After seasons of trying to build a team off of passing forwards, the Riot have decided that maybe having a forward that can score would be a good idea. Being a lowly rookie with no actual skill, the goal scoring burden has fallen on me. So here I am, after two seasons of putting off the inevitable $8M strength change, finally being forced to do a presser to earn some money.

Please ask me some questions :D

They can be as simple as "Why do the Riot suck?" or "Why are you such a scrub?"

I’d now like to provide a brief description of my season and player just to get my word count up a little bit. The season started out with me playing alongside Gooney and Urbo while Orlov was serving his 5 game suspension for tampering. This was probably not a great line for breaking into the league as this was mine and Gooney’s first experience in the big leagues. We managed to put up I think 2 maybe 3 goals in the 5 games that we played. A mediocre amount, but at least it was better than nothing. Then Orlov got back to take over to center for me and Urbo. Our pace may have picked up a bit, but not that significantly. Orlov was a defender that was playing up for the season due to our lacking of forwards. It weird to have a defenceman playing center for me all season. Orlov took a while to get adjusted, but around mid season we found a bit of a groove. Our line got a little bit of offence going. Even though we didn’t produce that much, we were created more as shut down line, so as long as we played defence we were doing our jobs. All three of us, Orlov, Urbo, and me had a positive plus minus throughout the season, so it looks like we did our jobs well. I realize that plus minus is a bad stat, but it can provide a bit of context. I am not sure about my linemates, but by the end of the season I had reached 9 goals and 9 assists, which was little heartbreaking to not crack 10 of one of the categories, but there’s always next season. This goal total was good for about 5th or 6th on the team, which exceeded my expectations coming into the season. Next season, I will not being playing with a defenceman playing center for me, so hopefully I can pick up my production a little bit. I think Just Sirmais, Rask, and I will be a very successful second line. Hopefully, we can provide some solid scoring for the team, so that Brumm and Lloren don’t need to score every goal again for us. I have high hopes for the Riot coming into next season, although we have the exact same roster so it will probably end up fairly similar to last season.

McZ (<a href='index.php?showuser=184' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Chris-McZehrl</a>) aks:
maybe :-?

I have found that goal scoring can definitely help win games for a team. Since that legend McZ left Seattle, the poor fans have been starved for goal scoring. Luckily, Brumm and Lloren came along this season to feed them. But regardless the more scoring the better. To see how much one good goal scorer can affect a team just look at how amazing that Manhattan team is because of the hockey god that is McZ. McZ is probably the greatest talent the SHL has ever seen, he is the Rage. However, without McZ the Rage might not even make the playoffs. Not only is McZ a testament to the unbelievable things that a human being can accomplish, he is proof that all it takes to win games in goal scoring. I hope that one day, I can be even half the player that McZ is.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2397' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Samee</a> asks:
Best Riot player?

Gonna have to go with Patrick Brumm on this one. He had an absolutely fantastic last season. Him and Jed Lloren were basically our entire offence, but Brumm gets the edge on Lloren purely from points totals. Brumm scored 29 goals, only 4 more than Lloren, but 19 more than the third highest goal scorer. He also been very effective as the co-GM since his inauguration, which makes him all the more valuable to the team.

Worst Riot player?

Definitely Pablo Biznette. The guy’s got the ankle strength of a two year old. He basically crawls around on the ice his ankles are so bendy. Luckily, Abdeezy has his ability pegged and only let him on the ice for a total of 1 minute all season long. In that 1 minute, he accomplished nothing, obviously, so he has a nice stat line of all zeroes. Whether he was even able to keep up with the play during that minute is something I will never be able to tell you. I hope to see him get even less ice time next season. Despite all this, he managed to negotiate a 500k contract extension for himself.

When are you going to ask for a trade to Portland?

Probably never, I don’t see how I can move from Seattle to a budding rival just across the border. Seattle’s got a bright looking future, and I’d rather show my love for Otto by wiping the floor with his team.

Or when are you going to tell Otto to ask for a trade to Seattle?

I’m not going to tamper Otto. So also probably never, unless he’s a free agent then I’ll tamper away.

Who was the bastard who split u two up?

I don’t know if there was one single bastard. If I had to choose one person in particular though, it would be Kez. Kez had the opportunity to bring me and Otto to one of the most fashionable cities in the world, Manhattan. But, he decided that drafting for his team’s needs was a better use of his draft picks. Our relationship was doomed to be a tragedy all along, we are meant to love from across a border. Maybe one day we’ll meet up again in the afterlife that is retirement.

