Buffalo Cap Overage - Wally - 10-23-2024
Good evening SHL,
During a league-wide budget reconciliation today it was found that the Buffalo Stampede and the New Orleans budgets did not reflect salary retention in their respective league budget page. In applying the correct retention outlined here, it became clear that the Stampede were $1,000,000 over the salary cap for the current season.
In accordance with the rulebook (Section II, Subsection C, Rule 6), the Buffalo Stampede will incur a $2,000,000 salary cap penalty next season (S80).
As always, they may appeal this decision and can send an appeal request to any head of the appeals committee, currently @DrunkenTeddy and @Leafs4ever. Any appeal should be filed within 48 hours of publication of this punishment.

After the TOR issue was discovered, we also (like I think I also mentioned in the thread you're referencing) determined that there were multiple issues with the official budget, to the point that we felt further investigation was in order. Wally in particular has been extremely busy going through every single team budget and rectifying them with the official budget and determining what was off, and that is when this was discovered as well.
It has been an extremely un-fun day for everyone involved, truly.
