We're getting close to halfway through the season, rookies are starting to find their footing while veterans are racking up the numbers. Some teams got to a hot start, some not so much. It's no secret that some teams are more stacked than others, but let's take a look at what teams are meeting expectations, exceeding them, or completely missing them. For players above 425 TPE we'll use the SMJHL cap in any average calculations, and categories are averaged into offense, defense, goalies, and team average.
QCC: 39 Points Big Boss – LW 197 TPE Shane Duffy Jr. – RW 247 TPE Brian Davenport – RW 358 TPE Mew Two – RW 425 TPE (444) Mikael Koskinen – RW 425 TPE (432) Igor Petrov – C 425 TPE (452) Kev Kevens – RW 425 TPE (733) Zdenko Beranek – RW 425 TPE (673) Jst Maro – C 425 TPE (620) Tres Sombreros – LW 425 TPE (452) Ryan Rieley – LW 425 TPE (572) AVG TPE of offense = 382 Kappa Kappa – LD 243 TPE Bjorn Jakobsen – LD 425 TPE (450) Jari Heikkinen – RD 425 TPE (572) Jasper Maximov – LD 425 TPE (781) Yuuto Kira Cloudera Jr. – RD 425 TPE (499) Max Goodman – LD 255 TPE Boris Petrov – LD 425 TPE (464) AVG TPE of Defense = 375 Tyler Cannon – G 155 TPE Tyler Ward – G 425 TPE (464) Mat Smith – G 425 TPE (779) AVG TPE of Goalies = 335 AVG TPE of entire team = 373 It's no secret that QCC's season is cup or bust. This team is ridiculously stacked, and so far they have been meeting expectations, but we'll see how the second half of the season goes once other teams catch up to them since they don't have a lot of room for growth. KEL: 35 Points Kou Saotome – RW 229 TPE Travis Konecny – LW 353 TPE Christopher Ford – RW 223 TPE Danny C – LW 412 TPE Gerry Atrick – LW 399 TPE Roboute Guilliman – C 421 TPE Cian McFelter – C 425 TPE (471) Kian Hamilton Jr. – C 425 TPE (430) Brennan Huff – RW 425 TPE (427) Anna Pontecorvo – LW 296 TPE Kynwyl Pearce – RW 425 TPE (665) Patrik Money – LW 425 TPE (653) Logan Wong – LW 425 TPE (504) AVG TPE of offense = 343 Richard Lafleur – RD 425 TPE A-Rye Izzy – RD 440 TPE Michael Scotch – RD 425 TPE (452) Mikheal Petrov – RD 357 TPE AVG TPE of defense = 412 Benjamin Blue-II – G 209 TPE Loic Therien – G 229 TPE Damien Vertigo – G 425 TPE (567) AVG TPE of goalies = 288 AVG TPE of team = 348 Kelowna is right there behind QCC, despite their average TPE being almost 30 points behind them. This looks to be a close race down the stretch, and Kelowna's stellar defense is going to be huge in the playoffs. Slightly exceeding expectations. NF: 32 Points Zach Washington – C 162 TPE Robert Black – C 227 TPE Slavakov Vladimirashenko – RW 218 TPE Robert E.O. Speedwagon – LW 251 TPE Leon Athansios – RW 352 TPE Nike Kickz Jr – RW 414 TPE Jesse Trudeau – LW 340 TPE Ric Charlesworth – C 365 TPE Dwayne Gretzky – LW 425 TPE (599) Bas O’Bigbers – LW 425 TPE (591) Jonas Caspari – LW 396 TPE Vaseline Podcalzone – RW 425 TPE (771) Taylor Gervais – RW 303 TPE AVG TPE of offense = 331 Pasta the Turtle – RD 235 TPE Sabarro Torretta – RD 212 TPE Aleksander Balcers – LD 260 TPE Shion Okamoto – LD 317 TPE Billy Brooks – RD 425 TPE (449) Matty Sandeen – LD 425 TPE (581) Bud Weiser – LD 379 TPE AVG TPE of defense = 322 Evgeni Petrov – G 239 TPE Tim Allen Jr. – G 190 TPE Hugo Gronroos – G 425 TPE (441) AVG TPE of goalies = 285 AVG TPE of team = 322 The Berserkers round out the top of the pack, being the last team above 