Due to the Overwhelming odds against and the amazing players in his home country, Richard Physt has elected to permanently play for his Grandfather's nation. The Czech Republic. The opportunity to grow and international team in a hockey crazy nation and put it firmly on the map here in the SHL is a golden one.
His grandfather Jaromir Physt, nicknamed Ozdobný (Fancy in English) was a factory worker in the famous Škoda Works Military factory, making a living as a 16 year old during WW2. By 22 he joined the Simulation Czech Hockey League SCzHL and became a star with the Prague Pirates. a sensational Center who mastered the craft of stick handling and almost ballet like footwork made him a dream to watch.
Now Richard has a chance to follow in his footsteps and make his mark in the Czech Republic.
