Erik Nilsson plays in the Swedish Elite League.
Nilsson possesses a game that most General Managers strive to find within their Defensemen. It's always nice to have that offensive guy and it's always nice to have that Defensive shut down kind of guy, but wouldn't it be nice to have those 2 guys made up into 1? That's the case that we have here in Swedish Elite League All-Star defensemen, Erik Nilsson.
Swedish Elite League Erik Nilsson was selected 4th overall to the MODO Organization when he was only 16. Scouts across the league had his name circled around twice come draft day and MODO General Manager Markus Naslund spent hours on the phone as interest around Erik Nilsson was huge. However, at the end of the day Nilsson stood proud, smiling in a MODO jersey. After the draft, Naslund had explained his reasoning in drafting Erik Nilsson and that was quoted to have said..
"I've been to tournaments of his in prior junior leagues and he's just a noticeable presence on the ice. You feel him, you see him. You get the feeling that he's a lethal threat out on the ice. He's the complete package. He can pass, he can hit and he can score."
Erik Nilsson's statistics were very strong throughout his rookie season, as well as the duration of his Swedish Elite League career. He was the 2nd most picked player in the Swedish Elite League's Player Fantasy Draft and he was a rookie.

What to expect from Erik Nilsson
Expect big things from Erik Nilsson. Standing in at 6 foot 3, 224 pounds and the ability to check at 70, this boy will be throwing around his large frame every single night. Nilsson comes into a squad that is already and offensive powerhouse as they are currently 1st in the league for Goals For. The missing puzzle piece that the Vancouver Whalers were lacking some say was another solid defensemen to add to depth. Erik Nilsson is that and more! Karlsson not only has the defensive side to him, but he also can put up those big points - as seen in the juniors. Nilsson is determined to become a top defensemen within the remainder of the SMJHL season and become a known name within the pros.

"I would just like to once again thank everybody for the warm welcome to the league, as well as the interest from all those who expressed it. I would like to thank the Vancouver Whalers
