- Sg Schultz - 06-16-2013 Welcome to Das Skate Netverk. On the show tonight, Hans Schultz will be announcing his top 12 dream destinations for this upcoming SHL draft. Before we bring Hans out into the studio to make his announcements, we’d like to talk about his NWJHL season and his team’s success so far in the playoffs. The Montreal Impact drafted Hans Schultz late in the first round. He was a small player from Germany who had a lot of dedication and motivation to play extremely well. Hans was named the Captain of the Montreal Impact, as the team was expecting him to lead the team both on and off the ice, and set a good example for the other players. Entering the season, he though of himself as an offensive Power Forward. However, as the season progressed his role on the team changed into a potent Two-Way forward. Hans was able to put up some incredible numbers on both sides of the ice on the second line, registering 86 hits, a +/- of 26, and accounted for 30 points; third highest on the team. Hans Schultz led the NWJHL regular season with his +/-, which couldn’t have been done without the amazing work of his teammates. In the post season, the General Manager asked Hans Schultz if he could play on the second pair defense. Without a second thought, Hans agreed to play defense, putting the team before him. So far, Hans has led his team in points with 7 accounted so far. His other stats are nothing to breeze over either, as he has a +/- of 7, 11 hits, and 6 shots blocked. Hans Schultz is proving in his starting year that he has what it takes to play any position on the ice, fill any role a team needs, and be a positive voice in the locker room as a leader and a person. : Without further ado, we bring you Hans Schultz to learn about his dream destinations! Hans: Thank you for having me on the show, I know it’s been a while since I’ve talked to the media about a big story. : It’s understandable, we know you’re very busy working hard to better yourself and to help lead the team to a Four Star Cup! So, enough with the chit chat Schultz, where are your dream destinations to play in the SHL; and why? Hans: This list is in no particular order Tier One The reason I put Minnesota in the top tier of my choices is because I believe they are an incredible organization. They have great players, and an awesome General Manager. They also boast some great history up in the rafters and in the Hall of Fame. They have a lot of players going into Free Agency this year, so I would either be able to start in a top six role or I’d be able to play a bottom six role, or even play on a defensive pairing. I can really do so many things in my career if I became a Chief, and I’d hope to bring them as many Cups as possible. Hamilton is another team that makes it into my top tier choices. I believe they are a skilled team, and even though they are in a rebuild, they managed to come in second place. If I joined Hamilton, I’d probably be on the fourth line, or I’d be sent down to the NWJHL, which wouldn’t be the end of the world for I’d be playing on my favorite team. The other kind of problem is I’d have to be forever known as the Second Schultz if I joined Hamilton. Who knows, maybe they’d want me to play defense so I they could eventually have a defensive pair of Schultz and Schultz. New England is the last team that falls into my top tier, and I know that most people might be shocked by this choice but I believe New England is going to be the team of the future. It’s hard to say if I’d fit into the team right away playing an important role, but I could see myself plugging into the fourth line my rookie year. I also have to give Ace Faulkner a lot of credit for my involvement in the league. He’s the one who got me to play in the SHL instead of the European leagues. I also feel I’d fit in well with the locker room they’ve established. My cousins also live in Boston, so going back to see them would be a real treat. I don’t think I’d be drafted to New England, but it is a top choice. Tier Two Toronto would be a very cool place to play. They have a top-notch General Manager, and a scary good core group of guys. If they drafted me I’d see myself playing another year in the NWJHL with my favorite team for they have rising stars coming out of the NWJHL currently. With that in mind, I probably wouldn’t fill a role for the team in the first couple of years, which wouldn’t bother me too much. The real reason they are in the second tier and not my top tier is because they don’t have a first round pick, and I have a feeling that I won’t be falling into the second round. Manhattan is the same song and dance as Toronto, I feel they are a very strong team but there would be no immediate place for me to plug in. I’ve become very good friends with some of the people in the locker room, so I know I’d enjoy it a lot. However, like I mentioned above, I don’t believe I’d fall into the second round, and Manhattan just so happens does not have a first round pick. They may trade up, but I doubt they would with such a talented group of players. Playing on an original team would be very cool; they have probably the most history in the SHL and have a superb General Manager and player core. If I was picked by the Jets I could see myself playing fourth line duty my rookie year. I know a few of the players in the locker room, so I would probably enjoy it there. I don’t know much else about the team to be honest; I’ve just heard some great things about them, so I believe they deserve to be in my second tier of choices. I think Los Angeles is a cool place to be; they have a fun group of guys in the locker room, and General Managers that are extremely skilled. I don’t think I’d be able to play in Los Angeles just because I don’t believe I’d go in the top three picks. There are too many skilled players that are being targeted by these teams, and Los Angeles doesn’t have another pick until the second round. Tier Three All of the teams in my third tier are here because I just don’t really know anything about them. When I came to the States I lived in Boston, and when I was drafted into the NWJHL I moved to Montreal; so all I know is the east coast, and I only know the west coast through stories. So this is probably the only tier that is actually in an order from “best” to “worst”. Also, almost none of these teams have a first round pick at the moment. Tier Four The teams in the fourth tier are not because I think the General Manager’s are awful, I think they are talented and smart individuals who have either faced continuous bad luck or were put into a bad situation. The West Kendall Platoon has been plagued with bad luck. They have made some favorable trades that over time have not panned out. Players are not happy with the situation, and I feel they have a lot to work with. I don’t know where I’d fit into this team, and I wouldn’t refuse to play for West Kendall, but I don’t think I’d be chosen first overall in the draft. Again there are too many skilled players that would go before me. Just to recap, I don’t hate the team or think poorly of the General Managers, I just don’t like the stories and bad luck surrounding the team at the moment. This team is in a similar situation, they’ve had a lot of bad luck and I don’t blame the General Manager. I’ve heard the horror stories of what the team was left in before the current General Managers picking it up and trying to fix it. However, with the current General Manager resigning, I’d like to see what happens with the team before I committed myself as a franchise player. They also don’t have a first round pick, so he chance I’d play in Vegas is extremely slim. Well, that’s my list, as you can see I’ve thought it out to the best of my ability. Obviously the teams can still move up and down in tiers, as they are not set in stone. I look forward to the upcoming Draft, and am excited to play tonight in game three of the Four Star Cup! I’ll hang around in the studio for a bit longer to answer any questions Code: Words: 1557 - GroupMeIsKindOfOkay - 06-16-2013 booo - Bayley - 06-16-2013 I hate you too. - Buster - 06-16-2013 You and Taylor broke my heart :( - Sg Schultz - 06-16-2013 Quote:Originally posted by Alex+Jun 16 2013, 05:54 PM--><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (Alex @ Jun 16 2013, 05:54 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->booo[/b] <!--QuoteBegin-Chive On@Jun 16 2013, 06:02 PM I hate you too.[/quote] I have nothing against the Renegades or the Blizzard, I just don't know much about your teams - Buster - 06-16-2013 Quote:Originally posted by Sg Schultz@Jun 16 2013, 06:08 PM YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TEAM IM ON? I have no reason to toy around with a team in the future, I want to sign a long term contract and be a fan favorite. |
