Welcome to the roster announcement for team Finland!

Believe it or not, I'm back here again to make a roster announcement. Those who really read these every year should know what's coming Smile
At the moment we're still waiting to find out who will win the respective SHL/SMJHL Cup, but after that it's time for IIHF again. The wait has definitely been long enough. So let's talk about Team Finland. Last season I described our team to be in somewhat of a 'transitional phase' and it's safe to say we're still in there, perhaps just a little bit further along. Some players are getting older, others are currently in their 'prime' and we still have young ones coming up. It's a good mix. While we haven't won gold in a little while, we managed to win bronze last year and that's reason enough to expect yet another medal this year.

As usual we will start with retirements and other departures from last year's roster and then take a look at rookies. This season this section will be relatively short, because for the most part the roster is the same as last year's.
Leaving us after S77 is Bnana NWaffles who has been with us for quite a while and won two bronze medals with Finland. We wish you a happy retirement once it's time for you and of course all the best. Not quite retired yet, but playing a last tournament with Team Winland is none other than Jay O'Neil! He has been part of the roster for a really, really long time and we've managed to win a total of six medals, including two golds, together. Let's get one more before you go!

With one player leaving us that also means we have space to welcome one rookie. Our lone rookie this season will be Kaarlo Koivunen who will also have the pleasure to join two other defenders (we do seem to have a surplus of those at the moment) who will play as forwards this tournament. The other two - Kristian Seppanen and Cheeks Klapanen - should be used to it, because they already played at that position last tournament. Welcome Kaarlo, we know you've waited long enough to join the team.

That's pretty much all of now. Let's get to the roster.