Oranges or Tangerines

I don’t think I’ve ever actually eaten a tangerine before, so I’m going to have to go with oranges on this one. There’s something about an orange that is very refreshing and rewarding. I think it’s the fact that you have to peel it beforehand; makes you feel like you accomplished something.

What do you miss most about Kelowna?

I miss the comfort of having you and EJ as GMs. <a href='index.php?showuser=11' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Abdeezy</a> and <a href='index.php?showuser=1627' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>probablydrunk</a> just don’t pull off the mother role like you two. It’s just not the same. I also miss winning a championship.

How is the Wilson-Otto fashion twinz bromance faring over the distance between Portland and Seattle?

<a href='index.php?showuser=2279' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-54'>tweedledunn</a>
I’m not gonna lie, it’s been rough. That 2 and a half hour drive is a lot more strenuous than the 5 second walk that I could do while we were on the Knights. Not every story can be a happy one, I guess maybe ours is doomed to be a tragedy. We are so close, but yet it feels like we’re worlds apart. It’s as if Abdeezy is my Capulet and Wally is Otto’s Montague. I cannot escape the Riot house and Otto cannot escape the Admiral house, we were drafted to be bitter rivals, it could never be. All we can do to show our love in these tough times, is to drop the gloves. It provides a fleeting moment of just us. But that is life, it is not enough. Maybe one day, Otto will pass into the realm of retirement, where he can await me, after our separation becomes too much for him to bear. I will find him sprawled out on a lawn chair in his beautiful home in Furstenfeldbruck, and it will be such a heart wrenching sight to see him in retirement. At that sight, I will take the ultimate commitment and pull up a lawn chair beside him. And slowly, I will sip that wonderful German beer easing me into retirement, where we can be together again.

What’s your favourite place to hang out in Seattle?

I would like to say one of the sightseeing places, such as the space needle or Pike Place Market, but now that I have lived there for a year the luxury of those places has worn off. I always find myself wondering around the streets looking for a nice small cafe/coffee place to spend my time. I love a good cafe, they’re a great place to relax. Back when I was with Kelowna the Tim Hortons was my good to location, I know I know, not a cafe, but it’s Tim Hortons; that’s better than any cafe in my book. Unfortunately, Seattle doesn’t have Tim Hortons, and Dunkin Donuts is just weak. I have found Brouwer’s cafe to be a nice place to hangout in the late afternoon, with their wide selection of beers. I nice casual pint is something that Timmy’s just can’t compete with. It is the morning or afternoon, I prefer Caffe Ladro, just down the street from Brouwer’s. They consistently produce some great coffee and baking. I'll always be looking for more places to add to my list, but those are currently my top brewery and cafe.

Give each of your teammates a superlative (funniest, most likely to do something stupid, etc etc etc).

I’d say:
Brumm is most likely to be drunk.
c is most likely to write a love story about me.
Mac is most likely to show me his legs.
Lloren is probably doing something responsible
Urbo is most excitable

I know I missed a bunch of people, but I couldn’t think of anything witty to say about them.

<a href='index.php?showuser=1627' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>probablydrunk</a> asks:
Which current Riot would you trade and why? What would be your desired return?

Looking for some trade ideas, are you? I’d probably trade Benson if we’re out of contention at the deadline, since he seems like he’s going to test the free agency. I’d expect maybe a mediocre to solid younger player, or maybe a draft pick, I don’t really know. Although, I think we’ll be in contention come that time, so I don’t really have any trade ideas. If I had to say one for sure though, it would be Pablo Biznette or Danny Ridley for a bag of pucks, maybe even less.

If Abdeezy died and I moved the team to San Jose and rebranded as the San Jose Silicone Waffers, how fast would ask out?

First I would ask “what is a Silicone Waffer?” Regardless of the answer I would most likely request a trade. In fact, my PM after the relocation would probably look something like this:

Hey brumm,
Wtf is a Silicone Waffer? Like a waffle made of silicone or something?
Regardless, I’d don’t think I can play for a called the Silicone Waffers, can you trade me elsewhere? Here’s the four teams I won’t let you trade me to: Berlin Bears, Siberia cs, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Flint Flamingos. Thanks. Good luck.

What doesn’t the SHL know about Tequila Trev?

