S80 SMJHL mPT #5 - Thank You - puolivalmiste - 01-13-2025
The regular season has come to an end, and that's always a nice time to look back and get some perspective.
It's also a good time to be thankful, or appreciative in some other way. You can use this thread to say something legitimately nice about someone else in the league.
(Sarcastic or otherwise toxic posts will not be awarded with TPE)

Id like to say thank you to a few people
firstly my locker room, theyve all been very inviting and lovely in every way
that includes my GMs, PyroAlpaca and Froste, whove been extremely patient and helpful to me, and for that im grateful
id also like to thank the rookie helpers in the s81 rookie chat, theyve been extremely kind and exceedingly helpful, all in a more than timely manner, which is uncommon in todays world, usually you pick two of the three and live with it, but Kahri, Cake, Ruggsy, Naomi, and Gwen all go above an beyond to make the user experience not only inviting, but really stress free, its to the point that they compete over who answers quicker, which theres not much else someone with little knowledge in a new space could ask for than people competing to answer you more quickly and better informed than the others with the same goal
Id like to thank Frenchie for being willing to speak to people in this league, with dignity, and treat people like people, having a leader like that is a great thing, and has made me love this league even more
Id like to thank my S81 classmates for the banter, and the competition
And, thanks to everyone who runs the league in general, its crazy how fluid in general this system is, this is a very polished machine, and i have no doubt itll continue this way for a very long time

First of all, a big thank you to the community in general just for being very welcoming and positive. Also, since Prime mentioned it, it's fun to have another player to banter with, haha.
Thanks to the GMs who I talked to in the build-up to the draft. I can say there were multiple teams I would have been happy to be on thanks to the positive impressions left on me. Some specific members, Gwen the head of Quebec's IIHF for inviting me into the discord and sending positive vibes, Seany too because we make fun of you, but you're well liked in the community for a reason. I thank my locker room for being fun, and I'm thankful to the J HO for being very quick in regards to the "creepy messages" I received from a now former member of the community. It goes a long way to making me feel safe and comfortable here. Then, big thanks to JFK and Fancey for taking the chance on me.
Now let's do that hockey.

I would like to thank all of the other DML channel members who are in the SHL. Without them, I wouldn't have found such a wonderful community of people. I would also like to thank the Kelowna Knights team members for having an amazing locker room. They made this entire season wonderful.

Thank you to the Tidal for drafting me this past season. I really like the group I was drafted in with as they’re all active and chatty in the locker room. SD is a really good GM and it’s super cool to be able to play on the same line as him this season. Tidal are a great group and I hope we can keep progressing each season!

Can I just give a huge thanks to the entire simmer team? Talk about a hard job. Those folks are always out there planning, troubleshooting, and working. Even when they're having issues with files that take hours to fix, they keep at it and still make sure the league gets its results, even if it has to happen at 11PM. That's some incredible dedication right there. I've had a great time this season just sitting back, relaxing, listening to the lo-fi of the day and watching the games roll past. Plus, the occasional stream with an announcer is always a treat, and it's a blast to get some color commentary going!
Shout out to you, simmer team! Great job!

It's time to thank @ghamss for getting me involved with the SHL and helping me find my home in Carolina, as well as answering so many of my questions. It has been a really cool experience to learn about how the league works, follow along with stats and scores, and slowly develop my player. It really brings me back to when I was playing organized sports in real life and it does feel like being a part of a real team. Also, developing players through writing/graphic exercises in the forum posts in exchange for TPE has been a great way to use the creative part of my brain in a different way these days. Feels like I'm just scratching the surface on this opportunity!
