(Please Grade, First Post)

Reports are coming in that 18 year old Carson Shmyr is making waves lately with a AAA Midget hockey team in Germany.

Shmyr has been under the watchful eye of many German Elite teams, chasing after his talent, but being scared to draft the older player. Shmyr plays a hard hitting, playmaking game, full of passing and elite skating ability. This year with the Berlin Contacts of the German Midget Elite League (GMEL) Shmyr hounded down 27 Goals and 59 Assists for 86 Points in only 41 Games. He lead the Contacts to a league leading 35-3-3 record (73 points) and a league Championship.

Leaving his Midget days behind him, Shmyr hopes to be drafted into the SHL as well as signed by the German International Team for the coming years. Another of his hopes is to sign a big contract with a contending SMJHL team. His parents had a few words to say below.

Roode Jansen (RJ) - How do you feel of your sons performance in the past few years?

Jeff Shmyr (JS) - Carson has performed magnificently throughout his year, and it's been a pleasure this year to watch him. He's really grown.

RJ - Did any Major League scouts come and talk to you about your son, and possibly drafting him?

JS - We had a few scouts approach us, but it didn't seem like many appeared one hundred percent interested in using a first or second round pick on him. He's still very available it seems.

RJ - Impressive! Right out of Midget AAA for him.

JS - Yup. It might seem weird he is still in Midget AAA at this skill level, but Carson stressed wanting to stay with his friends in Berlin.

RJ - Does Shmyr have any friends outside of the German Hockey Program?

JS - He has a few, the most notable Julian Lindgren from Sweden. The two met at an International All-Stars tournament in Norway last year. They bunked together and hit it off immediately.

RJ - Interesting, one more question for you. How has life been with traveling for international tournaments this year?

JS - It's been busy. We've had tournaments up in North Germany, Norway, Sweden, and most notably the second International All-Stars Tournament in Boston.

RJ - That's right, Carson did play for the German squad at the American Invitational.

JS - Sure did. Scored 3 goals and added 4 assists for the team too. Not enough to win them a Bronze Medal.

RJ - Lost to Sweden, correct?

JS - That it would be.

RJ - A pleasure talking to you Mr. Shmyr

JS - You as well

Shmyr is anxiously awaiting a decision for which team he will sign with of the SMJHL in the coming year. Next stop, North America.

If you want, you can have other people on the site ask your player questions. This is a good way to get more exposure and stuff.

EDIT: As another article, I mean. This one was cool, it's a different take on an interview. Remember, always thank your parents after giving a speech.

Already giving out advice to other players, that C fits you well.

Welcome to the SHL Carson, good luck and hopefully you get signed to a good team... like the Whalers.
