One less lonely defender - jRuutu - 02-09-2019

What a year this has been, Edmonton played so well as a team from the start of the regular season all the way to the end, then the show just kept going on in the playoffs, made the finals after few tough series. Finals itself were tight as well, went all the way to game seven and luckily for everybody who supports Edmonton, the Blizzard won and is currently celebrating a cup victory!

For me this cup victory is first in SHL history, been here for some time now and played with some great players, but never really managed to take that one more step, so a special moment to win one now, no other way to say it. I want to thank everybody in Edmonton, excellent management, a dominant team with great players!

Just like in any great story, there is something extra going on under the surface, in hockey world it could mean players carrying small injuries while they soldier on and do whatever it takes to win, unfortunately, I´m in that category. In my case, it´s more of a mental thing. I´ll explain, around the end of regular season, someone managed to find a picture of me, I guess from the time I first joined the Blizzard, apparently, there is a singer who looks just like me, his name is Justin Bieber.

Look at that! If I did not tell you which is which first, you would have no idea what is going on. With this discovery, I finally figured out why so many people have been calling me ´Justin´ when I have been walking around in public. I guess not so many like Bieber, because the comments I have been hearing are sometimes really nasty and they still are, you would think the word gets out in three or so weeks quite quickly, but I guess not. Still I hear lines like: You suck in hockey, please never play again and did your dog cut your hair? - quite silly, I don´t think Bieber even plays hockey? And I cut my own hair, but I guess the heckling comes with the territory of looking like a famous person.

During the playoffs I tried to disguise myself by growing a mustache:

I think I will keep this look, for now, have not heard any comments during the last few days and let´s be honest, mustache looks good on everybody.

Anyone who mistakes that face for Justin Bieber doesn't deserve to ride that moustache.

Mostly heard comments while I have been staying in Edmonton, people in Edmonton don´t like Bieber and at the same time don´t know what I look like?
