Young and Old - Discover the Minnesota Chiefs! - MrPrime - 01-28-2019

It's been a while since I posted any piece of Media hasn't it.
Well, life has been a bit rocky at the end of 2018. Losing my job ended up though becoming a blessing in disguise as two days later I was at a job interview with an entirely different field of profession ( Going from Video Game Tester to Internet Provider Customer Support ) that I realized I needed. Unfortunately prior to this my motivation for several things lowered including my presence here in the SHL. For my friends and teammates of the Minnesota Chiefs I would like to apologize for it all as your lead Goalie should have much more TPE's at this point. But life is what it is, so I know all of you understands.

That being said I have been wondering what to do for my come back piece and as I was talking with the team's General Manager and an idea came to mind! How about a piece where we talk about the players? Especially with the several changes that the Chiefs has gone through with among others the retirement of Captain Garbanzo the team is managing so far to have an unexpected and spectacular season much to the delight of the players and the team's many fans. I mean did any of you expected Minnesota to be second in it's Conference this season?

So with that in mind just before the start of the playoffs I offer you an in-depth look into the Minnesota Chiefs! It's players, it's staff and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Question 1 - Tell us about you? Where is he from? What does he enjoys during his free times away from hockey?

I would describe myself as the odd one in the family being in the environment I grew up. My brother and my friends played basketball and football and me being from Texas especially Houston, my love for hockey was a bit strange to my family and the people who I associated with. I watched hockey while they watched basketball. I'd want to go skating when they'd be outside playing. Don't get me wrong I loved basketball and hooping outside with everyone but hockey was just amazing to me and watching guys like Iginla and videos of Brian Leetch is what motivated me and eventually be where I am today. Its all I cared for other than god before being drafted.
What I love away from hockey is just traveling with my family. You could call me a family man, I believe that's what I'm here for. I want to provide for my wife and kids and give them motivation and show them exotic places. Help them see this world isn't all too bad and there's value in everything including every single one of our lives. I love doing different things and keeping my mind open as well as the people around me. It's not all about ice hockey for me, I think there's a bigger purpose in life and I want to walk towards it and bring the people I cherish with me.

I spent alot of time on Surfside, Texas at the beach on my free time but I was born and raised an hour and a half away in Houston.. that's where I went to school and played hockey and basketball growing up.

Question 2 - What or who motivated you to become a hockey player?

I grew up watching Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg with pops, Aves was his team. He gave life to my hockey dreams whenever there was a game on and he was watching, he made sure I was there with him. He taught me alot about the game, I wouldn't be here without him. What motivated me to play were YouTube videos of my favorite players like Brian Leetch and Jeff Dar. I'd watch their technique and moves and it really helped me take my game to the next level.

Question 3 - What do you enjoy most about the game of hockey?

The intensity level. I've been playing hockey my whole life so I'm always competitive. This is my life, just being out there with my team and getting the opportunity, I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to be the best player I can be.

Question 4 - What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?

Winning the cup in season 39 against the Panthers. I led the playoffs in goals and then went on winning gold with team USA. I soaked in alot that offseason and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
Question 5 - Other that the Challenge Cup, what is your ultimate goal?

Building my legacy. This is my career on the line. I've been playing this game all my life and been working and practicing hard at it everyday. I'm passionate about this game and the goals to get better and have a successful career.

Question 6 - Who do you enjoy facing more so far, and who do you enjoy facing less? Teams or players up to you.

Jets are a difficult team to face they always come in and play their hardest I love the challenge and their players so they're definitely one of my favorite teams to play against. My least favorite would be Edmonton. They're a top team this season and even though we've had our success against them this season, a 7 game series against them would not be the most fun situation.

Full Name: Éric Pelletier
Birthplace: Asbestos, Quebec, Canada
Position: Center
Shoots: Left
Season Drafted: S36
Season Played:S35-S37 with Halifax Raiders, S38 to now with the Chiefs
Quick Stats ( Goals, Assist, Total Points, +/- and PIM's )
Not countring this season
Games played :350 G:45 A:112 P:157 +/-: -22 PIM : 176 Fights : 16 FO% : 53.26%

Question 1 - Tell us about you, who is Eric Pelletier? Where is he from? What does he enjoys during his free times away from hockey?