Tequila Trev is a ghost of my past. He was an omen that was brought out during the pre junior days. My team went on a trip to Mexico to celebrate our championship. I learned that liquor dispensers in an all inclusive hotel are both deadly and amazing. Tequila and championships with boys are a combo that leads to some poor decisions. This was right before the SMJHL draft and due to a few photos getting out, I ended up dropping from a top 3 pick to 16th overall. One thing that Tequila Trev was surprisingly good at was ping pong. Here’s me destroying Alex Light in a game of ping pong. Notice the sunglasses, they provide a tactical advantage because the opponent can’t see where you are aiming.

In 5 seasons from now Trevor Wilson is the best Forward in the SHL, who is number 2 and why?

I gotta say Cory Knouse on this one, I don’t think there’s any other acceptable answer for this one. Knouse is basically Wilson 2.0 so it’s only fitting that he would be the second best winger in the league behind Wilson. That doesn’t really make sense though because 2.0 should mean better, but we’ll overlook that. Also, Knouse should be playing with Wilson on the first line at that point, so I’ll help inflate his stats with all my goals.

<a href='index.php?showuser=11' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Abdeezy</a> asks:
How would you describe your first year as a member of the Riot?

My first season as a member of the Riot was a great experience, would do it again. I found that I cared more about the team’s success that my personal success, unlike in juniors. This is probably because I’m not one of the go to players on the Riot and watching myself be mediocre isn't as enjoyable as watching our team succeed. Although, that’s not really a description of my season. I’d say my season started out a little rocky as I was working into my new role as a scorer. It was tough to get over the instinct to pass. As the season progressed, however, I became more comfortable and was able to provide a little bit of scoring from the third line. It was odd playing alongside a dman, Orlov, all season, I think that may have affected my performance a little bit. Now that Orlov’s off my line the sky's the limit. I joke (but not really). All in all, it was a fairly good season up until the heartbreaking ending. But that just makes me want to win a Challenge Cup this season even more.

What are your team and personal goals for this season?

I’d like to see the team hoisting the Challenge Cup at the end of the season, obviously. That, however, is not a great goal to set as everyone always wants to hoist the cup regardless of how their team looks. I think our team looks pretty comparable to last season; some people got worst, but other got better. I’m expecting a return trip to the playoffs this season, with hopefully a better finish. For myself, I’d just like to get either 10 goals or 10 assists, probably goals though based on my build. That 9 goals and 9 assists was a rough way to end. Based on my promotion to the second line and how much I have improved pretty this offseason I think breaking 25 points would be a reasonable goal, hopefully that’s not too much to ask.

Tell me how much you love your GM?

Brumm is an amazing GM. He killed it during the draft and I am excited to see what he will continue to bring to this team. The Riot are lucky that we have someone as competent as Brumm leading the team. If there’s one reason I want to remain on the Riot it’s because of Brumm. Also, that Abdeezy guy’s okay.

Are the rumors between you and Knouse true?

Are they are. It is true me and Knouse are actually brothers. We got the test back just yesterday. I have always been amazed at how similar he looked to me when he first joined the Knights. I figured we had to be related. We were separated at birth and Knouse was sent to Norway to be raised a viking, while I, the older brother, was kept back in Canada. It was by pure coincidence that we managed to get drafted to the same junior team and SHL team. Even more amazing, is that we play the same type of hockey game. Here’s a picture of us golfing from last season. As you can see, Knouse just doesn’t have the cuddly look to him like me; his beard’s just not on the same level.

<a href='index.php?showuser=1722' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Nereus</a> asks:
What is the strongest aspect of your game?

After this offseason, the strong part of my game will definitely be my shooting ability. I’ve been putting a lot of work into it and I hope it pays off. Shooting is a relatively new strength for me, however, so one part of my game that I’ve always been able to rely on is my defensive ability. I’ve always been a very defensively minded player, which has helped me greatly and wil continue to help me greatly.

What is the weakest aspect of your game?

Weakest aspect is definitely my physical game. My condition and overall strength are lacking from what is expected out of players in the SHL. I don’t like to admit it, but if I was given the opportunity to play 30 minutes a game, I would probably keel over and die after about 15 minutes. On top of that, I’m pretty terrible at hitting and getting the puck from people that way.

What are you going to focus on improving the most going into this next season?

