The rivalry between the New England Wolfpack and the West Kendall Platoon was well-known, though most believed it to be good-natured, and not the result of any bad blood between the two teams, so when it came time for the game few were expecting any punches to be thrown, especially since this was their first meeting of the regular season. As the game started, things seemed relatively normal. Fast, clean, exciting hockey. But that all changed in the third period. After winning a battle in the corner for the puck and shoveling it back out of the zone, Wolfpack defender Jasper Clayton heard a comment come from behind him. "What the fuck is with you and Rainbow Douche." The voice was familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. As he turned around, he realized he was face to face with the much taller, much bigger, much hairier Bojo Biscuit. "The fuck did you just say?" Clayton asked. "You heard me," retorted Bojo. "Just stay the fuck out of my way," Clayton shot back. He began to skate away when he heard one last comment from behind him. "Real men know Rarity is where it's at." That was all it took. Clayton whipped around and skated back to Biscuit and the gloves went fighting. When all was said and done the fight was deemed a draw, but the bad blood between these two hasn't died down yet, and it's safe to say we haven't seen the last of the scraps between these two. - ccarico - 10-24-2016 ![]() hockeyis66 & @leo Senpai Kinda Shit submission, but I played with it for a while and couldn't get something I loved :\ - ToeDragon84 - 10-25-2016 ![]() - Jenny - 10-25-2016 Oh. My. God. You guys. Okay, so I know S34 has been pretty depressing so far--for one, why is everyone always fucked injured? Like, can't we turn those off?--because, you know, the good ship Lindvik seems to have BLOWN ITSELF UP this summer. At this point in the regseason I'm GLUED to the screen every time West Kendall and New England are playing each other, hoping for ANY kind of interaction. (Side note to this post, has anyone seen Mikko's Mia glove lately?? BECAUSE I DON'T THINK HE WAS WEARING IT TONIGHT.) Anyway, they didn't talk during warmups again (angie maxibae was there and can confirm), and by the time the third period rolled around and nobody had scored, my entire Twitter timeline was MELTING DOWN. WK scored two and the toonies all chilled out a bit while the NEW fans cried, but nobody, and I mean nobody, was expecting Poussey to throw down the gloves like that with THREE MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME. I repeat, West Kendall was WINNING. And this might be my Mia stan heart talking, but I know she's a little shit, and she didn't DO ANYTHING TO INCITE THAT AT ALL. SHE WAS JUST. ON THE ICE???? SKATING???? AND POUSSEY CAME FOR HER? and thoroughly beat her ass, too, I'm pretty sure I saw blood on that beautiful face when she was in the penalty box. K SO MY POINT IS THAT I NEED TO TALK THEORIES. POUSSEY WAS CLEARLY DEFENDING LINNA'S HONOUR Y/MFY? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? SOMEBODY GET ME 50K ON MY DESK BY MORNING. - Phobospwns - 10-25-2016 I'm really disappointed I can't look back at the indexes and find out who it was I fought back in S29. Oh well... I guess I'll be writing about looking forward to a fight with someone instead. If you ask Conklin Owen who it is he would like to go toe to toe with out on the ice, he'll come back at you with a quick answer... Danny Foster (GCool). Since joining the league Foster has seemed to have some beef with the winger with the slickest shot in the SMJHL. Maybe Foster is jealous of Owen's good looks, his speed on skates, or that shot. Maybe it's all forwards Foster has a bone of contention with... they get all the glory when they score, like the lead singer of a band; while defensemen are expected to do their job, and get shit on when they don't- like an overlooked drummer. Whatever the reason, Foster's never been one to hold back on hassling Owen on the ice, and sometimes even off it. Yet, with all the smack talk, bumping into him "on accident" at the bar, or trying his hardest to go home with Owen's sister Foster does... the two players have never seen fit to trade fistacuffs for some reason. Maybe that's because they're going to be teammates in the near future, having both been drafted to Texas, and both likely to come up in the same year. Some might see that as a reason to stay out of trouble with one another- but why not go ahead and get it all out while they've still got the chance? Who hasn't fought with someone only to later become their friend? I say let loose, and work it out, on the ice, with your fists. Hopefully the fight will one day come to fruition. Foster's known for throwing his weight around, but Owen has only been on a single scrap in his 2.5 years in the SMJHL. The smart money would be on the former, but I think the latter is fully capable of coming out on top- if not well thrashed himself. From