Who's the Richest SHL Team? - iamslm22 - 07-25-2018

I was looking at the bank after realizing I was in the negative and I thought of a fun little project. I wanted to see who was the richest team in the SHL. Now obviously there could be a lot of different ways to define richest. I took the simple route. I went through the bank thread and added up all of the players totals in their bank (including subtracting the negatives), and came out with a total. Took me a little bit to collect the data and such, so I hope you guys like it. Before going in to this there are a few caveats. Obviously there are some flaws here. First one is that some teams have a ton of users listed. I didn’t want to crawl through the roster threads; that would have taken me an exorbitant amount of time. The other issue is that this doesn’t really tell us all too much. There are certain players (looking at you @Rabidsponge21) that vastly skew their team by having 9 figure bank accounts. So some teams will be higher because of certain players. In fact there is a certain user that would place above the last place team on our list (but we’ll get there). Any way even though this took too much time (hope to get a bonus dear grader), and it really doesn’t tell us all too much about team quality we’ll show the list.

Quick note before the list – the SMJHL bank sheet has a ton of retired players on there and all the SMJHL players so it has an astounding 3.4 BILLION on it, which is way more than any SHL team (no one is in the billions). Anyways, without further ado lets go to number 14. I was surprised by some places on the list, but being such a young team I expected 14 to be these guys

NUMBER 14 – SEATTLE RIOT - $197,347,500

The Seattle Riot come in last place by a significant margin. They have only two players over 20 mil, and no players over 30 (only team to have that). Were it not for @NUCK and @dizzyDC this team would be at an even lower number. Those two each have over 20 mil but they are under the 30 mil number. They both have great banks obviously, but not the monstrous numbers we’ll come to see later. Interesting to note that they are 120 Million behind the 13th placed team. There is a bigger gap between 13th and 14th on the list than there is between 7th and 13th. That’s a yikes from me.  As mentioned earlier there is one user who would place higher than the Seattle Riot on his own. We’ll get to him when his team comes up (which will obviously be much higher on this list)

NUMBER 13 – LOS ANGELES PANTEHRS – 314,717,474

Coming in at 13th are the Los Angeles Panthers. This team has a good amount of players will solid bank accounts as VBOTTAS leads the way with almost 50 million, and they have several other players over 30 million. The reason they are low is because 49 Million is the third lowest team leader in the SHL. While it is a good bank account to be sure, it’s not an embarrassingly high number that some other users can sport. @MP7, @NYRangers and @Count Chocula all helped buoy this team to a solid number, combining for about 100 million between the three of them

NUMBER 12 – EDMONTON BLIZZARD – 318,002,964

At the 12th spot we have everyone’s favorite team to hate the Edmonton Blizzard. These guys are in a very similar position to the Panthers, edging them out by less than three and a half million bucks. @Lunaro leads the way, but he’s the second poorest team leader at a still impressive 48 million. They have three other guys in the 30s and several guys in the 20s. They are only this low because they do not have a monster that other teams do. Perhaps they could be helped if they had someone on their team who was expert at earning money for multiple players

NUMBER 11 – HAMILTON STEELHAWKS – 333,340,501

Coming in at number 11 are the Hamilton Steelhawks. They are in a similar position to the Los Angeles Panthers and the Edmonton Blizzard except they have two top dogs that helped them to 11. They have one player at 51 Million @bk1689 and one player at 46 Mil, @DrunkenTeddy. They have several players in the 30 million, and they just barely missed the top 10, missing it by less than 2 million dollars. In fact, they have two players in the red. If those players were not on the team (or were at 0 in their bank), the Hamilton Steelhawks would be a top 10 richest SHL team.

NUMBER 10 – MINNESOTA CHIEFS – 335,336,727

The first team in our top 10, we have the Minnesota Chiefs. They owe their spot in the top 10 to one person, and one person alone - @ArGarBarGar. They would be slightly above the Seattle Riot were it not for Argar’s insane 9 figure bank account. Given the media he produces it should be of no surprise he’s got so much money. What is surprising is that no one on the team comes remotely close. They have one person in the 20 plus million category, with RICH having 23 million, but that is it. A plethora of players in the 10 to 20 million range is what would make them about 30 million richer than Seattle were they to lose Argar.

NUMBER 9 – WINNIPEG JETS – 376-,169,667

With a good amount of money above the 10th place Minnesota Chiefs, we have the 9th place Winnipeg Jets. The Jets have 3 players that are really bringing it, with bank accounts in the 60 million range (@MPc), the 50 Million range (@ZTEVANS) and the 40 million range (@TOEDRAGON84). They also carry a solid level of depth of guys in the 30 million range. 8th and 9th were separated by only 3 and a half million so the Jets easily could have been top 8.

NUMBER 8 – NEW ENGLAND WOLFPACK – 379,810,066

The 8th ranked team on our richest SHL teams list is the New England Wolf Pack. The New Englanders are one of the most balanced team, as they don’t have any one with a totally monstrous account, and are still able to be this high on the list. They are led by our dear simmer @Evok and her 49 million, but have several players who have strong bank accounts, with numerous players sporting 30 plus million in their account. One more of those players and they would have been seventh.

