Going back to the S71 draft

Hello, yeah today I'm going to try something new. Every draft looks stacked now, but in this article I'm going to talk about the draft down in the 71 season. Something I'm going to note down for every single pick in the first round is if that pick was the right choice to make. I will also rank the players drafted out of 10 and put them in tiers from S to F. I’m just doing this because I couldn’t find anyone else who made this draft class so I’m going to do it first. Maybe I’m just stupid but at least I’m having fun. Also I’m doing the rankings on the S72 seasons points. Enjoy

The first round of this draft looks like this:

20.[Image: nfvIR8Bqnzc7-A6j1yMGUT_tA3rs4HXZEoZQqPyX...tD45uSBWl8] Minnesota Monarchs
1.  San Francisco:   [Image: xe0Huwlzt4DpmXBZEgC1iR3s3KR32xLoGnR2isDH...asP1-bgRBg] selects Levin Schattenax (RW)
To be the 1st pick in the draft, is a very hard thing to accomplish. But with 289 TPE getting into the draft Levin got selected by the Prides. Now with 752 TPE, seeing him in a bad Grizzlies team and leading the team with 59 points is a good sight. I mean they could have gone for someone better in the top 5 but I guess the Pride really wanted a right winger and Levin was the best right winger they could have taken. With Levin being in the top 7 in TPE with a bad start of TPE from the draft, the pick looks pretty good. The score I’m going to give to Levin is an A  or a 8 out of 10

2. Toronto: [Image: 2SovOuDlHbZh9QqnB8Slgke9ugpFdb9gFfe4x2x0...JYCw8POkSY] Picks Mercedes Baylé (LW)
With a first season of 51 points, this selection looks pretty good already. Now with 761 TPE and 5th in TPE just behind Oliver Castillion and Logan Webb by 5 TPE. And the monster season of 89 points in the S72 season and second on his team, this looks like a good pick. With 301 TPE coming into the draft and now 5th in the draft class. Nothing really to say except for that was a S or a 10 out of 10 pick for Toronto.

3. Edmonton: [Image: OB7lCC0JIocgsoCzPFvxt6SeOOUENP4hfMLaD2CG...tdNh3bxC1k]Picks Furious Chicken (LD)
With having the most amount of TPE in the draft this spot fits the furious chicken. Having a season of 19 points in the Malamutes for his “first season” for a defenseman is decent. The Furious chicken had the most amount of TPE in the draft and now the draft class with 781 TPE 11 points up Max carnage, it makes sense that Furious Chicken is the 3rd selection. But something that sets him back is the points. For his S72 season, in a mid but scoring Malamutes team he got 36 points which is mid for the player that he is. But for now, Furious Chicken gets an A- and a 7.5 out of 10.

4. San Francisco:   [Image: xe0Huwlzt4DpmXBZEgC1iR3s3KR32xLoGnR2isDH...asP1-bgRBg] Picks Logan Webb (LW)
Second in TPE in the draft and a good showing in his first season is what every team wants. And with 314 TPE in the draft and a first season of 47 points, the Pride went right for Logan.  With a decline of TPE and being 4th in the draft class tied with Oliver Castillion with 766 TPE is not much of a deal. A mid season with a mid Kelowna Knights team, and with 56 points. But with him going to Maine we all hope he has that season to prove he’s the player in this spot of this draft and maybe even win the cup. Overall, I give this pick an A or an 8 out of 10.

5. San Francisco:   [Image: xe0Huwlzt4DpmXBZEgC1iR3s3KR32xLoGnR2isDH...asP1-bgRBg] Picks Dominik Winters (C )
Another pick for San Francisco like this whole first 5 picks. But with too many purple and gold aside, this pick is another great pick from San Francisco. With 299 TPE and a good 44 point first season with a horrible St. Louis team to show for, it's obvious why the pride went for Dominik. The pride already built a line for the future of the team which makes sense because they have 3 picks in the first 5. In the S72 season, Dominik got 91 points although in a good Scarecrow team, it’s still very impressive. With 744 TPE now and 11th in the draft class, there’s nothing else to say. The pick right now looks like a S or a 10 out of 10.

6. Los Angeles: [Image: eHu4l0Op3OmypHsbPU2TXVht5H0zJ6BDjENoYzj8...hZyshpjQoE]selects Oliver Castillion (C )
With a first season of 46, this already looks like a good pick. With 301 TPE in the draft, it’s pretty obvious why he’s in the top 10. For the S72 season unlike the other players in this draft class he got called up and had a good first season with 36 points. At this moment he has 766 TPE and is tied with Logan Webb for 4th place. There’s nothing else to say except this was a good A pick or an 8 out of 10.