As I just changed my player from a pass first to a shoot first type player, I will be working on making my shot more deadly coming into next season. Last season, I was very versatile and my passing abilities were about the same as my shooting abilities. This was a great thing for most teams, but the Riot need scoring, so I’d like to be a player that can produce some dependable depth scoring.

favorite character on Scrubs

Gonna have to go with JD on this one. I know it’s very uncreative as he’s the main character, but the way he wants to be black really speaks to me. I love JD and I don’t think any other of the characters on the show could pull off being the center of attention. He’s the one that sets the tone for the entire 8 seasons of the show. You just can’t beat a shirt like this.

Interview What do you think about the Riot’s recent draftees?

I am really liking the Riots draftees. I think it was an unbelievable draft. The LR was beginning to get a little empty with Mac and c being basically inactive for a while. You and Gala are exactly what this team needed to draft to secure a more solid future. And you were the one we were wanted the whole time, so I’m real glad that you fell to us.

Interview Will we be seeing you on Twitter at all in the upcoming season?

I will probably continue to put in the bare minimum effort on Twitter to get that $200k a week. My tweets have most definitely been getting weaker and weaker as my career progresses. I basically contribute nothing to the twitter community, we’ll see if I can turn that around, but it’s doubtful. I hope recently discovered that the Riot have a very old twitter page, so my tweets will probably become retweeting their old tweets as they become relevant throughout the season. I’m not sure if that makes my tweets better or worst overall.

Interview What do you think of the recent changes to the SMJHL playoffs? (Previously, the 4th team in each conference would play the 1st team in that conference, and the 2nd and 3rd would match up; now, the 4th team in each conference doesn’t make the playoffs, and the 1st team gets a bye for the first round.)

I don’t really like it that much. It creates a lot more down time for the teams that finish in 4th or 1st, so half the teams. Even as a first place team I would prefer to have a first round of playing against the 4th place team instead of sitting idle for a week while waiting to see who wins between second and third. The first place team usually beats the fourth place team handedly in the first round of the playoffs anyway, but both those teams get the excitement of having games to watch. The argument for changing it is that it brings competition to the regular season. This doesn’t really make sense to me because isn’t everyone already trying to play the best they can. It a sim league, it’s not like your player’s going to think “we’re in the playoffs anyway, I’m just gonna slack all season.” On top of that the regular season, isn’t the best indicator for who the best teams are in the SMJHL because of how much a player can change from the start to finish of the season. A team or individual player could start out being terrible, but then learn from their mistakes throughout the season because they know that playoffs is all that matters. The SMJHL is a league to develop players and by eliminating the worst team, I feel that it will push rookies on a bad team to give up instead of try harder for playoffs.

Interview Do you expect to have any trouble with changing your playstyle? What steps are you taking in training to achieve that change?

I should be over the hump with changing my playstyle now. Last season was my transition phase. I basically had scoring and passing even for the majority of last season, which is definitely not the best. Last season was a little rough, I had no identity. I’ve now got it developed to a 10 point gap with scoring at 90, so I should be improved for next season. One step that I took was changing my strength from passing to scoring, which is the reason why I am writing this presser.

Interview Cake or pie, and why is the answer pie?

This one definitely depends on the situation. If it’s a casual holiday, like a family get together or something along those lines, then definitely pie, but if it’s a party, like a birthday, then definitely cake. There’s a time and place for both, however, that’s a weak cop out answer. So if I had to choose one or the other, I would have to go with cake, I’m sorry. The cake as to be the proper consistency and taste though. Cake is a lot more risky that pie. Pie is always consistently good, cake can be hit or miss. But, when you find the right cake it is great. Best cake would have to be a chocolate one with a bit of stiffness to the cake part, but not too much.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2456' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Anders157</a> asks:
You down with waffles?

Could I really call myself a Knight if I wasn’t? I love a good waffle. Cooked to a nice golden brown, with a little bit of crisp, but not too much, covered in strawberries and maple syrup is possibly one of the best breakfasts you can have in life.

What’s the most fun part of playing hockey for you?

Hockey is a place where I can throw away my stress from the world and focus completely on the game. I love being in the zone for a game. That headspace where you hate that other team and want nothing more that to score on them and beat them, it’s a fantastic place. This season is my first playing beer league and I find you don’t quite get that hate as much as I did back in minor hockey, but that’s probably for the best. Maybe it’ll change when the playoffs start. Other than the escape from reality that it provides, I love the feeling of scoring a goal. I don’t there’s a feeling that can match that of scoring a goal, especially when it is an important one. Also I love the feeling of winning games. I’m very competitive when it comes to hockey, as you’ve probably already figured out, so I love being able to walk into the dressing room and relax after a big win. It’s very relieving.