30 points currently. They're a well rounded team with no glaring weakness, and a solid veteran core with room to grow as the season goes on. Meeting expectations. NBB: 26 points Aidan Quinn – C 155 TPE Erik Andrews – RW 234 TPE Owen Bowden – RW 155 TPE Vladlen Sidorov – C 242 TPE Noah Johns III – RW 260 TPE Rob Wright – C 425 TPE (588) Kenji Sugimoto – RW 335 TPE Chad Danger – LW 392 TPE Viesturs Grabeklis – C 192 TPE Raivo Helminen – C 425 TPE (759) Brandt Underton – C 190 TPE Sven Gunnar – C 380 TPE Young Logo – RW 425 TPE (645) Juan Hunna-Pussent – LW 249 TPE AVG TPE of offense = 290 Eero Makela – LD 244 TPE Robert Ales – RD 161 TPE Rude Sniff – RD 425 TPE (590) Grandmaster Funk – LD 425 TPE (484) Vili Tuga’tuga’bo’atu – RD 425 TPE (539) Bane – RD 413 TPE AVG TPE of defense = 349 C.K. Supernaw – G 425 TPE (530) Remus Trimble – G 155 TPE King Leaf – G 162 TPE Carter Hart – G 155 TPE AVG TPE of goalies = 224 AVG TPE of team = 294 The Battleborn come in at a respectable 26 points. They're going through some growing pains on offense but have a solid defense to help relieve that. This will be a scary team in the postseason once they have all their pieces put together. Exceeding expectations. ANC: 26 points Utyosov Toyesfki – LW 206 TPE Janis Lux – LW 218 TPE Alimony Tony – RW 189 TPE Ville Kurri – RW 235 TPE Paul Binder – LW 360 TPE Fredrik Stefansson – LW 244 TPE David S. Pumpkins – LW 333 TPE Cole Carter – LW 289 TPE Pablo Salvatici – C 425 TPE (638) Tokkulu Lakkamaa – RW 425 TPE (428) Lemo Pihl – LW 425 TPE (792) Slava Petrov – LW 425 TPE (687) AVG TPE of offense: 315 Jay Sink – RD 248 TPE Valdis Vējonis – LD 210 TPE Bean Beanman – RD 421 TPE Jean-Locke Zidane – RD 425 TPE (429) Gregory Goode – RD 425 TPE (448) Jorg Fuchs – RD 226 TPE AVG TPE of defense: 326 Ethan Bravo – G 155 TPE Chimkin Tendy – G 425 TPE (679) Kojo Murata – G 160 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 247 AVG TPE of team: 308 Anchorage comes chugging in with a tie at 26 with the Battleborn. Another well rounded team, they may be hurt as the season goes on by their overdependence on Chimkin Tendy. Meeting expectations. COL: 25 points Jack Nishimori – LW 239 TPE Niall Nails – RW 182 TPE Reidar Gronkjaer – C 217 TPE Fedor Sotakov – LW 239 TPE KEKW Kekkonen – RW 256 TPE Ruedi Huber – LW 270 TPE Noel Blanchet – C 425 TPE (433) Leon Schweingruber – C 369 TPE Sonata Diamante – C 328 TPE Bobby Motz – RW 200 TPE Jarmo Kekalainen – LW 425 TPE (439) Eero Makinen JR. – RW 425 TPE (565) Josh Dolphin – C 425 TPE (597) AVG TPE of offense: 308 Angus McFife XVIII – RD 236 TPE Rovolio Clocksberg Jr – RD 186 TPE Basil Sivart – RD 425 TPE (438) Ren-Ekelemchi Shimizu-Okoli – LD 425 TPE (565) Ruggs McOoooh – LD 425 TPE (565) Terrence Smith – RD 425 TPE (444) AVG TPE of defense: 354 Russell Rattie – G 155 TPE Yanno Rosejac – G 425 TPE (632) Tyrone Banks – G 161 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 247 AVG TPE of team: 312 Colorado comes in barely behind the Boats and Goats at 25 points. Much like the Boats, they lean a bit too heavily on their Goalie which may hurt them in the long run. Their offense has a lot of room to grow so hopefully once that happens they can relieve a lot of the pressure from their young Goalie corps. Meeting expectations. DET: 23 points Salzberger Lillehammerson – RW 225 TPE Marco