Welcome to TSN Sportscentre! We have big news for the fans of the SHL, a off-season deal went down between the newly re-located New England Wolfpack and the West Kendall Platoon. The Platoon ship off former 1st Overall Pick Alexey Kovalenko to New England for a 2nd Round Draft Pick in Season 14 and Veteran Forward Peter Iannitelli. This comes off as shocking news as Kovalenko as the best defensive rookie and was certainly coming into form, but this trade had to be done do to "Attitude" issues. More from our Hockey Insiders.

Alright boys, this is a shocker. But anything can happen in the SHL.

Bob McKenzie: This is a fantastic trade for the New England Wolfpack. Kovalenko is expected to be"injured" the majority of the season at about 39 games. But getting a former 1st overall pick in the NWJHL and SHL is outstanding for this franchise. New England didnt give much up for Kovalenko. We know what this kid is about. He is a natural power forward that can score goals but also has a mean side to him. In his rookie sesaon before he got injured for a period of 5 games there he was leading the league in hits. Last season he played defense but we expect New England to play him in his natural position. This is the perfect player to fit into the "image" New England is known for and thats that tough hockey.

Darren Dreger: When this trade broke early in the morning, I was personally shocked. But there is rumors that this had to be done and the West Kendall Platoon couldnt move on with Kovalenko. There is apparent LR problems and this is what lowered the cost for Kovalenko. Usually you would have to give a 1st round pick and a promising prospect for a player like Kovalenko, but New England took advantage of the price and ran with it. I dont blame GM Maxfield though, players with LR problems should be traded to get a wake up call and Kovalenko has began the wake up call process.

Pierre LeBrun: Once again Kovalenko had some problems that he should easily deal with in New England. He was one of the most respectable and well mannered kids I talked to and I guess they just needed to move on. Like you guys said Kovalenko is recovering from a "injury" and will be out most of the season, around 39 games. Will suit up for the remaining 11 close to the end of the season. Either way it could be a good trade for both teams. New England gets another big player in Kovalenko and WKP could get a good player from the 2nd round pick as this upcoming draft is extremely deep.

Once Again here is the break down of the trade.
Alexey Kovalenko is a native from Russia, he was apart of the Montreal Impact team a few seasons ago that lost to the Kelowna Knights that went on a impressive run. Last season he was a top leader among hits and rookie scoring.

I like what New England is doing. Belial might have New England in top teams he want to go to. Actually before, I had Harford on the bottom of my list, as well as LA, but with the recent changes and such, they have both gone up my list of teams to go to