NUMBER 7 – TEXAS RENEGADES – 397,419,143

The 7th placed team in our biggest bank account would rank number 1 in terms of most wholesome, the Texas Renegades. The Renegades are buoyed by a giant bank account of new addition old friend recreate NJBADAPPLE. In addition to NJ the Renes have numerous players in the 30 million range, including @dankoa, @JUMPIERPANCAKES and @Durden. The Renes are in a solid position at 7, with 20 million to spare below them and 30 million before the 6th place team.

NUMBER 6 – SAN FRANCISCO PRIDE – 427,767,727

Coming in at number 6 we have the San Francisco Pride. This team is where it is on the ranking because it has two rich guys at over 60 million and a ton of depth.  The rich ones are @Grapehead and @Snuffalupagus each bring the team a lot of money. Additionally they have 7 other players that have more than 20 million in their bank account. When you have two super strong bank accounts, along side a lot of depth level solid bank accounts you get a team that just misses the top 5.

NUMBER 5 – CALGARY DRAGONS – 480,449,636

The first team to enter our top five are the perennially awesome Calgary Dragons. The Dragons are boosted by a lot of depth but three big bank accounts. Two in the 40 million (@Mike Izzy along with @Ohtaay ) and one at nearly 80 Million @701 aka YUNG GUAP GOD. Those three combined rival the Seattle Riot’s bank accounts. When you combine those three with the depth the Dragons have it is easy to see why they are a top 5 team.

NUMBER 4 – WEST KENDALL PLATOON – 485,653,500

The number 4th most rich team in the SHL is the West Kendall Platoon. These guys are in the top five because of one man @Rabidsponge21. This dude boosts a stellar 9 figure bank account (over one hundred twenty one million in there). @Zoone16 isn’t slacking himself, sporting over 40 million and then there are depth guys too. But if it weren’t for Rabid, WKP would be only a borderline top 10 team. Still, their ranking here is pretty impressive.

NUMBER 3 – TORONTO NORTH STARS – 510,277,417

Getting the Bronze Medal in the SHL Rich team Olympics we have the Toronto North Stars. This team is insanely high because of one man. @Eggy216 has the largest bank account in the SHL, coming at an astounding two hundred and five million bucks. That’s insane. You take him away from the team and they drop all the way from third in the league to SECOND TO LAST. He is not only the richest, but most important to the team in this fictional stupid SHL Money rankings. They have another user over 40 million bucks (@PEANUTBUTTER) but that’s about it. It’s pretty astounding to think one user is enough to raise someone from second to last up to third place. I guess if anyone could do that, it would be our commissioner.

NUBMER 2 – BUFFALO STAMPEDE – 604,398,052

The second place team (and possibly should be the first place – more on that in a minute), is the Buffalo Stampede. This team is so far ahead of the rest of the pack (aside from first place) that at first glance it makes you wonder why. Well 2 players with bank accounts over 100 million will make you do that. @Velevra just barely loses to the Seattle Riot as he’s got over one hundred eighty four million in his bank account. They also have my boy and former teammate @WINTERISCOMING sporting an incredible one hundred seven million dollar account. You add that to @Avakael and his 60 million and @karey and his 45 million and there’s no wonder this team has so much money.

NUMBER 1 – MANHATTAN RAGE – 618,783,698

The number 1 team in the SHL in terms of money makes sense. If you think about who would be the richest SHL team it would obviously be the team based in Manhattan. Now I’ve been on record a couple times saying I hate their branding (no New York team would ever go by Manhattan), but you have to hand it to them here. Now they have this spot with a giant grain of salt. Their bank has about 8-9 more people than any other SHL team. I don’t know why that is. They could have retired people, or they could have a lot of prospects, but yea that’s certainly one reason they are above Buffalo. But aside from that, they have two star bank accounts. @Jala has a 9 figure bank account and @akamai has a bank account sporting 90 million. Add that to @jason97, who’s 50 million would be first place on several lower teams and you can easily see how they are in first place, especially when you add in the number of 20 and 30 million level players they have.

So there you have it! I hope this was at least a little enjoyable and not a complete and total waste of my time. Took a lot of time to do the write ups, and to do the math and make sure every one was here and such. This is probably meaningless, especially given the lack of success this season of the richest teams, but I figured it would be a fun thing to do. Please let me know your thoughts.

Fun idea for an article.

going inactive is the best way to pad your bank account. Just gotta make sure you get a fat contract before you ghost.

RE: Who's the Richest SHL Team? - Dangles13 - 07-25-2018

This would be better if the bank was updated properly.

Yep. Even at his "minimum" for Seattle he was at the top salary bracket and can't negotiate a lower contract in regression. He's bringing in big money every season and not spending a dime.

The bank is updated. Everything but 2 teams are less than a week since the last update, with most only a couple days since an update.

Aint that the truth, getting updated once a month and still considered "doing your job right" is cool. I wish i could get paid for phoning it in and only doing my job when people asked me too about 10 times. I have 0 faith that the nuymbers in Seattles accounts are correct.

That said great idea and article @iamslm22

Nothing at you, but the last time Seattle was updated before i called out our banker was a month prior to that.

Why tho? They should hit the teams cap just like every other player would for having similar TPE numbers.
