't use social media a ton, but he decided to give it a try, because why not. Since he doesn't even follow the SHL accounts himself - and doesn't know what's typically going on there - he decided to get some help. Luckily one of his Winnipeg teammates is a self-proclaimed pro in chirping and knows everything you need to know about wiggling and other quirky things they seem to be doing there these days. So Shaggy grabs old man Ben Jammin and gets a crash course in how to write professional chirps and how to best interact with fans. After a day or two Shaggy has understood why they all wiggle so much, even tried to reply to some of the fans that are really into it, but still doesn't get the whole beaned lobster. Getting help was a very good idea, but it's definitely nothing he could be enjoying on a daily base - so after the agreed SHL Chirper Takeover Shaggy quits the whole thing again and gladly leaves it to the experts. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - ThisSeemsFishy - 04-01-2024 Jussi Mutou would recruit fellow newcomers Emil Karlsson and Valerija Serapin, as well as up and coming prospects, Song Ju-Gong, Charlie Slurpe, Demir Bellona, and Jamie Fraser. They would primarily use the hit app Tik Tok, but would also intend to feature on Instagram, Facebook, and occasionally Roblox and Fortnite. Content would feature a little something for everyone like the usual “Post-Practice questions as the players walk past”, “Blind Dates, with the team”, and “Alternative Highlights” after wins that are chalk full of popular memes of the time. Jussi Mutou knows that the Montreal Patriotes might take another few seasons to be restored to their former glory. And he also knows from his first couple seasons with the Colorado Raptors that the worst teams need the best memes to keep the fans engaged. So he’s making it his mission to scour the Internet and make sure the Pats are up to date with the hip new thing! RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Zema - 04-01-2024 For Herman Ståhl, making a retreat to his home country of Sweden is the most obvious conclusion. Following the trade from St. Louis to Colorado, a lot of Denver natives were very interested in Herman and the team. This of course became an even bigger deal following the conclusion of the playoffs, where the Raptors lifted the 4-star cup. Hermans playoffs may not have been the most spectacular, but a very strong regular season peaked a lot of attention from the fans. Following the celebrations of the cup that later got part of a couple of trophies with the WJC gold, it has been a hectic season for Herman. In Colorado, he has become a fan favorite. And while he cherish his connection and support with the fans deeply, he is also longing for some peace that can only be found back home. He is getting rested, he is getting ready for the new season. And he is getting ready for yet another trophy lift. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - jacobcarson877 - 04-01-2024 Option 1 If anything, Olivija Agate knows how to chirp. Not only are her day to day Chirps certified bangers, but she is also up to date with some of the trends with the kids. She is definitely going to curate a couple different types of posts. First, she is going to stop any player she can find in the arena and stop them and ask them super personal questions. Then she will ask them about world geography but then edit new questions in so her teammates seem silly. Then she's going to post a bunch of purposefully cheesy thirst trap edits of anyone who will do them to random songs. Of course this is to help make Carolina the booktok capital of the SHL. For hers and hers alone she will be wearing the upcoming Pride Night jersey, because she is obviously queer and wants to bring some awareness to that, and the team's eternal support. This offseason Marek was subject to a surprise early callup to the big leagues. This being the case, offseason prep on fitness and off ice work has gone into overdrive as he prepares to play against full grown adults for the first time in his career. However, after a hard year in Detroit and international play following a short offseason the year prior its also a good time for a quick trip. Marek has a little money but not a lot, and very little fan recognition to boot at this stage. He’s heading to Malibu – opposite from the Detroit and Philadelphia climates he experiences in-season and a place where he can both relax and continue getting fit with workouts in the sand and enjoy a little bit of summer sunshine. Marek has always wanted to take a surfing lesson as well, as there is very little surfing in Czechia if you can believe it. All in all, flights seem reasonable and with the full SHL grind descending upon him he wants to take this opportunity. If his career goes to plan, he wont necessarily be able to travel with this level of anonymity for long. If anyone does recognize him, the interactions should be cordial if not pleasant, as its unlikely to cause any kind of attention swarm - he'd be happy to greet a fan or sign an autograph here and there since its a sign he's on his way to big things. Upon successfully taking over, he would call up former grizzly team-mate Billy Hill and his familiarity with artificial intelligence to scour and immediately remove or block signs of bigotry. He would then seek out fellow class of '74 member Troy McClure IV to transplant lobsters onto all of the "verified" accounts before setting up the combination staff of retired legend Jimmy Wagner and Harry Carpet to be the "faces" of the now branded "Lobster Media Group". From here the stage is set to