7. Baltimore: [Image: yT-Gzz-0cFyUFQEroACO1VKm_mXDKG5E0BBRXaer...disjaNSM_M]selects Bellamy Blake (RD)
The first pick for Baltimore and it's a solid one. With a first season of 52 points, for a defenseman that’s some very good numbers. With having 305 TPE for the draft, having to fall down to 12th in TPE is a little unlucky. He was drafted as a LD but right now is a right defenseman. For the S72 season, he had a down season with 42 points in a very good Vancouver team, it could have still been because of his teammate on his left. Overall for this season this pick looks like a B+ or a 7 out of 10.

8. Tampa Bay: [Image: 11WdjlCaqPnyfh5GaAED-_1yxgdPGeM2-S2huhQa...4CkOGvSZ7k] picks Max Carnage (C )
The first pick for Tampa Bay is Max Carnage. With 304 in the draft and a good first season of 42 points so far these are all good looks. Another good look is the standing he is in the draft class TPE. With 770 TPE and 3rd in the class. For the S72 season, with a very good Battleborn team he got 78 points and is 3rd in his team for points. A very good pick in the top 10 and an A + or a  8.5 out of 10.

9. Baltimore: [Image: yT-Gzz-0cFyUFQEroACO1VKm_mXDKG5E0BBRXaer...disjaNSM_M]selects Jay Bryzi (LD)
With being the next best defenseman for the draft for TPE, Baltimore selected Jay Bryzi. For having a respectable 17 point season in a bad St. Louis Scarecrows team is not a big deal. With having 298 in the draft, and now 7th in TPE with 755 is great. For this season, Jay had 35 points and unfortunately a down season for him. Maybe it's because he’s in the 2nd line but we still have to see his full potential. For this season I give this selection a B+ or a 7 out of 10.

10. Minnesota: [Image: zAhrH24XM_x7BXemXqzNjy27Oor-CQBDHTTBgQkG...JwXiMPMGIU]Picks Marshall Madden (LW)
This pick is interesting. With a first season of 28 points in a bad Scarecrows is OK. And a big drop in TPE with 243, Minnesota really found something good in this player but a good account in the discord. Now with 585 TPE and 26th, this was the right decision though looking at the other left wingers coming up. For this season, he had an impressive 70 point season. I mean this was a good pick for a LW and point production, but for the TPE and how much money he has I think this is a B+ or a 7 out of 10.

11. Hamilton: [Image: 1vsBITaLhvDkA65OHHCGTwjpaUNGcJv-BenzIuSO...o6xRag-aWs]selects Inactive Forever (RW)
For the Hamilton Steelhawks first pick, this was a solid pick. For having a great season with 64 points with Vancouver it’s a great first look. In the draft Inactive Forever had 301 TPE and now has 587 (25th place). With not having a lot of money in the bank it makes sense that his TPE is low. For the S72 season he had a great season with 93 points and 3rd on his team. I guess teams really didn’t need a right winger other than San Francisco. A good pick but the TPE is what lets thes score down and is a A- or a 7.5 out of 10.

12.Baltimore: [Image: yT-Gzz-0cFyUFQEroACO1VKm_mXDKG5E0BBRXaer...disjaNSM_M]Picks Thomas Liebold (RW)
With Baltimore having the same amount of picks as the Pride, you're going to see a steal. With a first season of 63 points with Vancouver. The last player to have more than 300 TPE is Thomas and in the 12th pick is crazy. I guess Hamilton got the 1 point more right winger, teams really didn’t want a right winger in this draft. In the present, he had a crazy 103 point season and led the Vancouver Whalers. A steal for Baltimore and having a blast in the draft. I give this pick a S or a 10 out of 10.

13. Toronto: [Image: 2SovOuDlHbZh9QqnB8Slgke9ugpFdb9gFfe4x2x0...JYCw8POkSY]selects Andre Latreille (LW)
Like I said with Marshall Madden, the other left wingers are interesting. With 40 more TPE than Marshall and with a good season with 39 points as his first season this looks like a good pick. And a respectable season with the Grizzlies with 50 for the S72 season. But the problem now lies on the TPE. Well with having 289 TPE to start from, and now 385 is bad enough but the main issue starts because HE'S NOT ACTIVE. Don’t be inactive guys, inactive equals F and a 1 out of 10.

