SCOUTING REPORT:

Jeff plays a defensively sound game, and while his stats do not jump out at you (maybe the +38) it’s the simplicity of his game that stands out. Jeff will not be an offensive specialist; I wouldn’t even trust him with the puck shooting from the blue line, but he moves it well to get it out of his zone. On the defensive side of the puck he is sound, he uses his body well and keeps himself in great positioning to keep opponents to the outside of the net and keeping the garbage away from the front of the net. He is as strong as anyone in the league and has no problem pushing forwards out from the front of the net to keep his crease clean.

FUTURE OUTLOOK:

Jeff has the makings of a historical #2 defender. The guy who shutdown opponents and allows the power play specialist or offensive defender to run with the forwards. He will excel in his own end and become a penalty kill specialist.