what I've seen, Foster's got a glass jaw, catch him just right, and he's going down in a heap. That's how I see this ending... - KleslaR - 10-25-2016 Code: 535 words. S31 Playoffs Round 1 Game 5: Montreal Militia vs St. Louis Scarecrows Ryan Vas vs Danny Foster. Its the playoffs again and the Montreal Militia are once again taking on the St. Louis Scarecrows. Tensions are running high as Montreal narrowly edged the Scarecrows last season by beating them in Game 7, in the game where legends are born. It is now game 5 of this series and both teams have thrown a lot of hits, both teams have talked a lot of trash and both teams want to win this series almost as much as they want the cup; Both teams have so much to prove that every time they've played in this series, whether in Montreal or St. Louis, reporters have noted that both buildings have come extremely close to getting their roofs blown off by the atmosphere that has been going on. It is the middle of the game, right in the heart of the second period and noted fighter Danny Foster has just noticed that Montreal Militia center Filip Granlund does not realize that Foster is coming in for a gigantic hit. Foster slides into the hit and he crushes Granlund to oblivion with a bone crushing hit that sent the crowd in St. Louis into a frenzy. But Granlund is not okay, he is slow to get up. And Montreal Militia captain Ryan Vas notices this and immediately does one of the dumbest things in his career so far; He shouts at Foster, who turns around in time to see Vas coming at him and Vas drop his gloves. Foster smiles and spends less than a millisecond hesitating before dropping the gloves for what should be an execution; Danny Foster the executioner and Ryan Vas, the man who is about to lose it all. But despite the fact that Danny Foster lands three devastating haymakers right on Vas' left cheek, he seems unscathed and he actually seems to be more furious than before. And Ryan Vas wastes no time as he unloads a series of punches right onto Danny Foster's face, breaking his nose and cutting his lip. But Danny Foster has been here before and he's not easily shaken. He lands another two punches, this time on the right side of Vas' face but Vas responds with a devastating haymaker right on the jaw on Danny Foster and at this point Foster decides to end the fight and he wrestles Vas to the ice. And as the referees scramble to separate the two, only Ryan Vas hears the whisper from Danny Foster "You didn't suck. Well done." And Vas responds "Good fight. I hope you're hurting as much as I am." The men exchange a final look of respect and after that they skate into the penalty boxes to serve their major penalties. The crowd is going wild, the broadcasters are going insane and both benches know: This series just took a turn for the better. Only now has the series truly started. Filip Granlund smiles as he skates in to take another faceoff. He throws a smile towards Vas who is sitting in the penalty box before winning the faceoff against St. Louis. Game on, boys. Game on. - mstuk41 - 10-25-2016 Over the course of two seasons - S29 into S30, Nicholas Pedersen found himself in four fights with the same player. his arch nemesis (apparently the sim seems to thing so, even though I have nothing against him at all) Maxim Horvat. Over the course of these fights, we have seen Pedersen win two of them, ending Horvat's career with Texas before he got shipped to Seattle, where the two fought two more times, once in the regular season ( a draw) and once again in the playoffs, which Pedersen bested Horvat again, as well as won the series, and went on to win the Cup. However, the last time these two goons squared off was last season with Horvat now playing for the LA Panthers, a place where Pedersen once called home. The outcome this time was very different. Horvat was declared the winner after taking off his skate and attempting to murder Pedersen for causing him so much suffering over the past two season. Without the outside influence of a weapon, this would have gone down as the final knockout in the 4 bout circus. But since Hovat had to stoop to such a low, Pedersen has vowed to end it once and for all. So far this season, Horvat has been ducking him in the games they have faced off against each other. For good reason, hes got an ass beating coming to him. In his very first game, of the preseason of S30, he thought that he should send a message to the league. He wasn't going to be another squishy, scared, little punk entering the big leagues. He was going to stand up for himself. Be a man. Prison rules, pick out the biggest dude and knock his block off. (Given that the index is broken, some of these details may be fabled). Bearss was just signed as a free agent, so naturally he was tossed onto the 4th line. It was the first period against the Detroit Falcons, and he found himself across from the top pairing defensemen. Earlier in the game, Haywood Jablome of the Falcons crushed Bearss' friend Adam Kaiser into the boards. Bearss and Kaiser go way back to their childhood days, so seeing this happened fueled his hate fire. At that moment, he thought it was as good as time as any to drop the mitts and take on their top line defender. It was a learning experience (mistake) as Bearss got creamed. He came out with fists flying. I'm not sure if had ever tried to throw a punch on skates before, but needless to say he almost face planted himself onto the ice with that first swing. He found his bearings and got a few decent punches in, and then Jablome noticed that Bearss was trying to fight..and 1. 