Barngrub – C 256 TPE Viktor Zukal – LW 242 TPE Sanzhar Molochtovoi – C 240 TPE Yan Dolff – LW 405 TPE Pavel Jeziak – RW 404 TPE Kermit Murphy – C 415 TPE Mikhail Borisnoff – LW 247 TPE Anton Mihailov – C 425 TPE (612) Jonathon Granstrom – C 425 TPE (649) Monkey Mann Jr. – C 354 TPE Cenek Iqbal – LW 233 TPE Daedalus James – C 425 TPE (628) AVG TPE of offense: 330 Jimmy nutcluster – RD 424 TPE Luc Blouin – RD 425 TPE (428) Bjorn Thornsen – RD 419 TPE Wen Baters – LD 425 TPE (480) Evangelos Giannopoulos – 425 TPE (785) AVG TPE of defense: 424 Tyler Avery – G 163 TPE Valtteri Aalto – G 425 TPE (476) Podan Podanovic – G 201 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 263 AVG TPE of team: 343 The birds come SKREEEing in at 23 points, still solidly in the middle of the pack but a small step behind. It's hard to tell what's going on here, their defense almost couldn't be better in the SMJHL and their offense is no slouch. No doubt they've had a bit of bad puck luck and will turn it around as the season goes on. Not meeting expectations. VAN: 18 points Mario Abeebehboosedibadibo – C 179 TPE Robot Sunfish – RW 228 TPE Strawberry Sailfish – RW 175 TPE Alexis Saint-Michel – RW 269 TPE Ako Zile – C 325 TPE Austin Smith – LW 372 TPE Mats LaFleur – LW 193 TPE Nikolaj Boyle – LW 425 TPE (436) Valtteri Kauppinen – LW 425 TPE (793) Rikki Petrov – C 425 TPE (587) KnockedOut ByOvechkin – RW 425 TPE (647) Wile Coyote – C 345 TPE AVG TPE of offense: 351 Dara McQuick – RD 199 TPE Sven Svechnikov – LD 242 TPE Narboza Manyhands – RD 407 TPE Zayne Rotzbua – LD 406 TPE Zebulon Leavitt – LD 425 TPE (747) Lonnie O’Donoghue – RD 418 TPE AVG TPE of defense: 350 Jon St. Ark – G 425 TPE (642) Mertin Brodeur – G 177 TPE Keisuke Suzuki – G 270 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 291 AVG TPE of team: 342 Vancouver is coming a step behind the middle of the pack at 18 points, having had a grueling start to their season. They have a balanced offense and defense, with plenty of hungry rookies looking to make an impact as the season goes on. Underperforming, but trending up. STL: 16 points Lebron Brady – RW 235 TPE Brent Ashe – C 159 TPE Scooby Doo – C 192 TPE Joshue Horsemenzada – LW 155 TPE Hunter Sharpe – LW 425 TPE (435) Greg Davies – RW 333 TPE Friedensreich Hundertwasser – RW 425 TPE (458) Victor Fedorov – C 425 TPE (521) Adrian Ayers – RW 425 TPE (615) Xavier Doom – C 425 TPE (797) Zbynek Dobrovsky – RW 425 TPE (470) Pavel Kharlamov – RW 425 TPE (572) AVG TPE of offense: 337 Michael Withecheck – LD 425 TPE (826) Lucas Andrasak – LD 162 TPE Ethan Bouchard – RD 236 TPE Kaito Bouchard – LD 163 TPE Dane von Gucci – LD 267 TPE Daryl Urquhart – LD 369 TPE AVG TPE of defense: 270 Kit Kirkstone – G 250 TPE Jack Lewis – G 174 TPE Bean Gamble – G 155 TPE Iorek Byrnison – G 195 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 194 AVG TPE of team: 293 St. Louis checks in right behind the Whalers at 16 points, and this is just a coinflip team if I've ever seen one. Their offense can score almost at will with 2 full lines of capped forwards, but as soon as those 2 lines are off the ice they're in really rough shape. Their goalie group is weak, but shows signs of improvement. Hard to give a grade on this group, a solid "wait and see". CAR: 15 points Harald Malmquist – RW 178 TPE Twelve Forty-Seven Fifteen – LW 205 TPE Aleks Blixstrom – LW 232 TPE Cormac Ponaire – LW 234 TPE Daud Ramza – C 263 TPE Tomas Lind – LW 395 TPE Golden Face – RW 307 TPE Luukas Lilja – C 425 TPE (590) Kyle Murray – RW 255 TPE Freyja Hellstrom – LW 371 TPE Aleksander Kozlov – C 425 TPE (820) Vincent Wolfe – LW 425 TPE (443) AVG TPE of offense: 310 Gino Lombardo – LD 183 TPE Granny PanPan – RD 210 TPE Ole Olson – LD 425 TPE (448) Finn von Murphenstein – RD 425 TPE (445) Jimmy Jimmy – RD 425 TPE (467) Ashy Larry – RD 222 TPE AVG TPE of defense: 315 Roddy Ross – G 155 TPE Shawn Lonkert – G 155 TPE Ragnar-Alexandre Ragnarsson-Tremblay – G 409 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 240 AVG TPE of team: 301 The Kraken are close behind at 15 points, carried by the play of their veteran netminder and defense. Once this group starts finding the net more consistently they'll be a force to be reckoned with. Dark horse/10. ANA: 15 points Shirakami Fubuki – RW 204 TPE Videl Valor – LW 184 TPE Bob Duncan – C 226 TPE Jack Micro – RW 208 TPE Ryuuji Kawashima – C 270 TPE Max Muller – LW 318 TPE Kaapo Kampainen – C 425 TPE (531) Walter Burke – RW 425 TPE (433) John Donair – RW 425 TPE (764) Thomas Rose – RW 425 TPE (586) Hubert Andrews – C 425 TPE (532) James Hagan – LW 405 TPE AVG TPE of offense: 328 Arturs Tumovs – LD 217 TPE AJ Tirrell – RD 220 TPE Sekai Wollker – LD 259 TPE Matej Winters – LD 194 TPE Julian Cunningham – LD 199 TPE Anna Maier – RD 228 AVG TPE of defense: 220 IStawp Puques – G 188 TPE Vincent Mietitore – G 425 TPE (533) Marcel Laflamme – G 230 TPE AVG TPE of goalies: 281 AVG TPE of team: 290 Anaheim comes in tied with the Kraken at 15 points, but I think they have to be happy to be there. Their defense is very green and not doing Vincent Mietitore and co. any favors. Sometimes their offense can keep pace, but they need more help on the back end. Slightly overperforming. MET: 8 points Edward Stewart – C 155 TPE Steven Thomas – LW 184 TPE Miguel Hefeweizen – C 244 TPE Maxime Allard – C 218 TPE Shaq O’Neal – RW 191 TPE Julian Kazarine – RW 238 TPE Ellis McPickle – LW 191 TPE Dogwood Maple – C 425 TPE (438) Jonny Tsunami – LW 425 TPE (447) Lucas Johansson – LW 425 TPE (694) Jesse Seppanen – LW 425 TPE (487) Victor Ball – RW 340 TPE AVG TPE of offense: 288 Puddles O’Duck – LD 409 TPE Latavius Jackson – RD 174 TPE Janne Virtanen – RD 222 TPE Lucas Kaiser – RD 227 TPE Sean Gatez – LD 425 TPE (626) Bud Light Lime Light Lime – RD 170 TPE AVG TPE of defense: 271 Walrus Walrus – G 155 TPE Bloody Oath – G 228 TPE Bigga Foryu – G 425 TPE (433) AVG TPE of goalies: 269 AVG TPE of team: 281 The Trees close us out at 8 points. They've obviously had a rough season, and the veterans are trying as hard as they can (Bigga Foryu has stole a couple games almost singlehandedly) but its pretty obvious they're in the middle of a rebuild here. Nowhere to go but up for the Trees. There haven't been too many surprises so far in the season, but as the gap starts closing between the mostly capped teams and the ones with room to grow there should be a lot to keep an eye on. We'll revisit these stats/standings around the end of the season and see who will give QCC and KEL a run for their money at the top! (2732 words)

Cool list and idea but you are not taking into account players that are capped at 350 which is skewing the results
