- WannabeFinn - 07-11-2015 <div align="center"></div> 7 games ago the Detroit Falcons' executives decided to switch up the forward lines, reuniting power forward winger Ray Pejonis with power forward center Kaapo Kekkonen on the 2nd line. The two had previous chemistry but the past 7 games have been something else. With plenty of offense and physicality the two have dominated the SMJHL in true Detroit fashion. Let's break down their performances. Game 1: Starting with a shootout loss to the Prince George Firebirds, Pejonis and Kekkonen combined for 3 points. Kekkonen tied the game with his 17th of the year while Pejonis fed him the puck early in the 3rd period. Game 2: In the next game against St. Louis, one of the best teams in the East, Pejonis and Kekkonen's production exploded. The pair of power forwards combined for 3 goals and 7 points en route to a 7-3 win at home. They were deservingly awarded the 1st and 2nd stars of the game. Game 3: Up next was a road game against Vancouver. Kekkonen potted 2 goals with Pejonis adding a primary assist on one of them. The Falcons lost in OT but the pairing combined for 11 shots on goal, 3 points, and plus ratings. Game 4: With the series heading home the Detroit Falcons defeated the Vancouver Whales 4-2 in a game that saw 2 goals scored by Kekkonen, both feauring a Pejonis primary assist. 4 games after being reunited, Pejonis and Kekkonen had combined for 17 points. Game 5: Then the streak finally ended. In a home win against St. Louis, 5 games after being placed together, Kekkonen nor Pejonis tallied a point. The two combined for 3 shots on goal and 5 hits while playing ~19 minutes. Game 6: St. Louis couldn't shut down Detroit's 2nd line for long though. In the 44th game of the season Kekkonen and Pejonis once again exploded. Combining for 7 points, 8 shots on goal, and 6 hits the power forwards demolished the opposition on their way to another 1st and 2nd stars of the night award. Game 7: In their most recent game the two were held scoreless despite playing a solid possession game with physicality. Kekkonen won 15 of 28 faceoffs and the Falcons' duo combined for 4 hits with a blocked shot but neither could register a point. Overall: Over the past 7 games Detroit's 2nd line has been absolutely rolling. Pejonis and Kekkonen each tallied a monstrous 12 points, combining for 24 points in merely 7 games. Watch out for this line come playoffs time, because they're heating up just in time to do some serious damage against their Eastern Conference opponents.
