In my first of three draft profiles, I will be focusing on some of the bigger names in the upcoming SMJHL draft, as there are multiple big name SHL members looking to bring their new players along and should see their names called fairly quickly during the draft.
G - Jason Aittokallio

A player brought in by prominent member and community simmer JayWhy, Jason Aittokallio is a dynamic talent at the goalie spot that has a chance to assert himself as not only the top overall pick in the SMJHL draft, but the SHL draft as well when he reaches that level. A talented all-around hybrid goalie, Aittokallio has little weakness in his game, although he isn't the best skater in the world. Look out for him to be the first player selected in Monday's draft.
C - Joey Ryan
Another big name member in Buster has brought in the second subject of our article, power forward Joey Ryan. Ryan is a high effort player that is willing to sacrifice the body on defense, and crush the bodies of others with his highlight-reel hits. The playmaking aspect of his game goes largely under-appreciated as well. It'll be interesting to see how well Ryan's style translates onto the ice after reports that he couldn't perform a single pull-up in the SMJHL scouting combine.
D - Brynjar Tusk
The player of SHL GM ThatDamnWalrus, Brynjar Tusk is a quality defensive defenseman that should go in the top half of the first round. Always in the right position and ready to lay a guy out when the time calls, Tusk also has understated potential as a passer and is a sneaky good puckhandler. He'll never have a ripper of a shot, but he possesses enough talent to help a team win a lot of games.
