Board of Directors
We have a couple major announcements regarding the BoD. First of all, real life has hit spidey hard recently and he has decided to step down for a while(6 months or so). While he is away, Kez will be taking over as head of the BoD. I'm not sure if spidey will read this, but I just want to thank him for all of the amazing work he did to get the BoD back on track. I look forward to working with Kez, I know he'll do an amazing job as well. JayTee has also stepped down after being hired as MIN GM, so another big thanks to him for his time on the BoD.

Now this means that we will be adding TWO new members to the BoD. Once again we had some amazing applications. There were about 5 or so members that easily qualified for this position, so you can believe me when I say this was a tough decision.

The head office all voted and we are happy to announce Schultzy and Whikadoodle will be added onto the BoD, congratulations guys Cheers. These two guys have shown tremendous activity, as well as knowledge for this position, we feel like they are a perfect fit. Again, there were about 5 or 6 of you that were very close, so I hope no one is discouraged for not being chosen.

League Survey
Recently I sent out a league wide survey and it was EXTREMELY successful. I've already had over 100 surveys filled out in only two days. I'm sure I'll be getting plenty more over the next week or so. Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to fill it out.

Forum organization/layout
Overall, most people agreed that the layout was good, but that organization was lacking. Some popular comments people had for this questions:
-SMJHL stuff is burried and hard to find for a new user. Have the teams on the main page.
-Get rid of retirements from the Create a Player forum.
-Completely separate the SHL and SMJHL, with general discussion, etc. at the bottom.
-Forum cleanup.(old irrelevant topics are still pinned, too many unnecessary sub-forums)
-Have two separate pages for current PTs and claims.
-Rookie guide outdated.
-Better archiving.
-Junior teams added to the top of the skin.

PT System
Overwhelming support to change the PT system, see below for more details.

Rookie Mentors
Excellent feedback on the rookie mentors. Didn't have many complaints about this at all, all praise. Great job to everyone involved. I did however have a couple suggestions.
1)Have a list where you can see which mentor is with which member.
2)Sometimes new members that join mid-season/playoffs aren't being reached out to.

Regression
Mixed opinions here, but the majority want to see harsher regression. No changes will be made to this regression this season, but we will definitely be looking to change it during the off-season.

And some other suggestions that were unrelated to the first 4 questions:

-Opening up donations and having our own site.
-Better welcome message with a clean layout.
-Recreate bonus.

Please discuss below what you think of some of these suggestions, and feel free to post any suggestion that I may have missed.

PTs
PTs will be changed for next season, the idea proposed by FourFour has passed and will be in effect next season. If you missed his thread check it out here: http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showtopic=44290

Weaknesses
This is regarding this thread.
Weaknesses will be discussed in the head office this off-season. Details need to be worked out, but I'm confident that we will come to a decision that is fair for everyone.

Off-season Schedule
I'll have this up tomorrow night, anyone waiting to recreate and keep their player will be able to once the off-season schedule thread is up. Please just be patient for one more day.

Ask a Commish
Interview Byrdeman: Has the SHL ever thought about linking the site to a PayPal to get donations or nah?

I've thought about it, but the only way I'd ever do this is if we decided to have our own website. It's definitely a possibility, but we need to right people to make it work.

Interview Bluesboy71: Do you have any ideas for recruiting people?

On a large scale? No, not really. If you are asking advice on how you can individually get more recruits then I'd recommend reddit, EA forums, PMing individuals on HFboards, EHM leagues, and even just messaging people on NHL 15.

Interview jaladolar: Equipment, and is it a hard stat increase or is it fluid TPE like other training? The issue arose because some of us took it as TPE and moved the points to more beneficial stats (i.e. penalty shot [for a defender] to skating, etc.).

Is it a stat increase, or is it TPE when you purchase equipment?

It is TPE, if anyone took it as a hard stat increase please report it to me right away.

Have any questions for next week? Post them HERE.

And that about does it for this week Cheers. Just a reminder that the SHL draft is 11/11/2014 @ 7:45 PM EST. Also big congrats to my team the Texas Renegades for winning the S20 Challenge Cup :D.

So when will new media payout rules be put into place? Can I post an article now and get the new pay? Or will I need to wait for next season to officially start?

Well PT payouts have changed. I assumed there would be similar payouts for media articles. Could be wrong.

- Lunaro - 11-10-2014

What does PT have anything to do with media?

- Spangle - 11-10-2014

WHIIIIIIIIIKKKKK!

Congrats to Schultz as well.

If theres a point task where 500 words = X amount, why wouldnt a media article with 500 words = X amount....

This is what im asking. Not sure why this is a hard concept to grasp.

- FourFour - 11-10-2014

I think media is gonna stay as a money payment. The media payout scalenismposted in SMJJHL media its a roughly the same as the shl payout.

Glad to see my pt idea implemented. However kinda disappointed i didnt get the BoD gig but that a the way she goes

Because PT's are for TPE while media articles are cash payouts and not relevant to PTs in general considering media can be about anything you want while PTs are a one-time task centered around a topic? The whole PT suggestion was about a restructure of capped / uncapped payouts for PT's to reduce people writing crap for the sake of hitting the uncapped limit.

Restructuring the media payouts was brought up when Dog did his whole copy pasta thing but I don't think there was ever a conclusion to that?

we concluded dogs copypasta thing was annoying, and that media payout would stay the same for the most part