Eric Pelletier is a really shy guy but when you know him more, you can found that he's funny, caring and also a little devil, always planing one trick to do to one of his teammate. He comes from a familly of 3 kids in the countryside of the Quebec province, from the town of Asbestos. He learned to play hockey with his brother and cousins from a young age on a homemade icering near the famillial barn. When he's not training or planing another trick, you can find him relaxing in a spa or playing curling at a local arena in Minneapolis or with his old friends back to Asbestos when it's offseason.

Question 2 - What or who motivated you to become a hockey player?

Not a lot of things to do in Asbestos so I started playing hockey for fun, and somehow I ended in the SHL. I must have been good

Question 4 - What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?

For sure the cup of Season 39 is up there, but one of the best moment of my career so far is probably in game 7 of the first round series of Season 44 against the Leafs where I scored the winning goal in OT

Question 5 - Other that the Challenge Cup, what is your ultimate goal?

Ryan Jester Trophy for sure!(joke) My long time goal would be, like a lot of people, to be introduced in the HoF someday, but a more realistic and short term goal is the Jeff Dar trophy awarded to the best two-way player.

Question 6 - Who do you enjoy facing more so far, and who do you enjoy facing less? Teams or players up to you.

There is no team that I don't like playing against. NEW and HAM are probably the games with the most intensity we have these last seasons

Question 7 - If you were to decide where the next SHL team would be, which City would you choose and Why?

First, welcome to thw new teams in Chicago, New Orleans and Tampa Bay. Thoses 3 places are great and I'm sure they were waiting for a team to play in their city for a while. But, I think some of the biggest places are still waiting for a big team to play for them. Places like Montreal, Detroit, Vancouver. They have a junior team but I believe they are ready for a bigger team.

Question 8 - On the IIHF side of things, are you aiming to remain with your National team or did you ever considered going to another Country?

I already have made a move and with the IIFH rules, I can't make a second one. I'm canadian of birth butI got contacted earlier in my career by one of my old friend, Oisin Fletcher, to play with them in Ireland. Since then I played and won with them. Even if I still had the choice I wouldn't change team. Ireland is my 2nd country now.

1. Poopity Scoop is not from a tangible place like most of the SHL. Poopity Scoop is from Kanye West's heart, a true amalgamation of eccentric genius, love, and craziness that makes him one of the most interesting and intriguing players in the SHL both on and off the ice. He is constantly doubted yet constantly proves his doubters wrong. Even in the face of the greatest adversity, he pushed through and shines, reaching levels nobody thought imaginable. Outside of hockey, he loves to eat takis and is a motivational speaker. He motivates the young children of the world to lift theirselves and to not listen to the critics who will mince their words and attack them for being theirselves. A true child of Kanye. He also loves to listen to music - he only listens to Kanye. And he likes to climb rock walls.

2. I was motivated by Kanye West. Kanye told me I can be anything I want and to stack my money till it gets sky high. His inspiration and his heart guided me to this path of enlightenment.

3. The thing I most enjoy about hockey is hitting people. There's nothing like bopping people with your body and making them cry on the ice like little babies.

4. My greatest accomplishment has been proving to those who pay attention that my playing style is not a joke or a gimmick. I led the Falcons in +/- my second year in the SMJHL with a +30 rating, which actually is now an all-time Falcons record and led the SMJHL, being the 12th best mark ever. Then for Finland I had the best +/- on our bronze medal winning squad. And now as a rookie for the Chiefs, I lead the team in +/- and proving that I'm going to be a superstar.

5. I want to set the all-time record in hits and win a Stevens or five.

6. I enjoy facing everyone. I love being out on the ice where so many are underestimating me. Every game I have a challenge and it's great to come out on top.

7. I think the Sin City Cyclones would be a great choice. For reasons, ya know?

8. Well since I am from Kanye's heart and I am unique enough to be the only one from his heart in the SHL, I already got to choose my IIHF team. It was a difficult decision but one that I am happy with and I am happy to be ukkelinis forever with my Finns.

