Jimbo Slice, centre for the Nevada Battleborn and SHL draft eligible prospect has died in Las Vegas following an apparent invisibility potion overdose. Slice, who joined the league as a first generation create at the end of July signed in Nevada as an undrafted prospect leaves behind two grieving parents. The team was hopeful and saw much potential in the young forward, potential that will now never be realized. Teammate and childhood friend Chad Danger was on scene when Jimbo accepted an "invisibility potion" from a street vendor on the Vegas strip. After noticing Jimbo was no longer present in the centre of the ice during his shifts, Chad began to worry the invisibility potion had finally kicked in.

"Well y'know the fella who sold him the potion said it might take a couple hours to kick in. Jimbo was acting a little funny for the rest of the night but he was fully visible. Went to look for him a couple days later and found his hotel room empty, like he had never been there. Pretty clear to me what's going on here." - Chad Danger, teammate.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department think something more sinister has taken place however.

"As far as we are concerned, mister Slice injected some sort of poison into himself, perhaps heroin or worse, and has perished in the streets. It's a sad occurence and a much needed reminder to today's youth to stay away from drugs." - Joe Lombardo, Sheriff, LVMPD

When asked about Danger's account of the events, LVMPD county sheriff Joe Lombardo had this to say, "Mr. Danger's account is frankly ridiculous and a blatant attempt to cover up his own involvement in a disgusting drug deal that led to the untimely death of his friend. The only ones who truly know what took place that night on the streets are the deceased, the drug dealer and Chad Danger and his refusal to co-operate by offering our detectives nothing more than absurd fairy tales meant to send them on wasteful adventures to nowhere is a disgrace." Some harsh words from the sheriff who expressed regret that the department could not produce sufficient evidence to charge Danger for his involvement. When reached out for a response to the sheriff's comments we were sent this reply via email.

"If Donut wants to talk so tough I think he should meet me outside the rink. Me and Jimbo ain't no junkies. We were simply intrigued by the possibilities offered by this street wizard and his magical potion. This was not some filthy drug deal, it was more like some Harry Potter shit. Besides, I have very good reason to believe Jimbo is in fact, alive. The LMPVD has seized my online public diary and soon the truth will be known and I will be free from these slanderous lies and accusations that are frankly unbecoming of a county sheriff." - Chad Danger, NBB forward.

The LVMPD continues to search for the street vendor/wizard and are accepting any and all information that may assist in his capture through anonymous tips taking online via their website or over the phone.
