The Newfoundland Berserkers awards are back for S78! While the season didn’t go quite as we might have hoped, it was a strong building block year for the young team with championship aspirations in the near future. Today we will present our eleven prestigious awards named after some Zerk legends!

Ryuuji Minamino Forward of the Year - Jason Warwaha
@Boomcheck

[Image: ur6ANZ3.png]

Our first award goes to our top forward, Jason Warwaha. 1st in goals, 1st in points for the Zerks, led all forwards in Corsi For%, prolific shot taker, big hitter, no brainer here.

Rand al'Thor Defenceman of the Year - Turtle Bob @Cuffy

[Image: mBwz6zs.png]

One of the closest calls but Turtle Bob wins for top defenseman. In his final year with the team he led in time on ice, playing a big role in both the penalty kill and powerplay, was 2nd amongst d-men in points, and led the team in blocked shots. Honourable mention goes to Leo Finnegan and Weston Winston.

Mikko Rashford Rookie of the Year - Jacob Marsh
@Mtstreaks04

[Image: GLdu7ED.png]

This was an absolutely stacked field, but Jacob Marsh wins rookie of the year. He led all rookies in goals and was third out of all players. He was also tied for the lead in points among rookies, and did this all with virtually no power play time. Honourable mention goes to quite literally every other rookie, you guys were all studs this year.

Cale Amundsen Goalie of the Year - Katharina Rosenthal @Symmetrik

[Image: h4XL412.png]

This one has to go to our starter, despite not having the highest save percentage on the team, given the context of being a rookie and playing far more games than our backup, Katharina proved she’s an absolute workhorse and the franchise goalie of the future. She finished with an impressive 8th in wins amongst all goalies in the league, despite Newfoundland only being 12th in wins this year.

Patric Twist IA of the Year - Joe Degen @JD3gen

[Image: GO5oY8O.png]

Our top inactive goes to Joe Degen. The d-man turned winger turned d-man led all Zerk defensemen in points while only averaging 10 seconds a game on the powerplay. Also the guy has a channel in the locker room named after him... Legend.

Andrei Cleanest Player of the Year - TheGreatOne @TheGreatOne

[Image: my7gOMW.png]

The most disciplined and clean player on the Zerks this year goes to none other than TheGreatOne himself. While technically tied for the least amount of penalties with Jacob Marsh, TheGreatOne gets the edge as he spent more time on ice. Clean.

Harry Carpet Underrated Player of the Year - Hannah Crowder @IceeBreaksTheSHL

[Image: R5mxeVZ.png]

Most underrated goes to Hannah Crowder whose first full season with the team was very solid as she played a big role on the very productive second line. She also led the team in game-winning goals and led all forwards in plus/minus.

Volsungr Team MVP - Jason Warwaha @Boomcheck

[Image: xMbotes.png]

No need to overthink this one, Warwaha was once again the Zerk’s best player and most valuable. Finished his career with Zerks strong, and his output will certainly be missed next year.

Playoff MVP - Connor McDusty @Connor McDusty

[Image: LktnjhT.png]

Unfortunately the sample size here isn’t huge as our playoff run ended fairly quickly this year but by far our best player in these playoffs was Connor McDusty. Led the team in points and in goals, McDusty was a monster.

Luffy Most Dedicated User of the Year - Jason Bourne @SFresh3

[Image: eYn0ReG.png]

Solid rookie season on the formidable second line, great presence in the locker room, a top TPE earner in his class, assistant captain as a rookie, Jason simply personifies dedication and was the clear choice for this award.

Yosh Team Spirit Award - Ima Noobie @YetiTaz

[Image: qDVnFcz.png]

Our final award goes to another stellar rookie, Ima Noobie. Puns, cats, wrongly eaten KitKats, you get it all with Noobie in the locker room and no one else embodies the Zerk team spirit quite like them.

Congrats to all winners! Let's go Zerks!  Berserkers
