S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - puolivalmiste - 07-01-2024 Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt. Written Option 1: Mayor of your players hometown reaches out to them and lets them know that the whole city council is impressed with your players performance. They want to name something after your player and hope they will attend the ceremony. But unfortunately everything hockey related is already named by the last great player from the city and they don’t dare to change it, so instead they let your player make the pick. So will it be a school, mall or maybe disc golf range? What will be your player’s pick and why? If it is a new place being built what does your player want to be included on it? Will they attend the ceremony, how does it go? Graphic Option 1: Create an image showing your player opening something named after them. Written Option 2: In the last home game of the season your player manages to score three back to back goals against one of their rivals to come back from 4 - 2 to win it in overtime. How do they celebrate it on ice? How do they address the fans and the media afterwards? Graphic Option 2: Create an image showing your player celebrating an overtime goal in their home areana. He never had anything as a kid and now he is given the opportunity to gain something which no one else in the world has. Right after the Panthers season was over he flew back to Switzerland to discuss the details regarding this ordeal. Some say the flight was not necessary at all but when he found out that it could not be anything hockey related, he got devastated as one can be. Next thing to come in mind was his old neighbourhood where he grew up in, which they decided to name after Georg for his accomplishments as Georgville, giving credit to his french roots. Georg in fact did not attend the ceremony as himself, but as a goofy ass mascot looking creature first meeting fans and kids, then he suddenly pops out of his costume to cut the rope. RE: S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - Salming - 07-01-2024 Task 2: For William Salming, scoring hat tricks isn't business as usual every day. So, he would celebrate a comeback win a with a hat trick for sure very passionate. After the OT goal, he would skate from one end to the other very quickly to hug the goaltender and give him a fist pump. After that, he would wait that his team mates would rush from the bench to the group hug. And then, when the crowd would give him a standing ovation, Salming would waive them with a smile in his face. After the game, he would face the media like normally. He would answer for the questions of the journalists with his calm voice and not hype himself above his team mates because ice-hockey is a very complex ball game and to win hockey games you need an equal effort from all 18 skaters and two goaltenders. Of course, if the journalists would try to hype Salming and respect his performance, maybe then Salming would give them some wonderful quotes about his special night but only in that case. So will it be a school, mall or maybe disc golf range? What will be your player’s pick and why? If it is a new place being built what does your player want to be included on it? Will they attend the ceremony, how does it go? Well... I appreciate the mayor and the city council's vote of confidence. But with a name like McLovin, there's only one real option that would reign supreme, much to the chagrin of the mayor and council members. That's right baby, an adult entertainment bar! How could you not? Only the best dancers, top notch bartenders and bottomless drinks. Nobody cares about some lame disc golf range. mall's are going obsolete, and schools, those are reserved politicians which McLovin hates. But a fine club? Now we're talking. Just think of the parties it can host when the team wins the championship and the endorsement opportunities? Class less, more like class full! Hell if Tom Brady can endorse crypto funds that stole millions, how bad of an idea could it be? And for the ceremony.... a dance-off. With some of the top talent across the country competing with their ..... assets. Maybe next time, the council and mayor will think longer before allowing this to happen, but then again, maybe they'll be patrons? RE: S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - By-Tor - 07-01-2024 Option 1: Since everything in Winnipeg is already named after Visser, Mexico, and all the other greats, Beck doesn't have too many options. Sure he could choose a local rink, library or some other nice building, but Beck decides to go a little eccentric with his choice and get his name on a graveyard. "Beck Cemetery" will be full of people that have no choice but to be associated with him for the rest of eternity. Not only that, Aurora fans will be lining up to buy plots in the place. Beck himself owns one of the prime slots and will be buried there one day, so people clamor for the chance to hang with one of the greats for a long time (forever). Conversely, the cemetery will also become a