Dover snubbed, I love it

- ArGarBarGar - 12-14-2017

Zander Rhys? Interesting.

- Wally - 12-14-2017

How does Dover not make the cut?

- ThePandava - 12-14-2017

Wow didn't expect getting nominated. Thanks!

- Avakael - 12-14-2017

It'll be because of all the time he spent up forward. But if anyone, it should actually be Garbanzo who gets knocked off for him, as Rhys and Malkin both had extraordinary years while Garbanzo fell back quite a bit.

How does Dover not make the cut?

After discussion with Eggy during the initial voting process, it was determined to not consider Dover a defenseman this season due to the in-season move to forward on Hamilton's lines.

Dammit Avakael, slow down.

But all that time... still was a fraction of the season. We took it into account for the All-Star committee. The body of work was still there even if he hadn’t played forward... Past performance shouldn’t be a gauge of this award, that should be reserved for the Littleton (I believe). This award should be given on the body of work for the S37 season alone.

Fell back quite a bit?

Finished 2nd among eligible defenders in points while scoring with 10 goals, more hits than Malkin, better plus minus than both, playing 2 1/2 to 3 minutes per game LESS than both Malkin and Rhys (which if the PP/60 was the same would have put me right up there with Malkin in points).

Is that what we consider run of the mill, these days? I'm not going to say I absolutely deserve to win, but I am just as deserving to be a nominee as Malkin and Rhys.

Happy to see a bunch of Platoon nominations for once.

- ThePandava - 12-14-2017

Does this award consider playoff performance as well?

Maybe that's why it explains Rhys getting a nomination

only the playoff-specific awards are affected by playoffs

It was almost 1/3rd of the season I believe 14 games, and he scored I think 21 points during that time.

Yikes, there’s a penalty from playing F as a D and he’s still snubbed. You’re my s37 Stevens winner. ThatDamnMcJesus
