Hockey Dreams of WannabeFinn - Chris-McZehrl - 03-16-2025

Number 7 is live. Thoughts about the Commish Creations (before being Commish and since being Commish). Today we look at WannabeFinn.

Kari Kekkonen - 1st Player = 1st Try

In Season 20 as we had the first massive reddit Draft, Kari arrived in the SHL. He was selected by the West Kendall Platoon with the 39th OVA. The Defender Karl did play 2 seasons for the West Kendall Platoon until he retired because of injury issues.

Kari his short Career Stats

Kekkonen did play in 52 Games and had 16 Points. He also racked up 102 Hits and 85 Shot Blocks. As defensive Defender his 0.16 Points per game is standard but his 1 Hit per Game and 0.85 Shot Blocks per Game as 3rd Line Defender were good.

Kaapo Kekkonen - the call of a true first career

Kaapo was drafted by the Los Angeles Panthers in Season 24 with the 20th OVA. Kekkonen did play all seasons for the Los Angeles Panthers but in his last season the Season 37 he was moved by Los Angeles during the season to the West Kendall Platoon. Kaapo was nominated for the Jeff Dar Trophy in Season 32 as he was one of the best Two Way Forwards in the SHL at this time.

Kaapo and the Stats

Kekkonen played in 702 Games and had 375 Points but also 1545 Hits and 117 Shot Blocks. With 0.53 Points per Game, 2.20 Hits per Game and 0.17 Shot Blocks per Game he was an all career two way forward. His best Season was in Season 32 as he was nominated for the Jeff Dar Trophy. He brought up 18 Goals, 28 Assists, 46 Points 183 Hits and 11 Shot Blocks.

Tatu Mäkelä - the first outside of the Kekkonen Family so far

Tatu arrived in Season 38 and was drafted by the Buffalo Stampede with the 1000th OVA (Head GM). He spent the total career in Buffalo and he won two Challenge Cups with the Buffalo Stampede. In season 46 the first and the second in Season 48. They also won the first ever Cups for Buffalo in the SHL. He also was All Star in Season 46 and was nominated for the Scott Stevens Trophy. A Season before he was nominated for the Aidan Richan Trophy as Most Improved Player. After Season 53 retired Tatu Mäkelä from the SHL.

Tatu with his Crushing Stats

Mäkelä played for Buffalo 700 Games and had 419 Points. Defensively he brought up 1256 Hits and 990 Shot Blocks. with 0.60 Points per Game, 1.79 Hits per Game and 1.41 Shot Blocks per Game Tatu was a very dangerous Two Way Defender in his career. His best Season he brought up in Season 46 as Buffalo won their very first Challenge Cup. He had 6 Goals, 36 Assists, 42 Points, 139 Hits and 73 Shot Blocks. His Career High in Goals was in Season 41 with 10.

Kolja Kekkonen - the SMJHL Career Player

Kolja was drafted by the Buffalo Stampede in Season 55 with the 1000th OVA (Head GM). He spent his total career in the SMJHL and did play for the Detroit Falcons and Yukon Malamutes. After his final Season in Season 57 with Yukon he retired. In Season 53 he won with Detroit the Four Star Cup.

Kolja his Career Stats

Kekkonen played 219 SMJHL Games and had 74 Points. He also racked up 153 Hits and 202 Shot Blocks.

Karl-Erik-Karl2-Wojtek Kekkonen or just KEKW Kekkonen

KEKW came in Season 59 to the SHL and was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres with the 1000th OVA (Head GM). He spent overall 14 Seasons in the SHL and his final Season he was at the Winnipeg Aurora. In Season 71 he won with Buffalo the Challenge Cup. After Season 74 KEKW Kekkonen retired from the SHL.

KEKW his nice numbers

Kekkonen played in 924 SHL Games and had 936 Points. With 389 Goals and 547 Assists. He also had 1014 Hits and 540 Shot Blocks. His amazing 0.42 Goals per Game, 1.01 Points per Game, 1.10 Hits per Game and 0.58 Shot Blocks per Game made him one of the most dangerous two way forwards in his career. He also marked 3.53 Shots per Game. His best production Season was in Season 68 as he had 47 Goals, 46 Assists and 93 Points.

Kal Akar Kekkonen - the current one

Kal Akar was drafted by the Buffalo Stampede with the 2nd OVA in Season 75. As SMJHL Rookie he won with the Detroit Falcons in Season 74 the Four Star Cup and this was surely a very good argument for Buffalo to take Kekkonen with the 2nd OVA. In the Offseason from Season 76 to 77 Kal Akar was traded from the Buffalo Stampede to the Seattle Argonauts. After that his SHL Career started in Seattle. He currently plays for the Argonauts.

Kal Akar his Career Stats in progress status

Kekkonen played in 326 Games so far and racked up 199 Points during that time. He also had 828 Shots, 333 Hits and 780 Shot Blocks. With 0.61 Points per Game, 2.54 Shots per Game, 1.02 Hits per Game and 2.39 Shots Blocks per game he is on a way to shatter his former Family Members from the SHL in some stats. He is actually having a strong career and he still can bring up many more seasons.
