406 words, ready for grading

One thing I noticed while writing the last Sophia media piece was that it felt a little forced, and I had to kind of make myself write it. The ending was another “scores big goal and is excited for future” one, which while is a fun way to wrap up a chapter i find has gotten a little stale. I absolutely love this character and I want to see where I can take her, maybe focusing more on things away from the rink, but I think I might be slightly burned out at the moment. I might be a little less active on here for the near future, for reasons good and bad. The time away might lead to some inspirations in the story too.

2022 has been probably the most eventful year of my life so far, I finished my undergrad at Christmas, got to walk the stage last month, legally changed my name as part of my transition, and will be starting at my dream school in fall for the final step before starting my career. I’ve gotten to meet so many people, discover things about myself, and find talents within myself (singing and, recently, trying some poetry) and I’m excited to keep going. Unfortunately, the last three months have been a slog at times. Several unresolved traumatic events in a row have been somewhat overwhelming and have made it tougher for me to do the things I enjoy, the first event being the reason I stepped down from GMing so suddenly. I do want to return to the executive realm one day, but I need to focus on real life for now and get my head right. On the brighter side, I’ve started therapy and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves - I know I have.

I’m not going away completely. I’ll still update to the best of my abilities and I’ll try to keep up with the locker rooms that I’m in, but I might be coasting off my bank account for a bit so I won’t be able to write as much media as I want. I’m doing okay, don’t worry about me; just be excellent to each other, check in on people and ask how they’re doing, and always advocate for justice, consent, and amplifying the voices of those who are marginalized in these times.