Best current NHL goaltender?

Gonna have to go with Devan Dubnyk on this one. I haven’t watched any Wild games this season, but based on the stats at the moment, he seems like he’s the best in most things. First in save percentage and goals against average for goalies that have played at least 25 games, first in wins, with 9 less games started than Talbot, who has the most, and third in total saves made. It seems like he is absolutely unbelievable this season, and a cut above everyone else. Also, he has been consistently amazing for the past two years, so at this point he has proven that he is good. With this unbelievable year and the great showings the past two years, I feel confident is saying he is the best. I thought I was going to be answering Price for this question, but I just can’t honestly do that.

Favorite board game?

Me and a few of my friends have been really getting into Settlers of Catan this year, so I’m going to have to say that’s my favourite. That game is a blast and can get real intense near the end. The style of the game definitely depends a ton on how you arrange the board, which is awesome because it means there’s many different ways to play it. Although, trying to get as many of one resource then getting the 2:1 port for it always seems like the best strategy. Maybe that changes when you have some of the expansions for the game, but they’re too pricey. I just don’t understand why the expansion is the same price as the base game, it baffles me.

How well do you think the Riot can do this season?

I’d expect the Riot to be fairly similar to last year. We haven’t really had much change to the team, as we have the exact same roster as last season. A few people have regressed, but a few people have also improved. I figure we’ll probably be either 2nd or 3rd in the Western conference. Not sure if we can beat LA, unless Timo Haas proves to be a complete one hit wonder.

You're stranded on a desert island and can only bring five things from your closet — what do you grab?

Well good thing I keep my skiing, golfing, and hockey equipment in my closet; I feel like that could probably come in handy somehow. I would bring my skates for sure to use as a really crappy knife. I think that that would definitely come in handy. I’m assuming this island is a tropical one, so I probably would need snow pants or anything, so my second item would probably my skiing undergarments for warmth at night. This would be two objects, one shirt and one pair of pants. A weapon or bludgeoning object would probably be beneficial, so for my fourth item I would bring my 9-iron because is it the most sturdy of the irons. So, currently, I have a knife, warm clothes, and a weapon, which would probably be sufficient for getting myself set up on the island. I was thinking of bringing a screw driver, but then I realized there’d be no screws there. I decided to change my fifth item to my pair of dress shoes. Wearing dress shoes all day would be super uncomfortable, but have to walk through the jungle bare foot would be even more uncomfortable. So overall, I have a knife, warm clothing, a weapon, and shoes. I have some good items for surviving on a desert island, but yet I still don’t have too much confidence in myself to survive.

Do you regret missing out on the back-2-back (since you only got 1 cup before going up) in Kelowna?

I can’t say I regret it, but it would’ve been cool. I had a good time up on Seattle, so missing out on the Knight’s run wasn’t too taxing on me. Plus, if I was on the team, who knows if we even would have won. I may have changed the whole dynamic of the team. I had back-to-back Laurifer trophies and that’s really all that counts. The Four Star Cup is just a cup, the Laurifer is what actually determines the best team.

Describe your first SHL match against your fashion twin, Geronimo Otto.

My first game against Otto came very early in my career, my first game in fact. Me and Otto both had fairly underwhelming performances, it wasn’t too exciting. I remember I had 4 shots and 2 hits, while Otto was -1 with 3 shots and 3 hits. For most of the game me and Otto were never on the ice at the same time. However, two and a half minutes into the game we had our moment. As Orlov was called out of the faceoff dot it was my duty to win this faceoff against none other than Otto. Being terrible at faceoffs, he easily won it back to his defender. Then for good measure laid a hit on me just seconds later when I didn’t even have the puck. It was dirty play, but I would’ve done the same. We then never met up again that game. I still need my redemption for that poor performance, maybe my chance will come this next season.

How's the fresh batch of draftees for the Riot in your eyes?

I really like the new batch of draftes. Brumm did a great job at the draft this season. The Riot LR was getting a little bland as Mac and c were basically inactive all season. Galatix and Sorator have been real active and definitely livening up the LR, which is very needed to be a good team. Galatix even managed to make the Riot discord active, which baffles me because it was an absolute ghost town before.

