Colorado Raptors: Season Preview

With the conclusion of the season 59 preseason, the Colorado Raptors look primed for a great season. This off-season, only two players will not be returning and there are plenty of new faces. It appears that the Raptors will be in great shape. Club co-GM @Jumbobone19 announced that the team re-elected both Ruggs McOoooh as captain and Noel Blanchet as alternate captain. Sophomore Angus McFife XVIII is the new surprise alternate captain. Their leadership will be needed with all of the new rookies on the team.

As for their preseason performance, many of the new players are still trying to get their legs. The Raptors' record of 1-5-1 does leave some questions. Will the team be ready for the regular season? Will the new rookies acclimate well? Will Yanno Rosejac return to playoff form?

I, for one, have full confidence that the Raptors will be ready. Every new season starts with shaking off the rust from the offseason and getting back into the flow of things. Rookies will be rookies but they will make their mark and each looks ready to be a main stay in the program. As for Rosejac, he isn't revered for no reason. He makes his mark by frustrating other teams and there is no inclination that this year will be any different.

As for now, it's time to sit back, relax, and watch some SMJHL hockey. Though it is early, starting off hot can easily catapult a team to a deep playoff run. We'll just have to wait to experience it together.
