As a player, Mikko Linna still has a lot of room to grow. He went from playing on the second line, to playing on the first line after the Knights traded two of their key players. Here’s a look at his stats for the pre-season, regular season, and post-season.

In the pre-season, Linna played 286 minutes in 16 games. He was second in team scoring with 14 points (6 goals and 8 assists) with a shot percentage of 17.14% out of 35 shots taken. He had 8 power play points in 56 minutes of power play time (4 goals and 4 assists). He had a plus/minus rating of +2. He took 20 hits, made 3, and blocked 1 shot. His PIM total was 2 minutes. He was ranked 6th in points out of all right wings and second out of all rookies. He was ranked 5th in pre-season power play goals and second in empty net goals.

In the regular season, Linna played 967 minutes in 50 games. He was third in team scoring with 33 points (15 goals and 18 assists) with a shot percentage of 11.63% out of 129 shots taken. He had 7 power play points in 201 minutes of power play time (3 goals and 4 assists). He had a plus/minus rating of +8. He took 47 hits and made 46. He blocked 2 shots. He had a PIM total of 20 minutes. He was ranked 3rd in rookie scoring and had the second highest point scoring streak at 8 games.

In the post-season, Linna played 262 minutes in 13 games. He was third in team scoring with 9 points (5 goals and 4 assists) with a shot percentage of 26.32% out of 19 shots taken. He had 2 power play points in 58 minutes of power play time (both goals). He had a plus/minus rating of +4. He took 10 hits, made 5, and blocked 1 shot. He had a PIM total of 2 minutes. He had the 3rd highest shot percentage overall, was ranked 8th overall in right wing scoring, was ranked 3rd overall in rookie scoring, despite the fact that his team was eliminated in the second round.

Linna’s on ice performance will only continue to improve. He would be a great addition to any team looking for a two-way forward.
