Philly wanted Schenn really bad and will be a franchise defenseman for them. Philly is already pretty darn good with the centre position and I think they would like this solid talented young return in places they may not be as deep in.

I think people here just love shooting down the leafs trade proposals. This one actually makes a ton of sense for both teams. Schenn is better for Philly now and the future.
They get the brotherly love in Philly. Luke will be a cornerstone on the backend for many years to come and Brayden will be a very very VERY good 2nd line centre behind Giroux, who as you know is awesome. Adding a 1st and a 2nd and there you go Philly. Good for your playoff run and good for your future. Toronto feels the same way except for the playoff thing.

He is great. But this team needs a young number one centre or one with potential really fast and right now. We got guys that can fill Schenn's spot (although not as good).

Couturier has a better two-way game and is a centre. That is really valuable right now for us.

Philadelphia doesn't need non-NHL players at this point. Especially 2013 firsts (if you're going to put in a 1stRP, then put in a 2012 first. Stop trying to cut corner lol).