bring balance back to the force.....I mean, to social media where people are treated fairly and nobody is against the idea of a Lobster expansion team. Any that ultimately voice their opposition or try to be negative an hateful, if not automatically caught by the AI program, get to be reamed by meme posts of disapproving disappointment (like the Justin Timberlake disappointment meme). RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - soevil - 04-01-2024 This offseason, Austin Morley took to training even more seriously than he has in the past. He blocked out 3 weeks to rent a suite of rooms at a Four Seasons hotel along the Florida coast. Morley isn't planning on doing this training alone, though, as he invited his team mate Nik Smith and childhood friend Joseph Reed to train with him. The three weeks wasn't just for training, though. The first week was for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The guys would lounge at the pool, go out to the clubs, and generally just hang out and have a great time. Morley would do his best to be there for the fans by signing autographs and taking pictures. Nik and Joseph were more interested in keeping low, but would never deny a fan that approached them. The two weeks following the R&R would be brutal. Weightlifting, technical skills, and stamina were on the top of the list, followed by sparring sessions to help with everyones toughness. It was a great three week training session for all. (181 words) RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Leafs4ever - 04-01-2024 Option 2: The off-season is a great time for professional athletes. You finally get to rest, rehab, and recharge. You get to see your friends and family for more than a day and do lots of hanging out and catching up. Vacations are also a must to get that quality time. One thing that happens during the off-season that doesn't bother you as much as during the season is meeting fans. During the season it happens a lot because you're actively playing and fans are currently involved in the season. In the off-season, though, you're more out of sight out of mind and can move around with less interruptions. When they do happen though, you're much more welcoming with the fans and can take time for pictures and autographs. The interactions are much more laid back and chill and it's the best time to meet and talk with fans. There's so much pressure during the season you just don't know how interactions will go. The off-season is just when fans can be fans and it's great times. So, whenever I see fans on my break I always love the meetings and can enjoy it and take time talking and making their day. (200 words) RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - bluesfan55 - 04-01-2024 written option 2 during the offseason sebastien regazzoni likes to combine vacationing and practicing. regazzoni practices at his home rink in bern, switzerland, and vacations in the country and city when he's not practicing. regazzoni enjoys going up to the alps and skiing (like many swiss people, regazzoni learned how to ski from a young age, and one of his sporting heroes was legendary swiss alpine skier simon ammann), and sometime goes down the slopes slalom style, as he used to be a decent competitive skier. when not skiing, regazzoni likes to take strolls around bern, and with bern being a decent hockey town (sc bern are one of the best teams in the country), regazzoni is often spotted by fans. he's someone who likes to take time out of his day and make a fan happy as long as they're not too intrusive (especially if the fan is a younger kid), so if approached he'll often stop and sign autographs. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - Puppy - 04-01-2024 Options 2: Ju-gong would absolutely spend most of his offseason back home in South Korea, not to avoid fans or anything like that, but to simply be with family and unwind. That said, during the season it is something he keeps in mind while going out. While simple trips to a restaurant are fine given how few people that will cross his path, going to a mall or events outside the stadium is always an issue. It’s such a problem because Ju-gong absolutely will sign and take photos with everyone and anyone who’s willing. The humble Korean boy simply does not have the heart to say no to a fan. In fact, the few times he’s been pulled away from autographs sessions before games, it weighs on his mind for some time that he let those supporters down. Because this is such an issue, he does try to avoid situations where he might have to do all of this in excess, but still, he is always happy to make a fans day. RE: S76 PT #0: For Chirps and Wiggles - .Laser - 04-01-2024 Graj Virrok does not necessarily hide from the fans when he goes out, but there are certainly times when he strategically chooses his shopping locations in order to minimize his recognition by fans. While he doesn't at alll mind to take pictures and give autographs, there are times when he just needs some personal things such as razors or deodorant or other personal care items and doesn't particularly want the tabloids to have opinions about his choice in body wash. He also sometimes is hungover and doesn't want to have to pay out the ass for delivery in a crowded town like Philadelphia. On these occasions, he simply braids his beard and tucks it into his shirt, puts on sunglasses and a fashion that he normally doesn't don, and goes to stores that he historically has been recognized at the least. He always tries to wear a hoodie to blend in better as well, which from what he can tell has little to no effect on how much he is recognized.
