I think the best compromise is to add a cool donor badge if they donate a certain amount, and also just acknowledge their donation (if they want to be identified) in a separate thread. Even create a secret section of the forum just for "donors" if you want.

Donor icon/badge/award thing coming soon. Not sure if it should be just one icon without a dollar amount or if it should be specific to the amount donated.

Donations are going to be listed in a new thread inside a new subforum.

Best idea is to make the donor sign the same for everyone, but you get it only once you reach a certain amount (which you guys would obviously decide). The thread should be given to anyone who donates, minus donating a penny or something that is comical of course.