If you could go back to your SHL Draft, who of the Knights would you recommend the Riot should "absolutely draft" at the next pick (look at the past draft for the exact position the Riot were drafting).

I am writing this response before you got the chance to answer my questions about it, so forgive me if I interpreted it wrong. I’m not sure what pick you’re referring to, but no matter which one it is I would pick Alex Light. He would’ve been the best pick anywhere from 8th to 39th. How you fell to 39th I will never understand, but if I could redraft the S32 draft I would pick you with that selection.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2280' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>daBenchwarmer</a> asks:
Who's your favourite Raider alumni and why is it Isaac Kaiser?

I didn’t realize you were on the Raiders, until I read this, I now like you a lot less, jk. My favourite Raider is without a doubt Isaac Kaiser. The only other Raider I could name is Volkova, and really that’s not even a competition for who I prefer. So, I’ll say Kaiser is my favourite and there’s no one else even close.

Is Alex Light actually as cocky as he seems on ice?

Alex Light is the most cocky person I have ever met. It’s really miracle that I haven’t asked for a trade just to get away from his absolutely ridiculous amount of confidence. He basically elected himself to be the captain for the Knights two seasons ago, even though there were many way better options. Such a locker room cancer, good luck West Kendall.

Nah, I’m just kidding, Alex Light is great guy. He’s not cocky at all, in fact he’s very humble. He’s basically the exact opposite of what I just described. One of my favourite people on the site for sure. He was definitely the best pick for captain, he’s great at keeping people positive and leading by example.

Looking back on the SMJHL, do you feel like there's anything you left "unfulfilled"?

I don’t think so, I was ready to move up last season. I wasn’t a huge fan of being stuck at 350 TPE, basically felt like I had no control over my player. Plus, my player was better when he only had around 200 TPE compared to 350. But that doesn’t really talk about if I have any unfilled things. I won the Laurifer twice and the Four Star Cup once, so I’ve won both team awards. There’s nothing else in that category to win. Individually, I finished top 10 in scoring in both my seasons, so nothing else to do there except finish first, but that takes some luck. Basically the only thing that I would have liked is if I could call myself the unofficial rookie of the year in the SMJHL. Unfortunately, Kornel Kasparek stole that title from me and he has now gone on to become a bit of a bust.

What's your favourite pump-up tune on game day?

I enjoy listening to some solid gangster rap before games, it gets me in the mood to injure the other team. Directly before the game I especially enjoy either Gangsta Rap made me do it by Ice Cube or Gangsta Gangsta by NWA because I am able to rap along with them. I find a song is much better at pumping me up if I am able to sing along with it. Also, Dope Dealey by Schoolboy Q gets me real hype during workouts and pre-game.

Can you sign my toe?

I would sign anything for you

Am I a beast?

Maybe, I haven’t really followed individual Knights stats in the past season. You seem like a beast in real life, based on that Timmies order of an ice cap in the middle of the winter.

Which Riot is your favourite?

Can I say myself? I’d probably say Patrick Brumm. Since being appointed to co-GM, he’s been doing a great job of building up the activity on the team, with a great draft and a push for people to start using discord. Brumm’s a great guy, and we seen to have a fair bit in common, which is pretty chill.

List 3 reasons why you’re the best Riot player.

I have the least amount of tpe on the team, so I must be the best.
I’m a part of the Kelowa - Seattle pipeline
I am underrated because I am a depth scorer

Don’t know much about you, favourite NHL team and player?

My favourite team is the Vancouver Canucks, unfortunately. Although, for the last few years it’s been a bit better than being a Leafs fan. I’ve cheered for the Canucks basically my whole life, except when I was a dirty Avs fan when I was 5. But that’s just because Joe Sakic was my idol.
I’d have to say my favourite player at the moment is Mitch Marner. He’s my favourite at the moment because I drafted him in my fantasy hockey league and he’s absolutely demolished my expectations. For purely hockey reasons, I’d have to say Horvat is my favourite though. Horvat is a glimmer of hope in the distance for us suffering Canucks fan. I also love his work ethic and how much work he puts in to help the Canucks and the city of Vancouver.

Favourite video game on xbone/PS4?

