Maybe assists, shots against. - Grapehead - 12-16-2017 Quote:Originally posted by Wally@Dec 15 2017, 01:01 PMPIMs plz - sarmo - 12-16-2017 Not surprised McBride is still #1, dude was truly a legend. - FourFour - 12-17-2017 The SO and save % cumulative numbers are a little meh because some goalies played in different era's where they would have inflated those numbers. - sarmo - 12-18-2017 There are guys like Honcho, Jesster up there from the same era who were great for their time but still were not as good as McBride, or even Andersson/Broadway. Shit I cant even see McBride on the SO list lol - JayWhy - 12-18-2017 Quote:Originally posted by sarmo@Dec 18 2017, 03:21 AMMcBride wasn't really a shutout type of goalie. I believe he had like 18 or 20, it was an even number. He just had consistency and played in an era as well that was kinder to goalies (the seasons he played and had SV% around .910+ were seasons where there would be 4 or 5 goalies with the same but rare to go over .920). We had some runs that were unkind around it, McBride was a perfectly timed one in a way (came in at end of era where best goalie was Jesster with a .908 or so that season and left at point where most goalies started putting up .905ish) while still being of course a great goalie. It's just astonishing to me to see my name at the top of most of these lists. I believe I'm also top-5 in GAA if I remember this list correctly. Which to me, my numbers are insane. Wong got a lot closer than I had thought, but still a season or two from the games played, a couple solid seasons (20+ wins) from the wins most likely (maybe just one on a real good year) and probably a couple of good seasons from the shutouts. He had a hell of a career to make it that far up and it was very quiet in a way with that. That's probably the most incredible person on the list to me, Wong going so long and doing so well without it being really highlighted to my knowledge. - Wally - 12-18-2017 Quote:Originally posted by JayWhy@Dec 18 2017, 09:14 PM Absolutely... couldn't agree more JY. Jakub had an absolute historic run of a career and I think it overshadowed what Wong accomplished. Obviously not taking away from your career, but Wongy had an amazing run in his own right... I love seeing the runs and streaks of goalie performance throughout the careers. The era we are in now, truly has a bunch of goalies that are defining their careers and will be interesting to see how it entirely unfolds in another 5-6 seasons. - JayWhy - 12-19-2017 Quote:Originally posted by Wally@Dec 18 2017, 10:50 PMAbsolutely. It's something I take pride in and also feel a little bad about to overshadow someone in that way. He deserves a lot of credit, it's tough to stick out a goalie that long as we've seen with a few recently. I can say Jason will not be breaking Jakub's records, but ya know, 200 wins isn't the hardest thing to get to anymore, it used to be a massive accomplishment and now it's 300 that's the tough accomplished group and will probably get shattered by a tough group of goalies at some point. Going to be a lot of goalies who had the opportunity to get to that level, but the question is more about their personal want for it. A lot of people struggle with being goalie, especially for long periods. It'll be tough. I'm curious to see who breaks into these groups here. - Mark H - 01-07-2018 Seeing how far I made it makes me wish I could have dedicated more time to this site playing for an underachieving team. Really an honor to see my name next to the greats - Symmetrik - 01-22-2018 Is this updated after S38? - Wally - 01-22-2018 Quote:Originally posted by Symmetrik@Jan 22 2018, 04:24 PM Negative that and historical updates are being worked on over the next couple of days - Symmetrik - 01-22-2018 Quote:Originally posted by Wally@Jan 22 2018, 06:16 PM cool, was just wondering how close Harter can get 44 games in S38 & 39 gives him 701 - Wally - 01-22-2018 Quote:Originally posted by Symmetrik@Jan 22 2018, 05:53 PM Damn... looks like I better start earning that reserve TPE haha |
