- TheRealBK - 11-19-2017 <div align="center"></div> <div align="center">Dear Upcoming SHL Free Agents,</div> Making a decision to enter free agency. To some, this isn't your first rodeo, and you get to experience another season of decision making, and dwindling your teams down as the days go by. For others, this is your first time. Already, some nerves are starting to hit, maybe some doubt that you'll get what you're looking for. Who's gonna contact you? What will they be willing to give? Championship Caliber and a smaller role or Rebuilding team and Bench Leader? Questions you didn't even think that you'd ask yourself will soon come across your mind. This letter is to hopefully, and not regretfully, give you one more question in your head. Not a huge question, not a question that should lose you some hours of sleep. I want the free agents to ask themselves this coming offseason one thing; <div align="center">What about Manhattan?</div> I can already kinda feel some scoffing from some of you. For those people, I'll be straight up and say we don't want you on the Rage. It might sound aggressive and it may be something that makes some marquee free agents turn away. However, for the people who are thinking at the very least 'maybe', let me try to persuade you about Manhattan. It's true about Manhattan's past. At one point, the feeling about Manhattan was 'cesspool of scum', or 'only for the rotten-hearted'. The Manhattan reputation at one point was the lowest. Remember, it wasn't too long ago that I was thinking myself about Manhattan and saying 'Really?'. I made the decision for a sign-and-trade with Manhattan. I could have gone anywhere else, I could have said 'Screw You' to Manhattan, and sign with Edmonton or Seattle, or back in New England, but I made the decision to join Manhattan, and I feel like it was a great decision. Is the locker room quiet? Absolutely. We don't have as many people in our locker room as a New England, or a West Kendall, or at this point an Edmonton. Are we as young of a core as an Edmonton or San Francisco? No, we have a mix of a little bit of everything. Young guns, veterans, up-and-comers, last grasp guys. But, let me tell you one thing that separates us from any other team in the SHL - cohesiveness. Our locker room may be small, and quiet, and may have a previous reputation, but let's change the belief of what's inside Manhattan right now. These guys care for this league, these guys care for their season, these guys want to see the Rage flourish and succeed more than any team could imagine. We have a winning mentality in the offseason, we have a winning mentality when it seems like the chips aren't going our way. You look at the TPE counts, and you think it may not look like it, but the term 'looks are decieving' could not be a better motto about our locker room. The reputation of sketchiness and doubt should leave your minds about Manhattan. If you feel like you're just as ambitious, just as die-hard as us in the league, just as much of a dedicated member, then we would love to have you on our team. A lot of people have the Rage at such a low ranking, and for some, it's for good reason. You don't hear from us much, you don't see us much outside, and there aren't that many of us. But, when I was given the reign and mantle of Co-GM just last week, I had one goal in mind for this franchise. I remember when Manhattan was one of the marquee places to go, somewhere that people thought 'a place for a chance to win every season'. All of a sudden, that's gone. I want those moments to come back to Manhattan. But, I can go on and on about Manhattan and it can be silence to some ears, this is just one guy, a guy with a management mantle under his name. He's supposed to say this, or he wouldn't have this job in the first place. So, I will end this letter with one request from every free agent coming into this offseason; Give Manhattan a Chance. Give us a shot to give you a pitch, just as much as you would on your preferred team, no more and no less. We really hope to not disappoint anyone we talk to this offseason, but please. I think MAN can be great though - sash - 11-19-2017 lemme reword. i like manhattan as a team and think they're run by a couple of great people but you say alot of good things about the LR, but I feel like something in that R makes it unappealing - r1c3bowl22 - 11-19-2017 I'd liket to point out he chose to mention Seattle as a desirable alternative to Manhattan. Let that sink in. - DeletedAtUserRequest - 11-19-2017 Quote:Originally posted by TheRealBK@Nov 19 2017, 10:42 PM i hate to do this but... its 'deceiving' not decieving - TheRealBK - 11-19-2017 Quote:Originally posted by r1c3bowl22@Nov 19 2017, 08:55 PM To be completely fair, my personal opinion of Seattle is much different mainly because they were one of the few teams that I had a long conversation with when it came to my draft night, so I thought it would be fair to put them high on my list of destinations. You make it sound Seattle was the worst option ever. It's not all horrible in Seattle. Also, Deezy is a legit bro of mine, so Seattle gets bonus points for Deezy. - dizzyDC - 11-19-2017 Quote:Originally posted by Coach Biz@Nov 19 2017, 10:01 PMit's, not its - TheRealBK - 11-19-2017 Quote:Originally posted by Coach Biz@Nov 19 2017, 09:01 PM No, I deserve this.
