Registered Posting Freak Welcome all to the Season 55 World Junior Championship USA roster announcement! Last season, we saw Team USA win the gold medal for the first time since Season 42 and we have 14 players returning to defend the title. Jumbobone and I have selected what we feel is a terrific group of people who will execute our plans perfectly. Forwards Zdenko Beranek @ztevans – Our first rookie on the list and it’s one of the first players to transfer in to the USA in a long time. Beranek came over with Xavier Doom to tear up the rest of the IIHF and makes it to the roster after scoring 6 goals and 15 assists in his rookie campaign for the expansion team Citadelles. Sammy Blaze @hockeyfan – Blaze returns after spending his season in Detroit mostly setting up his linemates from the wing. He has strong passing and a sneaky shot and he used that to put up 5 goals and 12 assists for the Falcons this season. Xavier Doom @JKortesi81 – Transferring over to the USA from Iceland is Xavier Doom, who as mentioned earlier came across the pond to play with Beranek. Doom played fairly sheltered minutes in St. Louis this season, but managed to put up 5 goals and 14 assists. Grape Fruit @canes2112 – Our next rookie is Grape Fruit from the Carolina Kraken, who scored 6 goals and 13 assists which is very well done considering he averaged the fewest minutes on his team. James Hagan @CampinKiller – After a terrific performance last season for Team USA, Hagan proved that this wasn’t just a hot streak, breaking out with the Knights for 19 goals and 18 assists. Eric Hudson @EricNCSU – Hudson lost a bit of his scoring touch this season, but still managed to be very strong defensively and continued to block 103 shots, only second to Alexander Roach among forwards. Expect him to return to a large role for Team USA. Young Logo @Loganjj21 – Logo is already one of the fastest skaters on the ice and is only going to get better. He used that speed to push opposing defenses back and scored 5 goals and 17 assists for St. Louis. Ethan Price @Zomp – The four season veteran makes his final appearance in the WJC. He brings a great deal of experience with a championship, a finals appearance, and of course a gold medal. Price scored 22 goals and 26 assists to finish sixth in the league in scoring. Lord Raiden @Jumbobone19 – Raiden had a breakout season in Colorado, scoring 14 goals and 25 assists and also won 57% of the faceoffs he took. He is deadly on the powerplay too and teams should be very wary about going a man down with this guy constantly hanging around the net. Luffy Richard @Moreorless89 – Richard is one of the few players who didn’t make the team as a rookie, but has since made great improvements and finds himself on Team USA. He scored 7 goals and 8 assists and also put up 81 hits and blocked 70 shots and has a good overall game. Ryan Rieley @Brandon – Another player who didn’t make the club last season as a rookie and has now done so, Rieley has turned into a goal scorer who has no fear and will level the opposition with his great open ice hits often. He scored 12 goals and 7 assists with Quebec last season and recorded 109 hits, second on the team to Boris Petrov. Patrick Shepherd @Cobbenstein – Shepherd continued his career on the Timber this season with a solid two-way game and scored 10 goals and 26 assists for the club and looks to be in a similar role with Team USA. Defense Elwulf Jericson @Jericson – Jericson returns with another season under his belt and should see him as a big minutes eater after he put up over 20 minutes a game in St. Louis, throwing 81 hits and blocking 91 shots while being a part of both the powerplay and penalty kill. Colin Lambert @rum_ham – Lambert is back after scoring 8 goals and 19 assists with the Scarecrows as he was one of the primary drivers behind the offense in St. Louis and should be in a similar role for Team USA. James LeBlond @eMLBCommish – Oh boy, you want to talk about offense? This guy put up 38 points from the blueline, leading all defensemen in the SMJHL by a mile. Then you look at the goal scoring and he scored 19, 7 more than the next closest defenseman. He isn’t afraid to drop the gloves once in a while too, as he squared up for a fight this season. Zebulon Leavitt @Kraagenskul – The lone rookie on the blueline for Team USA, Leavitt played on the Vancouver 3rd pairing this season and had a single goal plus 8 assists. He played a pivotal role on the penalty kill and blocked 64 shots and had 98 hits. Jed Mosley Jr @JayTee – Mosley Jr. had a breakout year on offense for the Raptors, scoring 7 goals and notching 13 assists after only putting up 4 assists in his rookie season and expects to play a large role on the USA offense as well. Johnny Shuffleboard @mee – Shuffleboard returns after being one of the gold medal heroes for Team USA in S54, scoring a late 3rd period insurance marker on the breakaway to put the British Isles away for good. On Vancouver, he had 4 goals and 15 assists with a reduced physical game and more focus on offense. Goaltenders C. K. Supernaw - @Wawazat Supernaw arrived in the SMJHL in the middle of the season, but immediately put up good numbers for Nevada and had a 3.64 GAA and a 0.914 save percentage over 13 games. Edward Teach - @biggestshlchad Teach played second fiddle to the Outlaws’ Separa Borro this season, but he still had a 3.42 GAA and 0.881 save percentage in 14 games. And now to find out who will lead this team to victory. The following are the new leadership voted by the players: The second alternate captain is Ethan Duncan. @mastersheep Duncan is in his final season at the junior level and so this will be his last tournament. After leading Team USA in points in S54 in the round robin stage, he was bounced around between the second and third lines in Kelowna this season, putting up 11 goals and 19 assists while playing a large role on the penalty kill. Our first alternate captain is Bork Lazer. @Frick_Nasty Lazer is a defense first kind of defenseman who will wear down the opponents with his skills and positions himself well to keep the puck away from other teams. He also will draw a lot of penalties and still does have a bit of offensive flair, scoring 5 goals and notching 14 assists as well. Finally we have our Season 55 WJC captain: Pojo Biscuit @.bojo After the departure of Stan Hanson, the team needed new leadership and the USA has voted him as the newest captain. Biscuit put up 8 goals and 30 assists on a terrific Armada team and will help lead the team in the medal round once again. Code: Word Count: 1,207
