News coming out of West Kendall recently, as the newly acquired defenseman Jackson Turska has announced that he will play in the SHL for no more than two seasons.
"I told management, and I told the guys in the locker room already that I will be retiring no later than season 16. I say no later because if the front office decides that I can still be helpful to the Platoon cause, I would love to stay around for one more year in season 16. If they decide that there is no spot for me after this season, then I will retire after 15.
This is not a retirement speech yet, let me clarify that. Right now, my focus is on my team. I am focused on bringing a cup to this Platoon team that has worked so incredibly hard this off season. These guys deserve it, and the locker room is buzzing with energy to get the season started. I feel great, and I cannot wait to start that quest for the cup with these guys.

Turska's retirement will usher in a new era...one that the league has never seen before. The SHL will need to prepare for a family man, a man with a PHD in chemistry, a man who drives an Aztek car, A MAN WHO IS THE ONE WHO KNOCKS.