I don’t have my PS4 at the moment because I’m away for university and I left it at home. Don’t really know what my favourite game is for it, I’d play a lot of Rocket League and NHL 16, but I wouldn’t call those my favourite games. I’d probably have to say either Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3, or Uncharted 4 as my favourite game even though they don’t get the most play time. Those games are works of art, at least Witcher and especially Uncharted. I have my laptop with me, which I can play a bunch of games on. My current go to game is Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm, closing in on 100 hours into that game. The new Rising Storm is coming out soonish, so looking forward to that. My most played game of all time, though, is Crusader Kings 2. I’ve put 345 hours of my life into that game. Not sure if that’s sad or impressive.

Cookies or Waffles?

Definitely Waffles. Cookies are a fleeting moment of joy that doesn’t fill you up or anything. Waffles can be either a snack or a full meal; they are versatile. Waffles can also be topped with many more flavours, like fruit or chocolate, whatever you prefer in the moment. And there’s no breakfast food that can beat a well cooked Belgian Waffle. With waffles you can leave feeling content and full, wanting no more. Cookies are addictive, they never fill you up, so you could just keep eating them.

What is your favourite movie/book genre?

My favourite type of movie is a movie that makes you think, but also provides some action and isn’t boring the whole way through. I wouldn’t consider it my favourite movie, but the Prestige is very good at doing this. Recently, I watched Split in the theatres and I found that very entertaining. Would recommend, unless you’re young, it’s got some pretty mature and dark stuff in it.
Favourite type of book is definitely fantasy. I love medieval fantasy with a deep world full of well thought out ideas. My favourite book of all time is “The Name of the Wind.” It is a very good book. I’m currently waiting for the third and final book of that series, which may never come out because it’s been years since the second one.

Summer or Winter?

Summer. Winter has definitely lost its magic for me. As a kid, I used to love the snow, but now that I’m older the snow is quite and inconvenience. Currently, I can’t go back to my hometown for my spring break this week because it’s too dangerous to drive on the road home. With summer you never have to deal with these issues. Just get in the car and drive anywhere. During the summer, there’s more stuff to do outside, you can just go to the beach and hang out, which can’t be done in the winter.

Is Samee Iqbal one of the most overrated prospect in the SHL?

I didn’t think Samee was even rated to be good. If he turns out to be over-rated then he may go down in history as the biggest bust of all time. I’m expecting to Samee to have a season similar to what I had last year which is nothing too impressive.

On the night I was drafted by Kelowna, I was already starting to be called a triplet to complement the fashion twinz. Will we ever see this trio together again?

Well we have two of us, so it would be the most convenient for Otto to come to us. Although, Otto just signed a long contract, so I don’t know how that’ll work out. Maybe we can all make our contracts end at the same time one year and sell ourselves as a package deal. I’m sure someone would be willing to buy a full first line from free agency. Although, we’d probably have to go to a crappy team that is lacking a first line, so basically Seattle would be the only option cause they would have no first line after we abandoned them. Or I guess somewhere hopeless like Minnesota would work.

Season 36. Thoughts?

I think that’s the season we bring home our first, maybe second Challenge Cup. Although we could probably win before then that’s still four season away, who knows what the league will be looking like then. I’d imagine that we’ll have moved in to take over the core of the team by then because the older players may not last that long. So whether we can win in season 36 is all up to us really.

How amazing is Anze Kopitar?

Anze Kopitar is an absolutely amazing human being that I hope I can one day be half as good as. I strive to play hockey like him both in real life and in the SHL. I don’t think I’ll ever get there in real life, but maybe in the SHL. The only problem with Kopitar is that he’s on the Kings, if he was on a team that I liked it would be great. You’re lucky you can cheer for him properly, whereas I on the other hand cannot. Although, the Canucks aren’t good anymore, so I don’t really have any issues with the Kings anymore. Maybe I should get an Anze Kopitar jersey. I do like those grey alternates the Kings have.

Interview What do you think of the recent changes to the SMJHL playoffs? [b]When are you going to ask for a trade to Portland?

Probably never, I don’t see how I can move from Seattle to a budding rival just across the border. Seattle’s got a bright looking future, and I’d rather show my love for Otto by wiping the floor with his team.

Or when are you going to tell Otto to ask for a trade to Seattle?
I’m not going to tamper Otto. So also probably never, unless he’s a free agent then I’ll tamper away.

How is the Wilson-Otto fashion twinz bromance faring over the distance between Portland and Seattle?
And slowly, I will sip that wonderful German&nbsp; beer easing me into retirement, where we can be together again.
