Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - Wawazat - 02-19-2019

It was established the day you mass signed the S45 class at 3M in the SMJHL
By doing so you've established the base salary...
So, it's incomprehensible that if an 'active' member is GOOD enough to drafted into The SHL -a superior league.
WHY the F would HE/SHE accept any thing less than the same contract money's they made in the "J". This BS about budget management shouldn't come at the expense of developing "active" members.
Either increase your budgets or limit the top level contracts. As it stands now you're gonna turn off more and more potential members with this ridiculous double standard.

FURTHER
wether or not the SMJHL Budget is a handout or a joke ..taken from the perspective of a first generation player it's what's being taught ..and that's the standard that's being set
Hindsight says you set salaries commensurate to the standards you have (500K)and either lower the training costs in the "J" or abolish the need for pay training in the "J" and base it on activity checks with all media money to be banked till after the players SHL draft .

By IFA you mean "Inactive" right?
What if there was a "relief claim" that a team could apply to these IFA's and it would immediately drop them to the 500 k base.

increase cap

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - WannabeFinn - 02-19-2019

the SMJHL contracts are more of a hand out for beginners

if you want to cut it in the big leagues, you're gonna need to find a way to make money outside of your contracted salary... even if you were getting paid what's considered big bucks

that's the reality of a salary cap world

Of course no doubt you right

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - Grapehead - 02-19-2019

SMJHL budget is a joke, and should not even be compared to the SHL tbh

I think an SHL cap increase would be good, but it has been shot down numerous times.

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - ml002 - 02-19-2019

Abolish the send down budget

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - Keygan - 02-19-2019

I do think it's silly to get paid less when you go up, but it's the reality of needing to pay 22 different players :S

See Further OP.

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - .bojo - 02-19-2019

I'd be ok with 1m min contracts

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - White Cornerback - 02-19-2019

ye min salary sucks balls that shit aint cool

already a big enough chore to purge out media

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - spooked - 02-19-2019

Raise cap send down relief, keep SHL budget at 70. Problem mitigated a bit without making it stupid simple either. Could also just lower the money in/money out of SMJHL.

the downsides of your team spending 9M on 2 regressing IFAs who'd cost $4M at minimum.

RE: Minimum Base Salary for Active Draftees - Daco - 02-19-2019

It's kinda silly mainly because it increases the already enormous disparity between an average user and media fiends. Like sure it's good for people who max every opportunity but it totally alienates the average users who can't afford 1mil trainings each time and just makes them quit as they're stuck on bottom lines and quitting quickly becomes the only option since you can't compete with the tpe difference.
