Journal entry #2 For the country and glory [2x WJC] - NordicNailer - 09-26-2024 Some time has gone by since the Armada got brutally thrown out of the first round of playoffs. For Abbe Wass it was a total nightmare. After a long and successful season with a whole bunch of personal records and wins he had such high hopes in his and the team's chances, but no. For Abbes own contribution nothing went the right way. Zero goals, zero assists and minus three in four games. A total nightmare.  And after the last horn in the last game everything went black. He doesn't remember anything that was said in the lockerroom. He doesn't remember how he got home. Abbe Wass doesn't even remember what he did the day after. He went into grief-mode. For several days he didn't talk to anyone. The only thing he ate was stuff that he could order directly to the door.  He was so down he almost didn't pick up his phone when an unknown number rang. But something in his gut feeling told him that this call could be important.  -Yeah Hello, who is this?  -Hi, im calling on behalf of the Swedish juniors national team. And to skip the small talk I'm gonna go ahead and ask you more directly. How would you like to represent Sweden in the upcoming tournament? Hello. Are you there? -Yes! Yes, I'm still here. Sorry, this is just such a shocker. I did not think I would get the question so I'm pretty speechless right now. But of course I would like to be a part of the Swedish team. It would be an honor to represent the country and pull on the jersey of the three crowns.  -Great! I got to go and make other calls but my assistant will later on today bring you up to date with the info and playbook. And be sure to study. It's important if we're gonna succeed as a team in the tournament.  After the phone call ended Abbe went to the closet. Starts moving the hangers around, searching for something. After a while he finds what he searches for. Somehow it has changed since the last time he saw it. This time it seems to be a bit more shiny. Glowing by itself if you may. He goes over to the mirror and watches the reflection in pride. Finally he can wear the yellow jersey with three crowns that his grandfather bought, without the shame of never having played in the team for real.  A lone tear slowly falls down the cheek of Abbe Wass.
