It's that time of season again, where the St. Louis Scarecrows gather to announce their combination of letter-bearers for the season, as well as their on-ice pattern.

This season, there won't be as many changes as there have been of late.

First, we welcome back our Captain. Since he joined us as a Draftable Free Agent in S56, we've had a ton of love and respect for @Asked Madden, and we were ecstatic to get him in his draft. Since then, he's become one of the mainstays in our locker room and team culture. This is probably his last season before moving up to New Orleans in the SHL, so we'll have to make it count.

Next, we promote our 2nd Assistant Captain to 1st Ass. @gucci didn't get to join us as a DFA unfortunately, but we listened very intently to our ISFL crossovers in the locker room ahead of S58 and made sure to pick him up in the SMJHL Draft. He's become another core part of our locker room, and we're glad to have him among us. Now that he's hit the 425 cap, we expect he'll be even better on the ice to go with his locker room presence. The only complaint we'd like to raise is that he could do to post more of Gucci Jr.'s puppy pictures.

Thirdly, we welcome back our honorary A3, our goalie, @Mooty99. Goalies are a critical part to any team, and having an active netminder is a boon to any team. Our armored bear carries us, and it's a travesty that we can't actually give him the Carey Price treatment in the sim.

Okay, now for somebody new. Much like last season, we put it to the locker room to decide. It was a very close poll, with the vote decided by 1 vote. We had four very solid candidates, and it really could have been any of them. That said, this user is a powerhouse. He came in as a Draftable Free Agent with our team in S58, and has been an amazing person to get to work with through the last season. It really isn't a surprise that he was taken in the Top 10 among his draft class. We're pleased to welcome as our Second Assistant Captain, Marcel Beck -- @By-Tor!

The next announcement is the ice pattern for the S60 season. Since we're changing letters, we try to change the ice accordingly to reflect the leadership of the team anyway. It's extra special this season since the month of June is Pride Month. One of the initiatives that Sparky and I have been talking about is making more of an effort to recognize causes and holidays, so for this season, we're celebrating Pride Month!

One of the design elements that I wanted to recognize is the flags. There are sixteen LGBTQIA+ flags on our sideboards, and there are plenty more among the community, these were just the ones that I could find decent sources on. I have people close to me that identify within different parts of the broader community, but some of the iconography is newer to me. I apologize in advance and am open to new information if there are any major groups excluded or represented in this design improperly. The point of this isn't to exclude or misrepresent, but quite the opposite.

From left to right and top to bottom, which is also alphabetical order, they are: Aromantic, Asexual, Bigender, Bisexual, Demisexual, Gay, Genderfluid, Genderqueer, Intersex, Lesbian, Labrys Lesbian, Non-Binary, Pansexual, Polysexual, Straight Ally, and Transgender.