Full Name: Derek Bohne
Birthplace: Boston
Position: center
Shoots: left
Season Drafted: s44
Season Played: coming up s46
Quick Stats ( Goals, Assist, Total Points, +/- and PIM's ) all 0 for now in the shl, will check in the smjhl after I get back from the liquor store

Question 1 - Tell us about you? Where is he from? What does he enjoys during his free times away from hockey?

Bohne is from Boston, by way of Germany. He recently became a father, so away from hockey he loves to spend time with his son.

Question 2 - What or who motivated you to become a hockey player?

Watching the careers of guys like Colton Hagan, wuma Duce, and John Scott. They showed that you can make a career in hockey even if you aren't the next Crosby or Ovechkin.

Question 3 - What do you enjoy most about the game of hockey?

Hockey is like a fast paced chess game, with hitting.

Question 4 - What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?

Being drafted 8th overall is very high on my list, but being named the Co-gm of Minnesota is tops.

Question 5 - Other that the Challenge Cup, what is your ultimate goal?

The ultimate goal is to build a successful team that is a competitor season after season, but also is a strong Locker room that everyone enjoys being in

Question 6 - Who do you enjoy facing more so far, and who do you enjoy facing less? Teams or players up to you.

I'll get back to you later on today about that one

Question 7 - On the IIHF side of things, are you aiming to remain with your National team or did you ever considered going to another Country?

I'd probably go with Atlanta. After losing 2 nhl franchises, it's clear is a hockey town that's missing its beloved sport of hockey. I would probably brand them the Vultures, as the city seems to be branded under bird names. What better name to give to a dying franchise than a bird who circled and waits for it to die?

Question 8 - On the IIHF side of things, are you aiming to remain with your National team or did you ever considered going to another Country?

I'll remain with team Germany for the duration of my career

Full Name: Sebastien Primeau
Birthplace: Montreal, Quebec
Position: Goalie

Shoots: Doesn't
Season Drafted: Season 38
Seasons Played: Season 45 is Sebastien's fourth complete SHL season
Quick Stats: 176 GP 88 Wins 78 Losses 1 Challenge Cup ( Season 38 )

Question 1 - Tell us about you? Where is he from? What does he enjoys during his free times away from hockey?

I hail from the meca of Hockey Montreal, Quebec, Canada! I enjoy video games, movies, music and good food. I also enjoy traveling with my favorite spot being Sweden where I have met a lovely woman named Andrea.

Question 2 - What or who motivated you to become a hockey player?

Patrick Roy has been my inspiration to play the game of hockey and other goalies like Ed Belfour, Dominik Hasek, Felix Potvin, Carey Price, Marc-Andre Fleury among others but 'Casseau' has been my first inspiration. He has been my mentor from a distance my style of play is based on his.

Question 3 - What do you enjoy most about the game of hockey?

The thrill of the game, the intensity, the fun of blocking a well build play from becoming a goal and the satisfaction of doing my job so my colleagues can do theirs.

Question 4 - What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?

Without a doubt winning the Corcoran Award back in Season 40 with the Detroit Falcons. Winning the Challenge Cup as backup in Minnesota was something too but I want to win it as lead net minder now.

Question 5 - Other that the Challenge Cup, what is your ultimate goal?

Simple: Become the best goalie in Minnesota Chiefs' history and make my mark in the SHL.

Question 6 - Who do you enjoy facing more so far, and who do you enjoy facing less? Teams or players up to you.

I dispise facing the West Kendal Platoon since we lost twice to them in critical times in the playoffs. I love facing the Manhattan Rage though because it allows me to face my long time rival Cedric Moreau.

Question 7 - If you were to decide where the next SHL team would be, which City would you choose and Why?

Quebec City! No other city is ready to welcome a team than them. Small market? Sure whatever, they have a strong fan base and a state of the art arena that only needs a professional sports team to fill it's seats. The SHL would miss out on a great market if they overlooked Quebec like the NHL does.

Question 8 - On the IIHF side of things, are you aiming to remain with your National team or did you ever considered going to another Country?

I did not feel that I would have been able to have much ice time with my native country of Canada thus why I decided to take up the Sweden challenge. So far it has not been easy but it allowed me to discover a great country with fantastic people and an amazing culture.
