Everyone who knows me, knows one thing. I love goals. I love goals so much. Big slapshots, super fast wrist shots. Oh yeah baby that is why I like hockey. Today I am going to be looking at the current goal scoring leaders in the SMJHL. It is an exciting race with 5 people already at 10 or more goals. The big 5 that I am going to be looking at are, AJ WIlliams, Godwin Lupercal, Shoyo Hinata, Wing Wang and Rylie Versi. These 5 are the clear stand outs for me. Lets take a deep dive into the goal scoring race. Hold my hand, its going to get bumpy.

First off I am going to take a look at Newfoundland Berserker AJ Williams. The Berserkers are still unbeatable through 17 games, which is just kind of insane man. The team is absolutely stacked to the core. One of those great players is Aj Williams. He's currently sitting at 11 goals on the year, tied for first place. Compared to the other 5 people on this list, he does not get nearly as much ice time. Plays roughly 15 minutes a night. That is pretty crazy production for the small amount of ice time. Time will tell if he will able to keep up that crazy production.

Next on the list is Colorado Raptors Godwin Lupercal. He plays almost 4 minutes more a night then AJ Williams. And is currently riding one of the higher shooting percentages in the league with 19.3%. Not crazy high so he might be able to keep up that kind of production. He also gets a lot more Powerplay time compared to the others on the list. But I do not  think he is my favourite to win the goal scoring title. That will probably go to his teammate Shoyo Hinata.

Shoyo Hinata is just a production hound.  Of all the players in the top 5, Hinata plays the most power play minutes with 3:16 per game. That is crucial for a goal scoring title. You gotta have some monster powerplay production to stay on top of the pack and Shoyo Hinata certainly has that.  He has also taken  the most shots in the entire league with 84. That is 25 more than the next player on this list.  Hinata shooting percentage is kind of low with 13.1%. If he is able to up his shooting percentage while keeping up with his crazy shot production. Then man o man that is a recipe for a scoring title if you ask me. He is my current favourite to win the race.

Wing Wang from the Nevada Battleborn also has 11 goals on the season. He plays a crazy high 19:53 minutes per game. Definitely the most on this list. His shooting percentage is a little high with a 19.3%. But if he is able to keep up the kind of percentage he certainly has a shot at winning the title.

Rylie Versi of the Quebec City Citadels has 10 goals on the season. He plays on a weaker team compared to the other players on the list. But with the right amount of luck he might be able to keep a float compared to the other giants on the list.

Oh boy it will for sure be fun to keep an eye on this scoring race this season. Cant wait to see who wins.
