- tweedlebrumm - 07-18-2017 As the playoffs come to an end, and we are hit with the reality of retirement without penalty. It is always interesting, and sometimes sad to see your favorite player hang em’ up. That time has come for Journeyman OFD/Forward Patrick Brumm, after a career of bouncing around and slightly above par play he is looking at S36 as his final season. He has spent time in Hamilton, Portland (2x), Texas, and Seattle throughout his career. Most of his success coming towards the end after his move from the blue line to forward. A good indication of your story is the people you’ve touched, and the memories you’ve left behind when the rides over. Let’s take a look at some highlight worthy memories of his career. S24 – Brumm records a 50PT season with Prince George Firebirds, in a season when played both on the blue line, and at times forward. After the Firebirds were eliminated from the playoffs, Brumm is called up to the Hamilton Steelhawks for the Eastern Conference Finals. Brumm was pretty much pedestrian in this series but got to share ice time with the likes of Bubba Nuck (NUCK) and Riko Muerto (Muerto). In S24 the Hamilton Steelhawks would go on to shock the Los Angeles Panthers in 7 games in the Challenge Cup Finals. S26 – Is when we hear from Brumm again as he puts up a lackluster Rookie Campaign in S25 only putting up 15 points in a down season in Hamilton. Brumm found some success after asking out of Hamilton due to the death of his best friend Brandon Girard (Copenhagen), and a lockerroom that had a whole lot going on offline. Despite putting up a -18, Brumm registered several career firsts in his 30 point Sophmore season. His first time putting up over 100 hits, 10 goals, and 15 assists. The former 6th overall pick was showing the promise Tanner had seen of him coming out of the SMJHL. Not only did his point value bubble in S26 his overall enjoyment did as well. Sharing a locker room with so much young talent, was truly amazing guys like Buster Killington (GCool), Nikitia Nevrezov (@ JumpierPegasus) Pal Vikingstod, Nick Scholz (karlssens), and the player that everyone knew had the most talent Sven Karlsson (dankoa). S27 – In his third season a young Brumm was able to improve and put up what would be a banner year for the third year defender. Putting up 10 more points and another 100+ hit season, his stats were pretty close to Stevens Award winner Alonzo Garbanzo. It really felt like Portland had something going on the ice, and in the locker room. GM Zach Miller was a great punching bag when you felt the need to let off steam. While Brumm had a great season on the blue line, Buster Killington was lighting up the net night in and night out. Which went on to win him an MVP Award, even after disaster struck Portland. All good things must come to an end right? Well one PM did that for Portland. The Texas Years (S28, S29, S30) – Brumm’s time in Texas might be what make his career be defined as “averageâ€, but he’s on record being fine with that. Texas was absolutely dripping with talent, they were stacked to the gil dominated the S28 season winning the President’s Trophy easily. Buried in a deep depth chart Brumm is on record saying S28 was one of his fondest as he got to play with a lot of the guys he idolized coming into the league. Guys like Valterri Bottas(vbottas17), Sterling Knight (easymoneysniper), Liam Kinsler(Kinsler). Through S28 and S29, Brumm would barely best his S27 total of 40 points, as he scored 41 points over those two seasons. Surely a disappointment to the Texas Renegades who paid a hefty price for the young blue liner just a few seasons ago. In S30 he was able to turn it around as he became the power play quarterback, with 11 Power Play Points. Still this wasn’t good enough for Texas, and Brumm was approached by GM Geoffrey Allen (Allen) saying he would be moved to Right Wing. As Brumm was slightly put off by the decision not being discussed with him, and a changing LR environment he decided it was time to head out. A meeting was called between Brumm and GM Allen as they had become, and to this date remain good friends. They discussed their feelings, probably had a few jokes at the others expense. When GM Allen extended his hand with those deep blue eyes glaring back at Brumm, and said “Let’s kill any animosity between usâ€, and like that it was dead. S31 – Brumm returns to the Pacific Northwest, after weeks of trade talks Seattle and Texas agree on a trade that sends Jesster to Texas and Brumm to Seattle. Stoked to be playing under a HoF GM in @(gifter of bikes) he soon learns that he will be stepping down and appointing GM McFadden (Abdeezy). Not knowing much about McFadden besides seeing him around the Prince George locker room a time or two. The real shocker came when one of Brumm’s better friends on the site was announced as CO-GM Cartier (@(701 yung guap god), which had him pumped after the unknownness of McFadden. Brumm again improved in S31 as he posted 36 points and +22 while playing on the second pairing with a young Jackson Cartier. Again drama struck as news broke that the team was not properly regressed causing players to have better stats than they should, as Seattle squeaked into the playoffs by 1 point. S32 – S35 - The GM Years although skeptical at first Brumm quickly bonded with McFadden and grabbed a leadership spot with some skeptics one being long time Riot Center Dean Colt (:mac, which we all saw that story unfold in front of us. During his “tenure†as GM Brumm finally made the move to Winger and saw his production greatly increase. It wasn’t just his talent doing this he was surrounded by talented wingers the entire time guys like Dave Benson (GoodLeftUndone), and Jed Lloren (r1c3bowl22) whom he had played with in Texas. There was also the youngsters who were pegged to be the future of the Riot in Trevor Wilson (twils), and Cory Knouse (ckroyal92). With a star filled offense and stout D lead by Jack Burton for most of the time and the aqusistion of Barney Stinson (Narconis). The Riot had formed a solid competitor in front of one of the best goalies in the league in Michael McFadden. They were perennially running toward the top of the division the first 30-35 games of the season, then they would just fall flat come playoffs. Both GM’s took this personally and after the S34 season McFadden stepped down leaving the team to Brumm. S35 Trade/Final ~16 games – One morning on a long break from action Brumm wakes up about 9:30am from a text from a Portland area code. “Hello this is Kyle Wahlgren (Wally), glad I could save you from the clutches of that baboon c (mpc.)†At first I thought fuck it’s one of those cold ass Abdeezy april fools jokes, until I hear my phone buzz again and it’s Randy Randleman “Going back to Portland, eh? Couldn’t even give your best friend a heads up?†A team I had spent so much time with, building, and trying to improve didn’t even give me a heads up that I was on the move? At first I thought they were going to have to usher me out of the building when I went to collect my belongings. I then started receiving positive text messages from players I drafted. Caelan Fearghal (Sorator), Zinaida Titova (galatix), Louie Garret (dizzyDC). I thought to myself, if they have a positive image, I’ll just take my stuff and leave. I’ll have plenty of time to take my anger out on the ice. In a fresh environment Brumm would go on to torch the league for the last two weeks of the season, scoring 22 pts in 16 games. While the rest of S35 hasn’t been written, S36 will be the last chapter. Please don’t grade I’m going to shout out some homies for more monies. - GoodLeftUndone - 07-18-2017 :( - Muerto - 07-18-2017 brumm brumm brumm vrooooom! love ya babe - tweedledunn - 07-18-2017 ... and tweedledunn and tweedlebrumm lived happily ever after - Wally - 07-18-2017 <3 love you bb Always an Admiral :admirals: - JumpierPegasus - 07-18-2017 That S27 Portland LR was fucking magical...