2. 3 punches to the nose, cheek, and chin and it was game over. Lights out. Thanks for coming out. - TheLastOlympian07 - 10-25-2016 There has been one very upset Winnipeg Jet on the loose this year. That is defenseman Connor O'Reilly. He has been in a league leading 6 fights this year but has only managed to win one fight. That is how the Jets season is going as well to be honest. Fight fight fight but only win the odd game here and there. Connor O'Reilly and Alex Mack fought to a draw in Game number 3 for the Jets, a game in which they lost 6-5 in a shootout. When the two teams met 4 games later, Connor O'Reilly and Alex Mack fought to another draw but the Jets ended up with the 4-2 win. In Game 65, Connor O'Reilly was again dropping the gloves with Lord Vader of the Texas Reegades. It was a draw but the Jets won 2-1. In game 79, Theo Kane of the Edmonton Blizzard and Connor O'Reilly went at it not once but twice! The first fight was a draw but in the 2nd fight, Connor beat up Theo Kane and beat him up bad. RIP Lunaro. The Jets were shutout 3-0 though. RIP Jets. His most recent fight was in 3-2 loss to the Portland Admirals. O'Reilly ended up dropping the gloves with Evgeni Yakimov which resulted in a draw. Overall, I think the Jets are 2-2-2 in game which O'Reilly fights. He should fight more often in my opinion but he should win more. Finishing first on the team, and 8th in the league for hits, he went relatively unnoticed. It wasn’t until S31 when Vasily began to establish himself in the SMJHL that people began seeing what he could do for his team. Right around the half way mark of the season someone finally took notice and decided they wanted to make a statement with the young winger. Game 70 between Kelowna and St. Louis started like any other. After the first period St. Louis enjoyed a one goal game. Only 1:50 into the second period it was another sophomore, Nate Akeson who decided he was going to be the one to stop Horvat. They both dropped the gloves, and slowly began looking for openings in their opponent. Akeson threw the first punch, but it was Horvat who threw the last. By the end of the game Kelowna had used Horvats momentum and turned around a one goal deficit into a 5-1 beating on the Scarecrows, like the one Horvat put on Akeson. Now Horvat has fought twice, both being devastatingly one sided. Horvat may not be a major heavy weight in the SHL but he is looking to be a premier middle weight who can do more than just throw the body and fists. Code: Word count 231 - bilbo - 10-25-2016 It was season 30, Dieter Dominique's final season with the Kelowna Knights, and the team had been off to a great start in the beginning of the regular season. Now entering the second half, the team was still going strong, but Dominique was surely frustrated that he couldn't manage more points for his team, not to mention he had over-exhausted himself from playing the most minutes of anyone on the team. When it came time for Kelowna to face the Detroit Falcons, the Kelowna GMs decided to take Dominique down to the second line to try and stir up some new line chemistry. That was the first mistake, apparently. The second mistake for this game was that forward player Nucky Toohoots of the Falcons decided to hit multiple teammates by the end of the middle of the second period (I think it was second). Knowing that he wasn't doing well in the season and that some PUNK was checking his teammates really grinded Deets' gears. Dominique has never been one to fight--he leads by quiet example and keeps his emotions in check--but Toohoots just really got under his skin. All of the sudden, the gloves were off, and SMJHL fans and players around the league remember quite well the day Dieter Dominique literally beat the shit out of Nucky Toohoots. A major five-minute penalty was given to Dominique and the Knights ended up losing that game. Even though they lost, many Knights teammates will tell you that the fight pumped them up for the next few games, and obviously, it led them to the President's Trophy, so maybe violence is sometimes the answer? In either case, Dominique's knuckles are still hurting, but he hopes he and Toohoots can chalk it up to just being part of the game, and if not, well, he probably won't be too angry the next time Toohoots tries to take a hit at him. |