running gag for the city of Winnipeg, as names of opposing players will be deposited into the Aurora open grave after any big hit or nasty deke. It's a cultural sensation. RE: S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - Tylar - 07-01-2024 Sad Ketchup is usually a pretty calm, cool and collected type of player and guy so celebrating is not normally his thing, he likes to act like he's been there before. Although the final home game of the season, and scoring a hattrick is a big one, so Sad Ketchup, knowing the situation would likely ham it up for the home crowd as he is a fan favorite. You would see Sad Ketchup slide on his stomach on the ice from the opponents circles and see how far he could slide before the team eventually jumps on top of him to celebrate the huge overtime win and the hattrick. He would likely put one of the hats on from the crowd that was thrown onto the ice and wear it, ideally a nice looking cool one, not a syndicate hat cause that would be boring. After the game, Sad Ketchup would obviously thank the fans for the hats and supporting Ketchup and the entire team throughout the season and call them the best fans in the league. 165 words RE: S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - AuggieO - 07-01-2024 Mr No No Jo is flattered that his hometown wants to honor him by naming something after him! He is very modest and humble if he does say so himself, and since all the hockey rinks, pavillions and gyms are already taken, he'll allow them to rename the whole city after him. He has been work shopping some names, NoNo Town, Joville, Nowood, NoNo Springs. He ended up deciding on NoNo Jo Borough. It might be a mouthful for some people to say but they will at least always be asked about NoNo Jo when they tell people their hometown. The ceremony was held, of course, on July 4th. NoNo Jo of NoNo Jo Borough stood in a superman pose as the announcement was made, and fire works began going off in the background- but they were drowned out by the thunderous cheer of the crowd! NoNo Jo is proud to be so amazing and so honored by his hometown. The mayor of Ben Jammin's hometown of Monkey Village has acknowledged how much wonder and greatness Ben has done while he has become a famous DJ and a SHL player for all these years. We all know how much Ben loves to DJ and perform for his fans so in honour of him, they are going to be building a new club named "Ben Jammin" to honour all of the hard work Ben has bestowed upon his hometown. The club will have lively music, awesome vibes and is looking to even have Ben perform for its very first night opening. There will be amazing food, drinks and everything you could ever ask for in a club setting and all at a reasonable price! Close friends and family of Ben Jammin will be invited to join him in this special occasion (except for @kahri though) The club will look to be the go to spot whenever someone wants to have a fun time while in Monkey Village. When the mayor of Tom Pedersen's new hometown of Calgary reached out to commend his impressive performance and offered to name something in the city after him, Tom was deeply honoured. Given that everything hockey-related was already named after the previous local legend, Grogu Mandosson, Tom decided to let his team-mates choose something that resonated with his interests beyond the ice rink. They selected a new downtown public urination spot. The "Pedersen Urination Centre", also known as PUC, would feature state-of-the-art self-cleaning automated urinals for all genders, ages and mobility. Tom attended the ceremony, to give back to the community that supported him throughout his career. The event was a resounding success, with local dignitaries, family, friends, and fans gathering to celebrate. Tom gave a speech, expressing his gratitude and emphasising the importance of community and emptying bladders correctly. The day ended with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the town and solidifying Tom Pedersen's legacy in his new hometown. Words: 165 RE: S77 PT #4: Hometown Hero - Carpy48 - 07-01-2024 Option 2 This is a very hypothetical and unrealistic scenario, but since no real alternative was given, I will go with the prompt (because why not). My player, who is a goalie and is supposed to be in net during overtime, somehow managed to score three back-to-back goals. Seriously, this has never happened before. Never. A goalie has never even scored a goal in this league before and now, in this completely hypothetical scenario, we're not just talking about one, but three goals? I'd like to know what the other team was thinking. Were they even on the ice when this happened? That thought aside, I think I'd probably just faint because it's so crazy. Ignore the celebration, I'd already be speechless after the first goal, but after scoring two the coach probably thought 'who needs someone in net in OT, just put the goalie out there and let's win this game'. Apparently this is what happened, hypothetically. I'll be waiting for my statue outside the arena, no more questions. |