14. Manhattan: [Image: -SHNPU-V6JBXMPJyq_aSza62oiXXMfL9qnBtj0zy...qPXTRVRKe4]Picks Mick Mayhem (LD)
All of the defense picks aren’t absolute steals and this one isn’t one either. Not to be rude though, this is a good pick for the 14th selection. With having 274 in the draft and now having 525 TPE, there is still a justification. No money and laziness is probably why. Having a decent first season with 26 and a good season with 60 in the S72 season this is a decent pick for this spot. A decent pick for Manhattan and a B for this spot or a 6 out of 10.

15. Buffalo: [Image: Kd7Ua4KF8mdHDNgywKSz02zCvagDbg9bCCr1rdUH...5fMGMP-L24]Selects Shootin Blanks (C )
A respectable first season with 34 with the Timber. And 289 TPE to start with is a good start to a late pick in the first round. Now 689 TPE, that’s 400 TPE straight. For the S72 season he had a great season with 83. Nothing else to say except for this is a great pick for the 15th spot in the first round. I give this pick a S or a 10 out of 10.

16. Hamilton: [Image: 1vsBITaLhvDkA65OHHCGTwjpaUNGcJv-BenzIuSO...o6xRag-aWs]Picks Thomas Sawschuck (C )
So far Hamilton looks pretty good for draft picks and this pick is no exception. With 257 TPE coming into the draft and being the only center left in the draft I guess the Steelhawks wanted a center. A good first season with 45 points with the Battleborns. Now he has 698 TPE and that’s a big jump from the measly 257. For the S72 season, he had a crazy season with 106 points. A steal and a S or a 10 out of 10.

17. New England: [Image: MoAvimypC5MeMxEyvIBNvcJ-O7pYqBgfekdUSp8T...obnKijXPkc]Selects Adelbert Steiner (RD)
With a good first season of 31 points in the Newfoundland Berserkers this looks like a decent pick. Had 287 TPE in the draft and now has 569 with not a lot of money to spend. In the S72 season he got 53 points. This pick was decent overall and I give it a B+ or a 7 out of 10 for this spot in this draft.

18. Philadelphia: [Image: Bi0OXIbBbBYPxSEwzfnKGwndUoZ7QfvoJ57IULY2...Ka2r7XwzZE]Picks Barg Hazbite (RW)
Coming into the draft with 283 TPE and now has 683 TPE, an exact 400 difference. A decent first season for a once horrible Anchorage team with 30. In the 72 Season Barg had a big season with 81 points, a good pick overall TPE and point wise. A good pick and an A + or a 8.5 out of 10 pick for Philly.

19. Winnipeg: [Image: vAESxGV1R4xl1BTBomIacF3L_S_p0iR8hYvwrNG_...C1OPuvtp3Q]selects Johnny FourStar (RW)
Another rightwinger that got ignored and fell all the way down to the 19th spot in the first round happens a lot in this draft. 298 TPE in the draft and now has 719 TPE in the S71 draft class. Had a very good first season with 55 points and for the S72 season he had an amazing 86 points for Vancouver. Nothing to say except for a S or a 10 out of 10 pick in this spot and for the stacked Winnipeg team.

20. Minnesota: [Image: zAhrH24XM_x7BXemXqzNjy27Oor-CQBDHTTBgQkG...JwXiMPMGIU]PickS Boho Biscuit (LD)
The last pick in the first round and it's another pick for Minnesota. 228 TPE to start with and 538 TPE now and not a lot of money. Had a first season of 23 points and a S72 season of 32 for the Regina Elks. Minnesota is really risking it for the biscuit (see what I did there). But actually the selection is OK compared to what it looks like. B or a 6 out of 10.

Notable Players outside of the First Round:
Alexej Kastrba (1st spot of 2nd round Manhattan) (RW) - Now with 754 TPE and picked in the second round you probably know why he’s here. Kevin Kim (6th spot of 2nd round Minnesota) (C ) - With only 222 TPE going into the draft, now he’s 21st in the draft class and led his team with points (let me be proud of my player). Many more steals. But I don’t have a lot of time on my hands so that’s all I’m going to do.

S: Mercedes Baylé, Dominik Winters, Thomas Liebold, Shootin blanks, Thomas Sawschuck, Johnny FourStar
A: Levin Schattenax, Furious Chicken, Oliver Castillion, Max Carnage, Inactive Forever, Barg Hazbite
B: Jay Bryzi, Marshall Madden, Mick Mayhem, Adelberg Steiner, Boho Biscuit
C:
D:
F: Andre Latreille
