7: Game 5 of the finals. Quebec City leads the series 3-1 as the Colorado Raptors look to extend their life in the playoffs. Under the bright lights with hope in their hearts, the Raptors win the opening face-off and move in to attack early. The rush is easily handled by Quebec's netminder and the Citadelles move the puck into the offensive zone. After a face-off win to the left of the goal tender, QCC bangs home the first goal of the game, making the mountain look even bigger for Colorado. Roughly 10 minutes later, still in the first period, Colorado evens the score and you can feel the momentum begin to shift. Colorado continues to keep the pressure on throughout the rest of the 1st period and the score stays 1-1 after the first 20 minutes. Soon, after the the start of the second period, QCC breaks from the offensive pressure of The Raptors, and another goal is scored. The Raptors up 2-1, are finally breathing and seeing the path to keeping their series alive. However their relief would not go unpunished by their opponents. QCC scored again at the start of the 3rd period to tie it up again. Colorado than moved to take the lead as they were going to finish this game kicking and screaming. The score is now 3-2 in favour of The Raptors. Not much time passes before Quebec City ties it up again. 3-3. The clock hits 0 and the 3rd is over. 20 more minutes go by and neither team gives an inch. We're headed to double OT. The stamina of Colorado falls short as QCC wins it nearly 30 seconds into 2OT and take home their championship, sending The Raptors home empty handed.

2. Claim an activity check in the portal: CHECK

3. Buy a weekly training in the portal: CHECK

Proof: See Portal

4. Complete a PT. CHECK Proof here

5. Create a graphic and post in the weekly submissions forum of the graphics thread. TBD, unless the one I did in the Draft bonus counts.

6. Write a Deep Dive: CHECK Proof Here

7. Watch an SHL or SMJHL stream on YouTube: CHECK, here's the recap.

First of all, before I get into the live sims, the commentary was a nice bonus and made it more engaging. I can understand if it is not available each time, but it was a good bonus. For the quick sims involving the Nevada Battleborn, it was an up and down series of games with us having a 2-2 record overall. The most notable players include Claude having a phenomenal game one making 39 saves, Mick Geno getting three points in that game, and assistant captain Slava Kasyanenko getting 5 points in our final game against Thunder Bay to end on a high.

As for the quick sims, in general, there were a number of high scoring games including Quebec City reaching ten goals in a game. But the close encounters included an 8-7 Colorado win over Anchorage, our final game against Thunder Bay,

The live sims began with Maine managing to out-play the Scarecrows, ending up with a solid 6-0 win. In an East Coast vs West Coast rivalry game, Vancouver kept it close with the powerhouse Newfoundland Berserkers, but the team from 'the rock' pulled away with a 6-3 win. Vancouver could be an interesting team to watch for the next few seasons. Kelowna fell to Anchorage 8-5 at home, their late rally failing to bridge the large gap. The power of the #GayIce could not help them.

For my first regular season stream, as the Day One Stream had a bit of delay and I had to go to bed, it was a fun time and it's fun seeing what you've done with the ice designs and the goal horns.

8. Complete the Rookie Survey (post that you completed it and we will verify with the rookie mentor head that it is complete for credit) I believe it is this HERE. If not, can someone link me it?

For task number 5 we can accept that graphic, but you will need to create a new post in this thread with a link to the graphic mentioned!

The first stream i watched for SMJHL was day 2 of s80, at the time knowing i was going to be picked up by kelowna as they really wanted a d man, and had the first waiver claim, so i watched it whilst typing to my new found comrades, it was kind of hard to watch as i hadnt realized just how much this team was suffering. through the 4 games kelowna played, we only won 1 game, our first win of the season, narrowly against the grizzlies, and the team was ecstatic that the burden of that first win was finally off our plate. 3 of the 4 games were 1 goal games with our game against vancouver going to the shootout, HOWEVER during the stream, the Kelowna game that got live play by play by mr SMJHL simmer man, was our worst defeat of the evening, 8-5 fall to the Armada, we went down 6-1 in the first period, and the beating just continued in the 2nd, ending at 8-2, we started to make a comeback with about 8 minutes left in the 3rd,putting 3 in to make the score line look respectable, but honestly it was never close, and that was probably one of the most agonizing hockey watching experiences ive ever had

Task 6: Here

Task 7:

My sim of choice for this task was the SMJHL S80 playoffs, day three. This stream had it all: heartbreak, elation, the struggle and the surprise.

This day made some team's playoff hopes a reality and broke the hearts of everyone else. Three teams made Game 5 exits: Vancouver, Yukon, and my very own Grizzlies. The QCC-GFG game was, at the very least, a back and forth bout that had me alternating between dancing in place or watching with slumped shoulders, but in the end, QCC continues their campaign for a back-to-back. Joining them in the next round after a Game 5 victory are Anchorage and Kelowna.

The two six-game challenges came down to St Louis v Maine and San Diego v Nevada. My favorite underdogs (besides my own Grizzlies, of course), after an inspiring season tie after the end of game 4, found themselves facing a renewed assault from Maine. Crows, you were an inspiration, and will be missed. Game 5 was brutal. The Tidal-Battleborn bout was a nail-biter, staying exciting right until the end, when-

When the poor summer's ISP decided to pull a cruel prank and suffer an outage in the final moments. All credit to the simmer, who got us back up and running as fast as possible, but, while the result is known, the end of the Tidal-Battleborn match will remain shrouded in mystery. San Diego moves on, but not without Nevada putting up an incredible fight.

And speaking of incredible fights, we had one match up move all the way to Game seven. Ottawa and Colorado traded wins through the playoffs, and it all came down to one final match. Colorado opened up scoring with that all-important first goal, but Ottawa responded in force. Five goals, including a Spaceman Spiff hattie, stood between Colorado's two tallies, and in the end Colorado found themselves unable to mount a solid response. Ottawa comes out of seven games the victor.

Can't wait to tune in to the second round!

Task 6: https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=140503

Task 7: I watched the stream of round 1 of the SMJHL playoffs. There were no surprises, as all of the higher seeded teams won. This started with a routing of the Great Falls Grizzlies by the Quebec City Citadelles. The Grizzlies were able to steal a game 5 3-2, but for the most part every other game was a blowout.

My Nevada Battleborn didn't fare too differently from the Grizzlies. Matched up against the higher seeded San Diego Tidal, Nevada fell 4-2. They managed to win game 1 and game 5 6-2, showing at times they could dominate the matchup, but 3 of the Tidals wins were also far from close games.

My player, William Marshal, really showed up in this first sim. In game one he notched 2 assists and was a plus 1. A positive +/- is a rarity for Marshal. In game 2, Marshal was able to tally the Battleborn's only goal of the game. (156 Words)
