As part of our ongoing efforts to revitalize the Edmonton Blizzard franchise, <a href='index.php?showuser=1766' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>karlssens</a> and I have come up with a concept to reinvent the Edmonton Blizzard as we know them now, and for the future. This was not a decision that was made lightly - the Edmonton Blizzard franchise has a long and storied history under the yeti branding, and it will remain part of our history as we move forward. Coming up with an original logo and brand was important to us - we want to have our own image, something that is uniquely identifiable as ours throughout the hockey world.

With that said, the Edmonton Blizzard are happy to announce our new brand and uniforms for S40 and moving forward.

From karey who explained the goal very well: “The fox exemplifies strength not through it's size, but it's resilience, much like the city of Edmonton. Edmonton is not the most populous city in it's province as Calgary dominates both population, size, but also economic wealth. However, Edmontonians find success through their hard work.

The new image of the Blizzard doesn't just represent a winter storm, but represents the embracing of the blizzard, fearless, head faced forward. Hidden in the logo, primarily seen in the Secondary Logo, is the letters "E" and "B" so that even when the wordmark isn't sprawled upon the logo, the image still represents the Edmonton Blizzard exclusively. "
